I agree with yuo triplet about alot of things but also i have to tell you they shouldnt have started the episode off the way they did too i eman clark and lana was so happy at the beginning that it was like where did he show that he wanted to leave her when he was having a good time? i dont know i thought that was poor writing

I don't know why they did that for sure but I think, and I'm just guessing, they were trying to give them a happy moment as a couple. That happy moment gave the complication in the scene (Lana letting Clark know she would be alone in her dorm room and Clark having to give Lana the brush off) a much bigger impact.
I see your point, but it didn't really bother me so I didn't mention it. |

I agree with you Triplet. I really didn't like this episode. Mind you I never mind a shirtless sexy scene with Clark but when the rest of the episode is pretty bad it seems totally gratuitous.
I had a slightly different take on the break-up, but I was not thinking in terms of him being the future superman. As many of us women know many men are total wimps when it comes to breaking up. Clark even admitted to Chloe that it was something he had been putting off because he didn't want to have to do it. So many men would rather just let a relationship die a slow death than have a break-up confrontation---they say they'll call but don't, or they act indifferent, or things that you do together get further and further apart--you get the picture. They want the girl/woman to just figure out that it is over without actually saying so, mostly to avoid the tears involved. Women, on the other hand, need closure. They need the words spoken or they hang on to hope. This is what Lana has been doing for sometime. First clue--no sex! How many red-blooded American males give up on sex in a relationship unless they have lost interest? Not many that I know. Clark's excuses have become pretty lame. Very little communication, no real intimacy that we have seen, hints that the relationship is not really there anymore, etc. This has been in all the more recent episodes where it seems like they are just going through the motions. As cruel and OOC as this break-up was, it seems like that is what it took to make Lana really get it. Until Clark told her (and she forced the issue) that he didn't love her anymore, she was not going to give up. |

eh me being a guy though i wouldnt tell a girl i dont love her anymore. i mean alot of guys wouldnt say that i would have told her that i didnt want to hurt her anymore because lately thats all i was doing to her. i think him telling her he didnt love her anymore was way too extreme and that it wasnt fair to her that he could be himself. thats all. the i dont love you thing shouldnt have ben up into the episode.
