Loved the reveiw, Triplet, although I kinda disagree with you on it. I liked the episode more than you did, but then again I'm not that picky. I think that it's fair to suspend reality a little bit with sci-fi and super hero shows, even if the plotline is somewhat real. The whole calling the Daily Planet thing didn't bug me as much. The diplomatic immunity thing did, but I figured seeing injustice was a good device to drive Clark toward being Superman. I didn't think that there were too many Dukes references, and I didn't think that Jonathan was OOC in driving around. Who doesn't get a little wild around their friends? My dad is usually pretty straight laced, but when he's around his best friend from California, he really lets loose.

I, too loved the coke comments and the Clois banter just as much as you did. It's lovely having a TW fan commenting on our HANDSOME Clarkie. That is missing from a lot of reviews I read. Overall, I think that this was an excellant review, just like all the others. Can't wait for your veiw on Splinter.

Nice review, but I disagree with many of your points Triplet. I thought "Exposed" was a much better episode than "Thirst".

Well, my review was probably colored by real life and I may have been harsher than normal but I had one helluva Thursday.

*sigh*

If anyone has read my reviews before, they'd know I don't usually get picky but those bothered me enough to interfere with my overall enhoyment of the episode so I mentioned them.

I didn't hate the episode, but I didn't love it either.

Anyway, I always love Clark centric episodes, he's what the show is about for me.

So I am very much looking forward to both Splinter and Solitude.

I am becoming a James Marsters fan and I can't wait to see what he'll do in the next two episodes as well.

I did like Exposed better than Thirst, (but to be honest, I enjoyed both, so...)

I agree with most of your points, especially with the Dukes of Hazard theme. Sorry, it's just before my time, so it had no impact on me to see the wild car ride and the two Dukes banter.

As for the plot-holes--you're probably right, although I will say that they use the, "I want to talk to a reporter!" loophole a lot in "Lois and Clark" and the comics, (I think), so that one I'd let slide myself.

I loved Clark and Lois' banter in this episode, especially the, "Okay, you're gonna get me fired if you keep looking at me like I'm Jabba the Hutt" (hilarious), but more than that I enjoyed seeing Lois thanking Clark. My favorite Lois is Teri Hatcher's portrayl, and when Lois softens up like that on Smallville, I see where the younger version of her could turn into an older, more mature one. There are differences between the ways she's characterized in all forms of Superman, so to see some traits appear from one version into another is refreshing. But, that's just me. Anyway...

Overall, very insightful review. I always enjoy reading them.

Nicw review, Triplet. I must say that I agree with most of what was said. I usually don't notice gaping plot holes in a story until I've had time to think about it afterwards, but the whole "diplomatic immunity" thing was too out there to believe. Also, it looked like Tom Wopat was only on the show as a way to say "Look! This guy was on a show almost 30 years ago with this other guy and now they're on screen together again! Weird, huh?" I saw no other real reason for his character to be there. But, whatever. I did enjoy the banter between Clark and Lois at the end. Not one I'll think about much in the future and I can't see myself watching it more than once on DVD.

Exposed review

Triplet, good call on all the nonsensical plot holes. On the plus side, Exposed contained some good Clark/Lois moments and the scene at the end where Lex references King David tapped one of my favorite recurring SV tactics, namely, conflating the Clark/Lex character development with other epic literary and historical heroes and villains. Lionel frequently alludes to great men of antiquity as illustrative fodder when lecturing Lex. This device consistently sets the SV story arc against a backdrop of preceding hero/anti-hero legends and appropriately so. Other than that, this episode was largely forgettable. One of my favorite quotes sums up the plot, “In lieu of creativity there is an emphasis on sexuality.” Janeane Garofalo

All are my sentiments exactly. It's going to be awesome to see
Clark become John Nash, and seeing James Marsters almost makes me want to start watching Buffy, which says a lot. lol.

3 out of 5 wow Triplet you are such a nice person to give it that.

This episode has so many holes and unbelievable scene just in the first 15 minutes alone.

From the stripper calling a reporter instead of the cops, to being run over. Chloe and Lois not calling the cops to report it or even try to give the girl CPR to at least resetitate her, and how can Chloe just pronounce her dead on the spot?

Only part I like about this episode is Lex being the Hero. Even though Jonathan Kent hated him for no reason at all. (see my thread Why Pa Kent hate Lex?) Also Lex and Clark friends? or are they enemies? How can you hate someone one day and then he help you get out of Jail and even gave you his Strip club VIP pass the next?

Plus if the Senetor Jennings was Clarks hero (why was he never mentioned before?) It seem we are just force to accept this so we can see him in this episode to fill a Plot hole. (dont get me wrong I love the Dukes scenes).

anyway you tolerated this episode than me. I wont even give it 3 out of 5. but that's my own opinoin.

I always figured that the reason she called the Daily Planet instead of the cops is because the cops couldnt do anything due to diplomatic immunity.

Triplets reviews are terrible!!! Its like reading a review that some 15 year old made in High School about what she did over summer break to her english class.

Note: The views of neo_nate don't necessarily represent the thoughts and feelings of everyone at KryptonSite.............but im sure im not the only one who doesn't find her reviews less then stellar!

Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion but maybe telling me why you thought my review was so off the mark might be a little more productive than getting personal and insulting my maturity level.

And do you realize you had a double negative in your last sentence?

If you want to insult me, you should at least work out the grammar so the remarks are more biting.

But to really get your point across, maybe you should have said something like this instead:

I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds her reviews less than stellar.

The next time I do not like one of your reviews I will make sure I am wide awake and have full focus on what I am writing on a forum about Smallville. If and when I want to "insult your maturity level" I will proof read the entire paragraph before posting it.

As for your reviews, they just seem a little bland and do not really convey any sense of really what happend in the episode, at least not to me. Your attempt at adding humor to your reviews also seems a little forced and it feels like you are "grasping for straws" when you do this. You seem like the kind of person who trys to hard to get a laugh when you just really need to be yourself.

Its ok, I don't expect your reviews to be Rolling Stone or Entertainment Weelky style quality. Your young and still learning, you will get better as the season progresses, I am sure of it, until then keep on doing what you do.

Just remember to never quit trying, the only person that matters what they think in the end is the person who you see in the mirror each day. You can do it! I cannot wait until your next review, Thursday seems farther away then before now!

Ah OH!! I 4got to proof read this again and I made some spelling and grammer mistakes. LOL

How many of my reviews have you read? I'm curious...

I am hardly the kind of person who isn't good at being herself...

I think you are reading way too much into my reviews, especially if you're mostly going off of the most recent one for Exposed.

It's not my best review ever, to be honest.

You have no idea just how funny that is... I'm "young and still learning"???

I guess you don't have any idea just how old I am.

I won't spill my exact age, but I saw the original run of Superman The Motion Picture in the theatre when I was a teenager. You do the math.

I'm not a kid. Hardly. I have kids who are old enough to watch Smallville. While I won't give my exact age, I will say that I am closer to John Schneider's age than to Tom Welling's.

Maybe my conversational writing style is a youthful one and I have no doubt that any attempts I have at being humorous seem forced.

That isn't surprising since I don't actually try to be humorous at all.

I'm not a comedy writer so any actual humor in my reviews is purely accidental. I just want to keep the tone light, usually.

I'm not a journalist and don't really want to ever be one so I don't aspire ever work for Entertainment Weekly or Rolling Stone so not being up to their level of quality is just fine with me.

Okay, then.

Too funny... I'm still laughing at the "young and still learning" bit...

You totally crack me up.

Triplet, I have a Bachelor's in English with a focus on personal essays and fictional writing, and I love reading your reviews. I can't speak for everyone (obviously), but I could tell just from your style and the details you mention from the episode, that you must be at least in your twenties. You're a touch more than that, but I just thought I'd say something about it.

Yeah, I'm just a bit out of my 20's...

Thanks for the props.

You see, there I go again... writing like I'm 15.

That tickles me no end... "young and still learning"

That totally cracks me up still.

Getting reviewed on my reviews can be very entertaining...

Great review Triplet

Plot holes, guess I'm used to them

Yeah you do seem younger in your reviews, I never would have guess you were close(???) to my age

I don't understand well american slang.

What does straight up on the rocks mean?
It has something to do with the coke, does that mean he wants to mix it with alcohol?

and

"what he was talking about was a riot."

You mean he was funny?

By the way I agree with your reviews. But talking about Tom Welling's haircut isn't very intersting and I would have given this episode a 2.75/5. (all these -0.25 I lose at every exams have left their marks on me >_<)
