Another good review, triplet! I enjoyed the episode too. I don't know if I would call it the best episode of the series though. I am hoping that episode is yet to come.

I'm not sure where'd I'd place it in my list of the top episodes, but it's up there with Transference, Memoria and The Pilot....

Agree, great review!
Good point about the hairstyles this season! It maybe a tad shallow to say, that hair and clothes matter, but they do! And Jonathan isn´t 20 anymore, so he should look accordingly to his age!
By the way, Lana should really get a haircut, or do something with her hair!
It´s been four seasons of the same old haircut! Do something girl! Make a change!

As to whether Clark flew or jumped, I think he meant to jump like he did in Season 2, but accidentally flew - he just didn't realise it. That's purely a personal opinion though.

I would like to know what your friend told you about Clark expression after waking up before dying. Becuase if confused me too.
I think we should call Lior-El to Jor-El in Lionel's body 'cause I think we will be seeing more of this.
I disagree with your tak on AM screaming but I understand that is something personal. I wasn't that move for Lana's crying I don't buy the whole I loved you for the moment a I saw you since hse has shown to be in love with all of her others boyfriend and I still remember that he said to Jason that she never being happier, but she already has had a relationship with Clark and then NOWshe said tha she knew nobody could make her happier she really needs to think better before using the words love and happiness. Is true it was one of the best. I hope they keep going with this and we don't get any filler this season so we can garantee SV 6th and maybe even 7th season.

I am astounded. I guess ANYBODY can be a reviewer these days. Talk about plot holes and flaws! Being a reviewer is about being able to critique without allegiance. I am a fan of Superman and Smallville but I review with a better sense of criticism than stating everyone's acting and lines were "perfect" and "wonderful". Why do I get a sense that no matter what the writers throw at us, the reviewer will gladly think its "Superb". I give this episode a 2.5 out of 5 for its lack of logic and horrible timer....oy.

Well, she said that it was... let me see if I can remember exactly what she said... She said it was echoing the look he gave Lana when they were in bed together.... Warm and loving and the look reinforced the idea that Clark is angelic.

They have so many angelic and Christ-like images with Clark. I mean, even after him getting shot his arms were spread out lin a Christ-like pose.

I don't know if I thought that moment was right for that, however.

He was mortal and dying and he should have looked like it. He should have been pale and sweaty like he was in shock but he looked healthy and gorgeous. So, it wasn't just the look he gave her. The make-up shoulda supported him being near death and it didn't.

You know, I'm not sure I totally bought Lana's speech either but it sets up why she'll let herself be pushed away from him I think.

I guess we'll see what happens...

AS for there not being filler episodes this season: I don't have the same problems with the so-called "filler" episodes that most people do.

I personally don't think that there is any such thing as a filler episode, but I've talked about that in my reviews before.

Blank was supposedly a filler episode but tons happened that was important to Clark as a character... how can that mean nothing in the greater scheme?

Usually even the most mythos light of episodes has something to it that is important to the overall character arc for Clark. So I just don't buy into that idea at all.

Well, you have your opinions on things and I have mine and the reviews are comprised of my opinion and mine alone. Kryptonsite even puts a disclaimer at the bottom of each review stating that the comments made are my opinions, not Kryptonsite's.

You don't have to read my reviews if you don't like them. I am a huge fan of the show and of Tom Welling and am unapologetic about it. So the end result is that I'm probably more forgiving of the show's mistakes than other people would be.

If you would like to trot out your own ideas and why they differ from mine, go right ahead but ranting about how my reviews suck isn't adding anything meaningful to the discussion. And discussing my reviews, and possibly stating how your own ideas on the episode differ from mine, is the point of this thread.

If you want to read someone's reviews that is harder on the show, you should go over to Superman home page and read Neal Bailey's... He's very hard on the show so you might enjoy those better.

As for me, although I am more forgiving than some reviewers might be I will not let an awful episode slide...

I loathed Ageless and pretty much said so in my review. So much so I wish I could burn that episode from my mind. It was about the worst episode of the series and given the CV of writer/director Stephen S. DeKnight should have been one of the better ones....

The only reason I gave that a two (it probably deserved less) was becuase Lionel and Lex were both so perfectly evil in it. I absolutely loved Lionel's scenes with Genevieve Teague. They were both so deliciously evil to each other.

That, by itself, pulled it out of being a half a star.

You should take up why I'm the reviewer with Craig, if you feel that strongly about it.

As for always being positive, that isn't the case.

If you didn't like Hidden, say why and I'd love to have a debate with you on that. So far, I think this season's episodes have all been stellar in my opinion so it might appear that I will always give a postive review but that isn't so.

I detested that episode, even though a lot of people loved it. I didn't start reviewing here until Onyx last year, but on another web site I had reviewed the rest of the 4th season and there were plenty of other episodes last year I hated nearly as much.

Lucy and Bound being a couple of them, Krypto and Recruit weren't much better...

Maybe you'll have to wait until Thirst or Lexmas (the only episodes I'm dreading will be awful) to see a negative review.

Triplet, in case my opinon means anything, what Clark did at the rocket was Super Jump. He's done it in "Lucy" and it looked like virtually the same ability when he lept up to the rocket.

Great review, great episode. The only thing that bothered me is that Lana didn't say "I love you" before he died.

As for the Superjump, it was similar to Lucy except the take-off definitely was similar to Crusade, a bit of new with a bit of old. Baby steps.

I really don't think Lex will "surely" be successful at driving a wedge between Lana and Clark. It's possible, but to say that he will "surely" succeed, I think is jumping the gun. Also, I don't see the show ending with Lana having "disaffection" for Clark. Again, I think that's jumping the gun a little. Maybe wishful thinking. I said maybe.

Overall, Hidden disappointed me. So I know if I would have written a review, it would have looked different, but not totally; there were some good things. But hey, to each his own.

I totally agree. If you check out Neal Bailey's review at supermanhomepage.com, he rips the show apart as he exposes continuity and plot hole errors.

Personally, I've enjoyed "Hidden" and I like positive reviews. However, when a total unbiased expose is available in literature with every aspect in plain view, it opens my eyes.

And I'm astounded that you feel the need to personally attack someone for taking the time to review an episode of the show and then put it out on a website. If you disagree with her, then state your points, and dont make blanket statements about it being "horrible" and regurgitate what you read on SMHP.

It amazes me how many people out there wait for the SMHP review of the episode and then ape Neal's comments. It's like people enjoy the eps, and then they see Neals reviews, and then feel as if they're not supposed to enjoy them. Think for yourselves. I'm sure Neal would want you to...

Did I agree with trips review? On some things yes, on others no. But I'm not going to insult her for her views on the thing, or just because they dont jive with what some other reviewer says.

I think it was a combo: flight but not controlled so it looked like a jump.

I think he flew mostly because his trajectory was curved, he accelarated toward the missile, and when he took off the effects were similar to Kal-El's controlled flight in Crusade, but most people don't see it that way.

Meh... I guess we'll find out if he ever talks about it, but he's flown before and not had conscious control of it (Metamorphosis, Rosetta, Tempest/Vortex) so I don't see that as a problem.

He'll have to learn to fly and control it at some point this season, and it's his most distinctive power so I like them working him up to that.

I hope this means he'll have a more gradual move into controlling flight instead of the one-shot superpowered episodes like X-Ray, Heat and Whisper. With those episodes, he got the power in the tease (or early in the first act) and then he was in full control by the end of the final act break cliff-hanger....
