She's always done her best to protect Clark and his secret...

It's not as much as Clark treating her that way as the way as it is the show displaying her use very questionable tactics in achieving her goals that's akin to how the Lex operated. Granted, Chloe is nowhere near as messed up as Lex when he had his fallout with Clark, but it does make me wonder where the show is taking Chloe's preoccupation with doing whatever it takes to keep everything under her control without claiming responsibility or feeling remorse for her conduct on her lack of ethical integrity. (Ie. Spying on Oliver, listening in on The Blur's conversations with Lois, the possibility that she'd have no qualms in killing Tess for betraying humanity.) Considering that SV never fails to compare everyone to Clark and his uncompromising will to Do The Right Thing, I suspect that there will be some sort of confrontation between the two of them because as he's already been calling her out on it. I just hope it doesn't lead her character into a darker/self-destructive path or something annoying like that.

UGH, it's happened enough times as it is. I feel that my fears are more than justified.

Also, I can't blame Clark because he really is just doing what he feels is right and I think his behaviour has always tied in to the Superman mythos. What I do blame though is the show's bad writing for not doing any justice to every other character that's not Clark or Lois or Lex. Is it that hard to give some depth and complexity to characters like Chloe, Jimmy, Lana or Oliver and to treat them with some respect? *headdesk* Urgh, this is why we can't have nice things.
