I have a feeling that we will never find out who really did kill Jor-El. I wouldn't doubt that the question to who killed him goes unanswered and just falls through the cracks. The writers have a tendency to forget about some major events that happen i.e. Chloe never getting around to telling Lois that Jimmy was killed.

When Clark asked Jor-El who fatally wounded him, Jor-El said "I don't know." Like I said above, I don't think it will be answered. It is much like the S8 finale when Clark visited Chloe at Watchtower for the final scene and when Chloe asked how Clark escaped from where he buried Doomsday, Clark said that he didn't know. We never got an answer to how Clark got out of there so I think it is very possible that we will never know who really killed the great Jor-El.

If you're right, then I would rather compare it to the X situation in Instinct. We all have our suspicions about that, but it was never confirmed.

ok i don't think zod killed jor-el. as for lex killing him, i don't think so either but i also believe lex is still alive, obviously, and he does know what's going on in his absence from smallville. he is lex and he has his ways. ollie didn't kill lex but everyone has been made to believe so. was it chloe? was it that doctor that often helps chloe and clark out? was it tess. if it was chloe then maybe this is what happened.

chloe shows up at the farm and notices jor-el there and he appears to have something with him. she hides from him and spies on him and knows that he's obviously hiding something. chloe decides to confront him and by this time jor-el has already hidden the object he was hiding. chloe wants to know what he's hiding. the two end up in an argument and during this they kinda get in a struggle and she accidently stabs him or he falls on something and stabs himself. chloe goes back to the watchtower and sees if she can find out what jor-el was hiding. yeah i don't think that happened.

maybe jor-el tried to escape from the kandorians and in the process got stabbed and then released.

if it was zod then he was obviously watching when clark showed up and held jor-el in his arms and then later followed clark to jor-el's grave by the lake.

tess could have sent some of her goons and had them kill him. cuz in her sick and twisted way she thinks she's doing right.

lex shows up one day in smallville, knows everything that's going on cuz he's spying, just like chloe does knowadays, and happens to show up at the farm just as jor-el gets there and stabs him instead of trying to get info out of him or taking him off to some secret location to study him or get him to talk about where he came from.

what other scenarios could there be. who killed jor-el?

I pointed out 2 things in another post:

1. We saw Lex appear in Echo & was passed off as Oliver hallucinating his own reflection as Lex. But Lex flinched by turning his head when Oliver threw his drink. Oliver didn't turn his head. I don't know of too many reflections that do something that their source doesn't do. If Oliver was hallucinating himself as Lex, he would have hallucinated Lex doing the same things he did, not turning his head when Oliver didn't. Lex then faded away as the drink spilled off the glass of the door.

2. Remember way back in Shimmer, Jeff Palmer had an invisibility formula. Also remember how Lex's men altered Wes Keenan (from Prototype) to become invisible--something that was an extra & not based on Titan's DNA/blood, which is what Lex used to enhance Wes Keenan. So the invisibility Wes had was Lex's own technology, not something based on alien DNA. We have 2 cases of invisibility where one case was created by Lex. Who knows, maybe after he became evil, he arm-twisted Jeff Palmer to give him his secret.

So putting these 2 together, it's entirely possible Lex is walking around in an invisibility cloak that he can activate whenever he wants like he did with Wes. This would certainly explain what we saw in Echo and would explain how Lex would know everything. If it's true, then who knows. Maybe Lex is living at the mansion without anyone knowing it. Or perhaps at the Kent farm. It would be insanely awesome if this turns out to be the case.

Well, we all know who I'm voting for. We'll find out soon, though, right?

It was..............Brainiac, or fortress jor-el protecting his son from the "abomination" (jor-el's own discription of the orb clones)

or brain-el, some of the fortress crystals are still black

I'm going with the ends justifying the means.
It can't be Lex. I don't ever see that happening, and Michael is probably willing to go skydiving without a parachute than come back for even one episode.

So, Lex is gone.

Zod, could he have done it, yes. But to me, it doesn't make any sense. There are plenty of reasons to keep Jor-El alive.
Tess wouldn't do it, because she wouldn't exactly be able to move from the mansion all the way to Clark's farm, kill Jor-El, and make it back.

No one knows where Chloe was during all this, so she's still a possibility.
For all I know, she was off meeting Zod. It's getting to the point where I can see Chloe manipulating both Zod and Clark.
