How could anyone possibly not love the side she brings out in him? He's loose, he's funny (!), he's pro-active, he's mature but not to the point where he's boring, he's finally going after what he wants instead of whining that he doesn't have it -- he's absolutely perfect. Or dare I say supermanly?

Lois challenges him to step up and be the best he can be, even when she's not meaning to. It's just who she is and PS are right: Clark has met his match in Lois.

Thank god the days of crying in the barn are over. Give more more of this smiling, happy and pro-active Clark. I love him!

No wonder they managed to convince Tom to sign for two more years. Tom looks like he's having a blast.
ITA your post is dead on!!!!

Okay so in case anyone didn't get the memo:

I love Clark. Big Clark fan right here. HUGE fan of happy and witty and funny Clark. Lois tends to bring that side out in him. There. Happy now? Can we all move on?

I so want to say some things but they would only come across as rude, passive-aggressive and inflammatory.

Suffice it to say that I have enjoyed Lois' character, for all her glories and flaws in the last five years and I have ALWAYS felt that her character's introduction was a breath of fresh air. I too thought she came on too early, but in the end, I really am glad they did it. B/C it allowed her and Clark to develop a friendship that followed them through their early adulthood "growing pains". And it gave them a chance to have the fans of Superman see more of how/why Clark falls for her.

Lois is a lot of things, one of them is his lover and I want to see more of why that is. I've loved seeing how she is tough and brash but when it comes to CK, she has the biggest, softest heart out there. That's only a PART of why I love her, and b/c of her character, I love how Clark acts when he's around her.

I can't wait to see more develop with both of them. Separately and together.

MOD EDIT

You saw it differently. That great. And yes going for the woman he loved.
No, he didn't go after the woman he loved in Power and Requiem. He was dwarfed by her and reduced to rubble in the episode. It was regression at it's worst, and I'm not alone in that opinion as Power was the worst rated episode ever on this forum (Loved it or Hated it thread). Many posts in that reflect that, and it's because the way Clark acts around her character.

He's different around Lois. Always has been and always will be. There's no doubt and no arguing that the guy is more manly, more assertive, more confident and more of a leader when he's around Lois' character. He gives out and isn't immasculinized by her character. He becomes more flirty, sarcastic, witty and charming around her, and all that is evident in the scenes and dialogue especially this season's episodes.

MOD EDIT big big Lois Lane fan here for over twenty-five years and I am a Clark fan too and a Clois fan. However just because I am a Lois Lane fan does not make her above criticism her or Clark. And at any rate I was not criticisizing the Lois Lane character just going to bat for my other favorite Clark Kent

Closed for cleaning...this thread may or may not get re-opened. This is a big job and it will take awhile.

MOD NOTE: I want to clarify something to all posters here. KSite invites discussion not debate in its threads. Discussion is the exchange of ideas. Debate fosters a win/lose mentality that we do not want at KSite. There are few debate threads at KSite and they are clearly marked by a moderator, not a regular poster. Anytime you see a thread start to become a debate thread instead of a discussion thread, you should be reporting the first post taking it in that direction, and then DO NOT respond to it in the thread or elsewhere at KSite.

Please do not post a message to the moderators in any thread, we will not see it until far too late, it is off topic and you will get warned. Use the report post function or PM any moderator.

Some posts that maybe should have been edited or edited further are still here. DO NOT talk about other posters, or other groups. If the thread gets out of control again, it will close permanently.

If you have to see Lois' impact on Clark....just go back to the Rabid...where Lois was pulling out her graveyard shift support.....and then Clark rushes off to save people at the fire under the pretense of getting coffee.....Lois says wow...the blur saved the people in the fire in like 3 seconds.....and Clark playing coy and saying "2 seconds actually" That kind of "bragging" is only reserved for those you really care about.

Nora - thanks for posting this discussion.

I love Clark this season. In the first few episodes he has exhibited and sustained his 'supermanly' attitude - confident, assertive, decisive, heroic, happy (and hottt!) - the list goes on. I don't recall this happening over such a sustained period in any previous seasons. There would always be something that would put that in reverse. The difference this season to me is that he seems to have a lot more belief in himself and what his destiny is. I wouldn't directly attribute that to Lois but....

....it seems to me that Lois is a great influence on him (and he on her). Many of the above characteristics that he has always had are often more visible whenever Lois is around, particularly confidence and assertiveness and manliness. Scenes that really stand out for me are ones like the scene at the Clark farm at the end of Rabid, and the first and last scenes in Crossfire. I mean he does behave differently around her, in a good way, and for obvious reasons - he is in love with her, she is going to be his wife!

To caveat this I think that each of his interactions with the different characters bring out different characteristics in him (some good, some bad!) ie he is different around Chloe as opposed to Oliver, as opposed to Lex, as opposed to Lana etc. They all serve a purpose in Clark's development to Superman.

However, as Nora has said this thread is about Lois' influence on the man of steel and personally I am really enjoying how healthy this relationship is and how much I enjoy Clark when he is around her. Therefore, I do think that Lois' is very good for our hero. This could be down to good writing, ED and TW's excellent acting, or their obvious onscreen chemistry. Whatever it is please keep it up PSW!
