Its time for her to start getting 'hints' and suspicions about Clark. She's been a part of the universe for 6+ seasons now, and at the end of the episode tonight, will start being around Clark in a dating/romantic sense.

Except for Clark's powers/abilities & weaknesses, some characters and some places, nothing about Smallville is now or has been truthfully canon-compliant. Heck from the pilot episode, Smallville has been massively AU. Knowing this, Clark would not enter into a relationship with anyone, much less initiate it. He would be alone. I've only heard this speech from him for 9 years. Now he's all of a sudden wanting to be in a relationship and start the whole lying process again. I understand that this may be the last season, but consistency would be nice or at the very least - elaboration of why he doesn't mind doing what he's always done but with a different person. So, last week when I heard about the demon Crowley who had the Colt, I immediately thought of one of my favorite books, by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet, Good Omens. I thought it might have been a one-off shout out. But lo-and-behold, in this episode they actually showed him, and they even made him English. In the book, Crowley is a demon who is trying to avert the Apocalypse because he likes humans and human society. Supernatural's Crowley is a bit more selfish, but still pretty similar. I kept expecting Aziraphale to pop up as well (Crowley's angel friend, who's also trying to stop the end of the world).

They felt the need to add freaks of the week and now intergalactic freaks of the week and then it's obvious now that what they are about is the Justice League, Watchtower and anything else to fill the gap that they think exists in the boredom of Superman. The Man of Steel remains conflicted, prone to error and in need of being rescued by more interesting people like Chloe, Oliver and whomever else they can come up with. Right now I'm watching Chloe rescuing Clark in real time while in the future Chloe and Oliver are rescuing him again. This Superman is a pathetic, weak alien who can't cut the mustard. I could be very wrong, but this is looking exactly like what happened last year with Clark trying to "save" Davis but failed. Only now its Zod and the Kandorians.

And of course, Clark'll fail - somebody(s) will die - and the first few eps of S10 will be him whining and moping cause he screwed up (AGAIN!).


Sorry for ranting, its just I can't believe they would run the same seasonal-arc one season after another; and we all know how the ep.
