I swear when he came in and gave the coffee to Lois he stuttered and seemed really clumsy, almost as if he was trying to emulate Christoper Reeve. He let Lois cut him off too. Then he returned back to normal.

Anyone else catch this? Was it just some bad acting or intentional?

EDIT: He definitely did act like CR's Clark Kent, and it clearly was intentional. I had another look and he goes 'I spoke too' then he jumps, looks anxious and speaks anxiously, saying 'Chloe... and she says you didn't come home last night'.

I find it weird, because he's back to normal right after that in the very same scene.

The reason I think it was intentional is because I'm sure the producers would have picked up on that and edited it out (or would they? There's no way to edit it out with only one camera filming [I presume] and there's no time to go back and reshoot the scene so perhaps they left it there.)

On the other hand if Tom Welling had forgotten the line then why would he pause AND jump when he remembered it? Makes zero sense. Same goes for the way he started talking.

Good stuff. I love analyzing. :)

It's because Lois stole his coffee. It was a funny scene. He wasn't trying to emulate Christopher Reeve.

It was a very funny scene. I liked it, another classic Clark/Lois scene :)

Lois was being Lois and Clark was being Clark. Like when she cuts him off when she is moving into to the talon and shoves the box in his hands to carry.

I loved that scene. I love how Clark, instead of getting offended by Lois or turning it into some power struggle, just rolls with it. "Sure, take my coffee if it's that important to you. Next time I'll get two."

I guess they are hinting at the disguise thing early on. Makes sense now if he gets more clumsier people won't suspect him to be Superman. I guess it will be a gradual transition to the Clark Kent in the comics.

yeah i liked that moment too, the little touches that count. Hopefully they won't turn 'smallville' like 'lois & clark adventures of superman' like they did with the 'plastique' episode lol :)

Yep, I edited my initial post to reflect my new thoughts on the matter after another viewing of the scene. :)

I agree I think he reacted that way cuz she stole his coffee and it caught him off guard, they even showed the cup with his name on it lol I thought it was a funny scene. He is doing a great job with Clark Kent, not trying to be so much like Christopher but still the classic relationship with Ck and Lois.

Yeah, but the hesitation/voice/jump is after she's taken his coffee and the scene has moved on. His reaction to her taking his coffee was more like :/ 'kk' but the stuff I'm talking about in my original post has nothing to do with the coffee.
