Did anyone watch? lol.
These live threads seem to do well for SV, Heroes, and even Terminator... everything else seems sleepy.

I watched it. And again it was another fun episode. The chicks, the cars, the fights. All great.

I watched it too. I thought it was an excellent episode! There are only 2 things I wish they would change/improve. I do not like seeing KITT change into 4x4 mode in every episode. In my opinion they should only use 4x4 mode 4-5 times per season. So far they used it twice in the first episode and then again tonight for a total of three times in just two episodes. Also the special effects / green screen scenes need some serious improvements. I am still very happy to see Knight Rider again and except for those two issues that I know can be improved the show is great!

My sister taped tonight's episode for me (I was running errands), and I just finished watching it a few minutes ago. the core story was good, but my main complaint from the premiere still stands...
...What in blazes is going on with all the sexual crap? Just when I began to think it couldn't get any worse, it did. Women in ultra-skimpy clothes (if you even want to call them "clothes"), Mike ogling a woman on KITT's dash, Sara and Mike making out on KITT, and then next week they're at the beach?! I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't just an excuse for NBC to show more and more sex every week.
If this crap keeps showing up at such a high rate, I may quit watching...seriously. To me, "Knight Rider" is about a hero's journey, cool gadgets, with mysteries and capers galore...not a so-called "beach babe" (or variant) every couple of minutes! :(

I liked the episode and the overall story was handled well but I have to agree... they are trying to sell the series on the amount of skin shown in each episode. I could be ok with the stripping down in the first episode as the situation called for it. But then having Sarah walk through a bikini party was a little much. And the whole beach thing for the next episode makes me roll my eyes a little. Tone it down guys and focus on the story at hand.

Am I the only one annoyed by that damn shakeycam? it doesn't add drama, it doesn't make anything look better, it's just superfluous and annoying.
That and yes, Knight Rider's not about flesh.

KITT driving toward the camera in the dessert with a hint of the original KR theme playing in the background... Nostalgic!

while i really love the show, the KITT 'transforming' thing is really starting to bug me...
i mean, why have it at all?
the four by four version if KITT can't do anything the normal KITT can't... we already know that KITT's bodywork and underbelly are nanotech enhanced and the weight of the car would prevent any damage from basic desert terrain... so it can't be the lift of the floor that the 4x4 would allow... so why?
Knight Rider is not an addon for Transformers, it shouldn't have these things...
aside from that, i'm really loving the show... the sex is a bit much but when compared to the original Knight Rider where we were shown various 80's hotties in tight / revealing clothing, the modern day bikini's don't seem like that much of a stretch of the evolution of the show to be honest...
Also another thing that's bugging me... why did they get rid of the 'view screen' that was used in the Pilot Movie as 'KITT's face' and replace it with the blue globe thing...
no offence to NBC or whatever, but it seriously looks like they're trying to turn KITT into a HAL3000 or something lol

No a couple of scenes there I was complaining. I was getting a little sick.

The shaky cam sucks, I don't get motion sickness or anything but it's annoying.
People who complain about the "sex" in this show seriously need to go back and watch the original series, hell even in the pilot there were scantly clad women, mainly the actress who was the first "MILF of the week". Okay, so she wasn't jumping on Michael and making out with him but what she was wearing was rather skimpy, specifically the top. Not to mention that the next time you see her, she's clearly forgotten her bra and it was cold outside. Not to mention later episodes where there was a good amount of skin. >_> Granted it was "innocent" but still, the original series isn't nearly as much as some of you think.
Anyway, this episode was significantly better than the first one.

I agree on pretty much all fronts. If they want this show to succeed they need to:
A) Focus more on plot and acting than skin and sexuality.
B) Buy another steadycam, a.k.a. cut down on the neck-breaking film work
and C) Ditch the transformations. The first KITT was great because it was just a car that had been re-dressed with hi-tech. This KITT isn't even a car in most senses.
As for the special effects, the original series had no access to digital effects and worked fine. We don't need flashy effects if they give us good, solid stories with reasonably good acting (the latter of which have yet to see from anyone except Mike).
Sure, there were girls and romance in the original, but even the beach scenes were tasteful. I'm teetering on the edge of removing the series from my DVR list (I watch "Bones" and DVR KR). It needs to improve fast or I'm afraid I'm not the only person who will drop off the shows viewer-list.

While I still think the 4x4 transformation is not necessary and should be ditched together with the kittcave (SCC), I must say this episode was way better than the pilot. It had more of a classical Knight Rider vibe to it.
Even the Turbo Boost was done better, but they should get rid of the KR logo under the car. It makes KITT look like one of those children cars from Hot Weels!
BTW I agree with Kardiac. The original series didn't have access to CGI and worked fine. CGI seems to be over-used in TV shows nowadays...

I've only been able to see the first 20 minutes or so, but I do have some nitpicks.
First off - the bluescreen/greenscreen behind the "race" at the beginning was terrible. I don't remember oldschool Knight Rider - or even the Dukes of Hazzard - looking that bad.
Second -If KITT is so advanced, then when he came up with the bio for that girl it shouldn't have misspelled "height" as "HIEGHT." Surely there are editors to notice these things...
And then finally - what was the point of "killing" Mike Traceur and renaming him Michael Knight if he's still going to meet people from his past anyway? At least Michael Long got a new face out of the deal. I'm really not digging that... especially with random people recognizing and seeing him.
Either way, I like the ep so far - was just super busy last night and was unable to finish it... it's a heck of a lot better than Bionic Woman but something is missing that was a part of the original series. Maybe it was Hasselhoff being cheesy, Bonnie being smart and sexy without taking her clothes off, and the charm of Devon Miles. Can such a show still exist (beyond on DVD)?

I'll have to watch it later tonight, and look for the things you mentioned Craig.
I hope they listen to fans, & tone down the skin scenes. It really dumbs the show down, and takes it off track. Also, I agree they missed the mark, with "killing" Mike Tracer, and renaming him. That's stupid. Without a change in appearance, it's nothing more than an alias.
They've got a good thing going for them, if they make a few adjustments.
I hope it's not too much to expect at least a few Hoff & Bonnie cameo's
(they had better not let me down either). ;)

All excellent points, Craig. Hopefully someone from the show does read online forums and will start making some changes to the series.
On the bright side, I found KITT's transformation into attach mode more enjoyable in this episode. Maybe because it happened during the day and I couldn't notice those awful blue neon lights..

I finished the episode. And another complaint: When Sarah went undercover at the party, they played that same music played in the spy scene in Smallville's "Sleeper!" I was trying to wash that episode out of my head and here they go reminding me of it, lol.

i guess this is what the creators meant when they said, "KITT is a child and is just starting to learn..." lol...

I agree with you about the name change.I'm not sure that can be done very believably without at least a face change too. I think that's one thing that seems to be a fan pleasing move like the turbo boost that TPTB didn't think out fully.
Funny you should mention the Devon Miles part. I was just thinking as I watched the episode that we haven't had Graiman talk with Michael near as much as Devon did. In fact, has he had a conversation with yet? I can't remember one.
Has anyone else noticed that they actually have the original voice modulator on there. You can barely see it underneath the new one, but it's there. That was one thing I did really like.
That original voice modulator is probably one of my earliest memories from the show. I think that is one of the things that hurt the feel of previous spin offs. I still find it a bit weird watching the first half of season one with just the blinking light.
As Far as the transformations and the KITTcave, I do think those give this a little more of a Viper feel than Knight Rider especially with the spinning platform.
As far as this episode specifically, did anyone else think it was going to be a remake of a season on episode of the original? Specifically "Give me Liberty or Give me Death". I watched it just before the new one. Luckily it didn't seem as close that one when actually watching it.
Even with all that said, I do still think this is the closest in spirit to the original we've gotten so far.

Have you noticed that the three lines from the original voice modulator ARE visible in the "new" one? Look at it closely and you'll see it. I think it's a nice touch.
I'm really warming to Val Kilmer as the voice of KITT after all. I wasn't expecting to.
