Preview: Rose returns in 'Doctor Who'
This week on Doctor Who, Rose is back. But The Doctor....
... is dead.
'Out Of Time' aka 'Turn Left'
That's right, it's finally time for Billie Piper's PROPER return as Rose Tyler. But don't go expecting a reunion with Mr Who just yet, because within the first ten minutes our beloved Doctor is dead.
What if Donna had never met the Doctor on her wedding day? What if she'd never even got engaged at all? These are some of the questions this episode asks - and answers, in quick succession.
The future's bleak
It's pretty obvious what the world would be like without the Doctor in it. Death, misery and all manner of terrible things would ensue. We cycle through the recent history of Doctor Who as history is rewritten and lives are lost.
The one person that seems to hold the key to it all - albeit unwittingly - is Donna. Helping her come to terms with her newly-found VIP status is Rose, who has been dragged from her parallel world to help sort out the ruddy mess.
Rose du Jour
Ahhh yes, Rose. Come Saturday, when this episode airs, I predict much division over the return of Miss Tyler.
Unfortunately it seems that Billie's comments about "forgetting" Rose's voice are actually valid. This isn't quite the Rose we remember - in fact, she sounds more like her high-class ITV2 alter-ego than chav queen Rose.
Who said What?
Here are some select quotes from the episode, with the now-customary stars inserted to keep you wondering.
"It's like there's something I can't see."
"This stapler says '***'."
"I think you should leave me alone."
"You're not going to make the world any better by shouting at it."
"Why won't you tell me **** ****?"
"England for the English."
One more thing...
Something BIG is coming.
Who has been calling this episode 'Out of time'?

Ohhh! I'm excited so excited about Rose. But if Donna dies... I don't think I can make it through the season. :(

I keep coming in here hoping to be spoiled, though I know the episode itself is probably better if I'm NOT spoiled. Decisions, decisions...

Well, overall, if you average out the timelines.... no-one dies, sort-of.
6 out of 5, Catherine Tate sure can act.
I'm pretty sure i heard a laughing Darlek, but seeing as Darleks don't actually laugh, that narrows it down to 1 person.....

I have a weird theory now...
Donna Noble is "special," right?
Before The Doctor said goodbye to the Time Lady Romana, he called her the noblest Romana of them all.
She couldn't be... could she?

Was it me or was there something wrong with Rose's mouth? All in all a very good episode. Looking forward to the next ep. Even if Rose is in it.

I couldn't understand her half the time. It seems like Billie Piper forgot how to talk chav or something.

she did tend to slurr most of the time.

This episode was a fantasy come true for me. I'm a big time-travel geek, and love the whole "what if I had done something differently" situation. Kudos to Russel & the team, for the amazing attention to storyline continuity, tying the 3 series (Doctor Who, Torchwood, & Sarah Jane Adventures) together brilliantly, in one relative universe.
Extraordinary acting by Catherine Tate in this episode. She is awesome.
I guess we could attribute Billie speaking differently, to the fact that she has grown up quite a bit. Maybe somewhere, consciously or subconsciously, she played the Rose character differently. I love her big ol' pearly choppers. It's what gives her her own unique beauty.
True she wasn't as chav as the Rose we came to know & love, but hey....
I just finished watching her as the Hannah/Belle character, so she can pretty much do no wrong by me at this point.
Did you see her in the Confidential ("Here Come The Girls")? She looked totally different without any make-up. Nothing like Rose, but still extremely beautiful.
I'm anxiously counting the days, hours, & minutes to "Journey's End."
I'm super-excited!
[Mod Note:] Hey! I've edited the first post to include our standard episode poll, so everyone.... please go to the top of the page and vote! ;)

What if Rose's universe was a parralell universe constructed accidentally around the Tardis. In the confidential it states something catastrophic is going to happen to the Tardis. Seeing as the Tardis is capable of holding paradox's and realities, Rose's universe is capble of overwatching all other universes.

Hmm.... Could be. It's interesting to think about.
I heard that part. Didn't it say something about her parallel world being ahead of our timeline? That's cool to think about.
I've often wondered, doesn't the Doctor just travel within all of the universes in this reality? Could Rose's parallel universe be completely independent of this one? I'd like to imagine this the case. If so, there could even be a parallel Doctor & Tardis. It certainly leaves an awesome opportunity, for an exciting future storyline.
But, it is a big possibility that they may just destroy Rose's universe. We'll just have to wait and see. :)

Well, with a cliffhanger and a mega-awesome preview like that, all i can say is...Whoa.
Wait a second: a huge mega-crossover between series, LOADS of heroes from the past turning up, the possibility of multiple realities involved...sounds like the heroes are in a SERIOUS Crisis next week! ;)
A good, solid & enjoyable episode but not as good as the last three weeks so have to give it a 4. Maybe on its own it's a 5, but can't put it the same as the awesomeness we've just seen.
Billie - still as annoying, and even worse now she talks through her teeth. Hopefully, she'll be the one to cop it in Journey's End, but I doubt it!

I loved it, i started off saying , i hate donna, i can't believe is 100% donna episode, but the end I swear, I was loving the donna episode.
Loved it 5/5.
about billie, yes she forgot how to talk like rose, i admit it.
But I still loved it. I think I honestly still feel like a jilted boyfriend with Rose Tyler leaving the show.... you know even though its not the same anymore seeing the x takes your breath away.

Loved it, i can't believe that either as it was a Donna episode, shame Billie couldn't speak properly not sure what that was about, but for me that was the best episode of the season so far. 5/5.
Next episode looks amazing, can't wait.

I don't know why you lot hate Rose's new accent. Its a sign that she's developed alot sinse the last time we saw her. Its also a sign that she can talk ****ing properly now and not talk like a ****ing chav.

You won't like #12 then - apparently she's managed to get the accent again!

wow that was good! :D 5/5 but next week...
The Rose accent was strange, sounded like she had some mouth work done  It was good to see her back. Life without the Doctor is just bad lol
I was hoping this episode would explain why rose kept appearing on tv screens shouting 'doctor', and appeared at the end of partners in crime. I guess it will all be explained next ep.
Did anyone else notice rose talking more like the doctor? "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry".

Absolutely Brilliant! Great to see what happens without the Doctor there to stop it! I didn't know how to react cos there was funny moments, sad moments, and moments that had me shouting at the telly!
6/5 though! One of the best episodes ever!
