So I just read that Torchwood Season 3 (which pretty everyone says will be a go) is going to come in the form of a series of specials spaced out over time, rather than episodes in a season?

Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I hear it's due to budget cuts from the BBC but since Torchwood has shown to be so popular they couldn't drop the show altogether.

Anyway, if anyone knows anything one way or the other, I'd be grateful to know.

It's not been announced yet, so anything you've read is speculation.

There *are* big changes afoot though.

This is really just someone putting two and two together, with Who only being specials next year. The actual smart money's on Torchwood going family-friendly and possibly taking Who's slot.

Nothing's likely to be announced before Who finishes anyway, as it's expected either Mickey or Martha will be joining the team after the finale, or possibly both :)

EDIT:

Although reading the TV Guide story, it seems very strange that Julie Gardner would say anything about it - she's not going to be there by then, nothing to do with her! I can't see why they'd announce it there and not here, but I have to say even as an outsider I respect TV Guide so it does look true. Arse.

Huh, I'd heard all this stuff but only as speculations.

But if Who is going to specials only then...

I can't see Torchwood becoming family-friendly (No! Means no more Janto!, at least not so blatant!), but I've heard that rumor as well.

As for Mickey and Martha, I'd heard both of those as well but someone said they had both been disproved for various reasons.

*now am really confused*

But thanks for the reply, TMLS!
