I thought the fact they set up a scene with Lois and Jimmy there interesting, especially with Lois making a point to mention the happy hour there due to all the things that will most likely take place there in season 8, I saw it as a setup of sorts. It's nice to have a new "scene" as a hangout, as everyone's older now

No more "let's go to the Talon."

Now it's "Let's go to the bar on top of the skyscraper conveniently located across the street from the Daily Planet!"

But I like that they brought in another Metropolis set.

Bibbo first appears in a Suicide Slum bar called the Ace O' Clubs. When Superman comes in looking for information Bibbo, thinking this is "some clown in a Superman suit", punches Superman, damaging his hand. He gains respect for the Man of Steel because "yer tough". He would later refer to Superman as his "fav'rit" hero.
Later stories establish Bibbo as a longshoreman and former boxer, however he remains largely a comic relief character, portrayed as vaguely well-meaning but not too bright. His admiration for Superman remains based on physical strength, as his admiration is briefly transferred to Lobo when the Czarnian appears tougher.

this supposedly is where Davis Bloom will be working as a bartender per the season 8 spoilers, and apparently Lois will be frequenting this place.

I also loved that Lois said something like, "I don't think Lex would appreciate me spilling his secrets at the place he signs my checks..."

I love that they had Lois acknowledge that it would be beyond stupid to be investigating Lex and talking about it at the DP where he would be able to spy on her. So it makes the inclusion of the Ace of Clubs make logical sense. Much more than Ollie's apartment or even the Isis Foundation. (I wish they would also realize it makes no logical sense for Chloe and Lois to be living at the Talon -- a building that Lex owns.)
