So far, Smallville has gotten rid of all the older actors and actresses. It is unlikely that they will use Perry White for Season 8. The oldest in Smallville for season 8 will probably be Tom, followed by Erica.

I'd rather they somehow show Lex losing the DP to White for $1 as in the comics. They probably won't address this next season and just ignore it.

It'd make so much sense to bring Perry White back for Season 8, and that's the very reason it's so unlikely he'll really be back - the producers of Smallville don't like to make sense.
