Your question is very similar to someone else's who supposes that Kara was 'somehow' impregnated by Brainiac's 'design'. It's just MY opinion of course, but eventhough it may appear that Kara is experiencing symptoms that would cause many to first assume that it's Pregnancy, it could just as well be something altogether different. I believe that there IS 'something' Wrong with Kara, but it's NOT pregnancy. I think that during Kara's and Brainiac's last confrontation on Krypton, Brainiac INFECTED Kara in a way similar to the way he 'infected' Lana. My theory is that he's assumed her form with her memories and by the end of the episode... he was RE-claiming himself. IMO, that's also why Lana hasn't recovered and seems worse.

I've already read in one of the previews that Kara is trapped in the Phantom Zone, so Brainiac must've sent her there while Clark was gazing at himself as an infant. Besides, neither Clark or Kara had any Superpowers while on Krypton. I don't see how they would have been any real challenge to Brainiac even together. Speculations are all we have, so it's going to be a 'have-to-wait-and-see' type of thing... Right?;)

I got the impression the real Kara returned but was somehow infected by Braniac who takes over her and possibly sends her to the PZ in the next ep. She was acting as herself until she fell to the ground. It seemed that the Braniac ooze was attacking her brain.
