A curious mind would like to know what those who saw the episode thought of George. Yes it was only a second, but was he good looking, and did it seem that he and Chloe had good chemistry,if you could tell?

Yes he was good-looking. Couldn't tell if they really had any chemistry since they didn't interact much, but Chloe looked like she was on cloud nine, it was really nice seeing her happy and smiling that much. Clark thought so too. :)

He wasn't a bad actor, but again you really don't see a lot of him. I doubt he'll appear in the real timeline, but you never know.

Chloe was basically in 2-3 minutes of the AU, but she has some significant time with Clark right before he enters the AU and after he comes out. Some Chlark scenes there to warm your heart, especially when she embraces him after he returns from the AU :)

Thats honestly what worries me though. Because as long as Clark is in her life, she wont be fine. They are inacapable of just being platonic friends.

But I think it would be adorable if Clark was there when the two met and Chloe pretends not to be impressed. And then Clark smirked knowingly and as they're walking away, Chloe turns around to look at George's butt.

And then George turns to check her out as she's leaving, catches her checking him out, and grins. And then she flushes beet red, says something to Clark about, "He's just not my type," and Clark scoffs like, "Uh huh" because a) she's still blushing and b) she's obviously trying to get another glimpse of George while they leave.

Might be a little awkward with Clark, but there aren't a bunch of other options. I suppose that could work with Lois, though I don't see her just holding her tongue. And Lana and Chloe don't seem to have that kind of relationship right now that they would have that kind of scene.

But if they could work it out, I think it would be adorable.

That would be a very enjoyable episode to watch: Clark proactively using his powers in a very ordinary way to bring happiness to his best friend in a way that she would appreciate because she's a woman, but Clark, as a guy, wouldn't really care about -- I mean the whole match-maker thing. It would be a very selfless act, as opposed to the ham sandwiches he was bringing her for lunch even though she hates ham sandwiches.

Reading this thread about this episode makes me think of people in the real world (you know, the one we live in when we're not online :)) who carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. They seem to have a humility, peace, and sense of humor about them that allows them to make a difference in the world without driving everyone around them crazy. I believe this humility comes from a deep love (the love of God, if you will) inside of them.

When Smallville's Clark Kent gets that, he will stop moping and truly be Superman. It's not the super powers that make Superman, it's his strength of character.

I think they could. It sounds like MR won't be back, so I think the writers should have Intergang/ some mob, start up. Then TPTB could put 'George" in as the cop trying to find them,and Clark/Chloe/Lois also trying to track Intergang/ the mob down. Plus, they could have Chloe and George team up, and Lois and Clark team up from time to time, to foreshadow future events.

Also Clark will have a man as a friend, instead of a whiny boy (Jimmy).

I agree....which makes me slightly nervous. If Chlark doesnt happen....will Chloe never find love that measures up?? I want Chloe to be happy....preferably with clark. But if Chlark never happens the writers better not kill her or make her alone and sad. :( Come on Clark...wake up already!!

I feel the same way. I love Chlark and want it to happen but if it doesn't I want Chloe to be happy. And I'm getting just a little sick of seeing Chloe sacraficing everything for Clark and the world but getting nothing in return. If anyone deserves happiness it's Chloe.

We know hero's have to sacrafice and Clark does but eventually if he gets his happiness Chloe should too.

As a friend, she is. As a sidekick... the guy is destinied to be a star reporter and the only thing he does is ask for Chloe's help anytime he wants to investigate something, even in a AU where she doesn't know him. He was able of investigate for himself in the earlier seasons and the guy has superspeed, he could read an entire library in a couple minutes. He doesn't need Chloe as a sidekick, if he asks for her help is just because he is lazy. I think that Chloe's arc is important to show why he won't have any sidekick in the future, and that is why all his "secret keapers" are paying a high price this season, IMO.

I was so glad when Clark was doing his own research in the last scene of "Apocalypse", we need to see how he becomes a reporter.

I just want Chloe to be happy...and I havnt seen Chloe smile like that in a very long time. So if the writers want a happy Chloe...it wouldnt be a bad idea to bring George around. ;).

I think it would be good to see George come into play sometime next season if Allison Mack is going to be in any episodes next season. I think it would be cool to see her end be, rather than a tragic death, getting a job at another newspaper (since she was obvioulsy fired from the DP) and meeting George. You can have him on and not have the story be about her. In the same sense that you had him on here and the story wasn't about her at all. In fact, introducing him to the show would be a good way for them to explain any "absences" she may have if she doesn't sign on for the full K.

Lois: Nope; sorry. She's on a three week long Shag-a-thon with Tall Dark and Sexy. I'll tell her you called when she gets back. If she still has the energy to dial your number by that point. :p

If Chloe sticks around, I don't mind them bringing in George. AS LONG AS the focus of the story remains on Clark. But, you know, you get sub-plots going on or things going on in supporting characters on the periphery of the story. And since Clark has been so reliant upon Chloe in the past, it would make sense for it to be hard to let that go...but if Chloe's not available to him because she's *ahem* busy, then it will remove any temptation on his part.

And also, from a future perspective, I would like at least a hint that Lana and Chloe both grow and become lucky in love so that when Clark's happily married in future, he's not looking back on his teenage (or post) years thinking how they lost their shot at happiness (which he saw in the AU) because of knowing him.

They can introduce George and have Chloe be happy (and the same with Lana and what's-his-name) without that being at ALL the focus of the show. Just a nice way to wrap up the years of unnecessary emotional angst the show has heaped onto all characters involved.

We call him George because that is what the rumor spoiler was. They said his name would be George Dean to pay homeage to two previouse Supermen. The spoiler was wrong but George is easier to call him that since we've been calling him that since before the ep. started.

It's intersting that they didn't actually give him the name. Maybe they cut it out. They may have done this because they didn't want to be to obviouse with showing he was like superman.

I don't know if Clark was searching for Chloe or not. Either way it seemed that the ultimate goal of his conversation with her was to get her to help him find Lana. He seemed taken aback by her distance from him, how unaffected she was by him/his charm, and that she wasn't able to help him because she was planning her wedding. I think it took him a moment to process how hugely different Chloe's life was without him in it. Then belatedly and very honestly he told her he was happy for her.

I think that maybe he expected Chloe's life to be missing something without him. Or at least that Chloe would be ready and willing to help him find Lana. I guess it makes sense that Chloe would be Clark's second resource after the phone book.

Yeah, that was kind of the impression I got. And it does make sense. Wouldn't everyone be sad to see that it's possible their best friends are happier WITHOUT them in their lives? But I also think he was genuinely happy for her. He looked like a guy who was both a little sad at seeing how her life was different without him in it and genuinely happy for her that in that AU she was honestly happy. He didn't look like a guy who was having his heart ripped out of his chest and set on fire.

Which makes me quite happy, actually, because that would have made him a Grade A Jerk if he was totally UNhappy that Chloe was so happy in that other world without him.

I dont think he was completely devestated...but it seemed obvious he wasnt overly happy either. He wanted to be happy...because chloe is his best friend, and he wants whats best for her. But Clark also wants to be the number one in her life...and he doesnt seem to realize that wont happen unless he steps up and makes something happen with her. If he doesnt, he has to accept being number 2. Which..obviously he cant.

I don't know what he was expressing to be honest. However, I do find it ironic that just last week Clark gave Chloe that 'look' and she made a comment about it being one of his superpowers that can get her to do anything. Then, within a short period of time, he used that same 'look' in the AU and it got him nowhere (at least with Chloe).

I really think Clark was actually surprised, he was all happy that he found her, even when he said "You and you boyfriend?", but the moment this guy arrived and said "fiance actually" and he saw the ring (too much focus on the ring IMO), his face was kinda the one he had when he met Jimmy, awkard. Then he saw her smile and of course he was happy for her so he smiled back. And the way he looked on deffinitely meant something.

I think he was looking for Lana (yeah Lana first, cause well you know, it's all about Lana :rolleyes: ) and all his friends, to see how everything went, he found Chloe first so he asked her about Lana. That's all. :)

I think Clark not making love to Lana with powers is due to his fear, not an actual physical impairment. After all, Bizana got in on just fine...no "woman of kleenex" for her. Maybe they even did it in flight, for all we know...though there does tend to be a leverage issue.

Rather an aside issue, but I've heard the argument that Clark NEEDS Blue K in order to strike up romance in the future, and I don't agree. He's been able to make love to Lois in both LnC and the comics for years now without a little blue piece of home. He should be able to do the same in Smallville when the mood strikes (and the lady is willing, of course).

But what if the possibly Bluek Bracelet of Destiny never comes off the wearer/recipient/Naman's woman once the bracelet is put on? Just like Zor-El's Bluek ring wouldn't come off of Clark? Then they'd never have to worry about ruining a "moment."

The best part of George wearing the "MPD" sheild was knowing that, in S6's AU Noir, AU!Clark was the one with the "MPD" sheild when he arrested AU!Jimmy for AU!Lex's murder. AU "George Dean" = AU!Noir!Clark Kent, both of them were MPD cops.

I think that the bracelet should be a symbol, not a parasitic "entity" of sorts. It should be a symbol of what he gives the woman he thinks is his soulmate. He should choose the woman, not the bracelet. And she should choose to keep it on as a symbol of the love they have forever, not because she just can't get the blasted thing off.

When it comes to Zor-El's ring, I'm sure it was intentionally made not to come off so that Clark couldn't try to stop his evil plan.

So this Blue K bracelet...does it only stop his powers when he's...pardon the crudeness...inside her? Because if it has any kind of aura at all, then she'd better hope that she never needs saving. Clark rushes in to rescue her but...oh no! The "bracelet of mind-blowing sex" has just unfortunately tolled both their bells because when he actually has Chloe in his arms, he's about as useful at saving her as he is at fixing that stupid tractor.

Plus, I can't get around the idea that kryptonite is radioactive pieces of Clark's homeworld. First, the idea that Clark has to essentially poison himself or be poisoned by the woman he loves (that is, to constantly be poisoned - which essentially he is - whenever he's around her) is disturbing to me. Second, that Clark would have to do so with pieces of his own blown up homeworld is disturbing to me. Third, that having Chloe (or anyone) constantly expose themselves to such radioactivity is disturbing (and worked out so well for Lex in the comics, what with that radiation poisoning thing). And fourth, I don't like the idea that Clark has to become less than the entirety of what he is - that he has to give away those powers in order to be with the woman he loves - in order to be with the woman he loves . The very thought not only disturbs me, it goes against everything that I think the Superman story is all about. It's not about (and I think even Smallville will get this right in the end, as this is the lesson he seems to be learning) denying a part of yourself in order to be happy. It's not about giving up part of yourself in order to be with someone you love. It's about being everything you are and everything you want to be and being loved for the entirety of that. Not a part of that. Not half of yourself. Not half of Clark. The entirety of Clark/Superman.

That entire message is undermined, IMO, my saying that Clark has to give up being "Superman" in order to be with the woman he loves. That even just under the sheets, he has to be just half of himself. He should be everything that he is, he should rejoice in everything that he is...he should be able to embrace everything he is. And he shouldn't have to give that up for sex. If the woman he loves is going to love him for who he is, then the physical demonstration should be allowed in a likewise atmosphere. Isn't it a contradictory message to say otherwise? Which is more beautiful, more poignant, more a message that they would want to send and that you would want to hear for your ship of choice? "Chloe loves Clark entirely for everything that he is...but they're feeling a little randy so he'd better get some blue K stuck to him so that Clark can lose all his powers and become just Clark instead of Clark/Superman" or "Chloe loves Clark entirely for everything that he is, and her love has made him accept all that he is. And though he was worried about her when he learned how to touch her without hurting her, she had such faith in him and the knowledge that he wouldn't hurt her to not shy away. And he loved her enough to never ever hurt her, even as he was demonstrating the power and strength of his love for her in the most fundamental of ways."

Of course, if the bracelet is your thing, then it's your thing. But I'll never get behind it. Because, again, I don't think that Clark should ever have to become less than what he is to be with the woman he loves. It's something he tried with Lana for years, and I think they've been trying to show that there's something fundamentally flawed with it. Wasn't that really the whole message underlying the "Mortal" arc with him, which ended quite well when he died? No, he should be able to be everything he is, and he should be accepted for everything that he is. And all that he is should be able to adore and worship - even physically - the woman he's with.

Just looking at some stills of the true one's bracelett and I think the stone is more of a teal/jade color instead of blue. So I really don't think it's made of blue kryptonite because remember, Clark used his powers around Khyla and she was wearing the bracelet.

As for Chloe and George, she deserves to have someone think the world of her and love her unconditionally, Everyone does.

As this show loves to draw parallels, I'm afraid my milage will have very. Last year's AU parallelling this year's AU with regards to both "George Dean" and Clark Kent being cops at the MPD was no accident, but design. Chloe chose to love and marry an MPD cop in the latest AU, just as she's always loved Clark, too. Just as Chloe's line to "George" was that she'll be waiting for him parallels Chloe having told Clark in the past in Obscura that he's "worth the wait."

Well, but you mentioned it being unable to be removed once it was on so that the moment was never ruined. And no, we don't know how the bracelet "works" but then again, I don't think it "works" at all - except in the same fashion that an engagement ring "works" to symbolize the love two people have for each other. I also think the bracelet had turquoise and not Blue K, so, in my mind, this is all academic.

As far as not being able to take it off goes, though, I still think I would rather someone choose to wear something that symbolizes their love for the other person, as opposed to even choosing to wear it at one point and having no choice thereafter. It's like a wedding ring. I think loving someone means waking up every day and choosing to stay with that person, to continue to get through the bad and good times with them. Not sticking around (and keeping that ring on) because you don't have another choice.

The bearer of the bracelet should keep it on for the same reason she decides to stay with Clark every day, even though not every day will be a walk in the park. She should choose to keep it on because she loves him. It shouldn't be something that, like a tattoo, once you put it on you must keep it on because you don't have another choice. The PTB so love their parallels, very few of them are accidents, I'll wager. AU!"George" and AU!Noir!Clark paralleled as MPD cops from one season to the next season is just too close timewise for me to believe, credibly, that is was just an accident. Any arguments made that it was an accident and not a deliberate parallel just sound like a rationalization to me. The only question for me is whether they'll fulfill the promises of those parallels. That remains unforeseeable. So you're right, we'll just have to wait and see. *shurgs, too*
