Many people on this site absolutely despise Lana and her entire involvement in the Smallville show now.
I have always tried to not have a dislike of one character, but even for me recently Lana has become rather pointless in the SV universe.
HOWEVER, at the end when Brainiac was speaking through her, it was a good emotional scene, could feel Clark's sadness IMO.

I know what you mean, I'm not particulary fond of her, but that scene was very, very, sad, especially when Chloe came in and saw Clark crying by Lana, it just broke my heart

I agree. I was never a Clana fan, but i was far from a hater. I just think its time for clark to move on.
But that final scene was heartbreaking, poor clark:(
I agree that was very sad, but now I'm wondering...how the hell are Clana gonna break up now that she's in that state? If he starts being attracted to someone else that'll make him a dog, and if he breaks up with her before she gets out of her state same thing, and if she breaks up with him afterwards that will probably make him feel like absolute ****. So I dunno.

i have not liked lana since in episode 100 she left the kent party to comfort a drunken lex with her engagement ring.
at the end of episode 100 we see clark standing in front of a large stone angel.
in veritas we see lana and clark sitting in front of a stone angel.
I felt bad for lana.
I do not want to see anyone suffer like that. Trapped in your own body.
Especially in the same episode where you see Dr. Swan's wheel chair.
It made me sad.

We're all wondering the same thing. And some of us are hoping her recovery and the Clana break up will happen in Apocalypse, which is in 3 more episodes. :)
I'm hoping the recovery happens before that, they try again to make it work and lana finally realizes that she can't do this, in the same eppy, and goes to live with nell. Clark realizes the same thing at the same time and they leave as friends.

I love KK she is one of my favorite actresses...she difinately the prettiest of all actrsses out there...but Lana the character is not relivant to smallville anymore and Clark & Lois need to begin

That was indeed a sad scene.
But what I am wondering is...whenever it is that she does come out of it, what will she remember, and how will she feel?
The "Kal-El, you're too late" sure didn't give us a good outlook on the situation.

That to me, as far as their relationship ending, makes the most sense.

For those of you who know me/or read my postings...you know I couldn't be called a Lana fan in any shape or form...however, this was one of the very rare times where I've felt for her and wished she wasn't in the state she was in. I look forward to see how this thing is developing.
On a side note:
Anybody think that AlMiles are trying to make us feel bad for Lana, now that she is leaving? Making us forget about all the bad things so when the character says her final goodbye we will feel sad she is gone? We all know how much AlMiles love this character and I don't put it past them to try to play to our sympathies.

I'm not a Lana fan, but I hated what happened to her in this episode. For 2 reasons. One, because thats a terrible, awful thing to happen to any human being, and she doesn't deserve that. And Two, because this just becomes another reason for Clark to be more miserable, and feel guiltier.

Lana has been through a LOT of tough times. How about that knife through the hand? Yikes. Some writers like to have Lana suffer. I felt sorry for her too.

I don't think so. I think they are trying to portray why these two won't end up together - a bonafide reason. They clearly love each other but I think it's more that she leaves Clark too vulnerable and they will both realize this and come to the decision jointly that if he's destined to be a great force for good, she'll always be a target for evil and they need to part ways.

It doesn't matter because after everything that has happaned between them he is never going to break up with her.She has treated him badly for years. The whole Clana relationship has made me lose respect for Clark. Lana has just been on a i hate you,no now i love you trip for years and Clark always lets her back in. I don't know why he doesn't have more respect for himself to be treated that way.He may love her ,but I don't think she loves him. Your "true love" does not treat you thi s way.

That doesn't make much sense to me. Lois Lane will become a bigger target for evil plots (see TH's speach in LnC), and that won't keep Clark from being with her. And if Lana and Clark love each other so much, than why have Bizarro say Clark doesn't love Lana, and why show how much they are growing apart in the previous episodes?

Yes, now Clana is going to whine on with Clark never getting over this nasty girl and wrongly taking the blame for something that is not his fault.
As for Lana, I have little sympathy. She's in excruciating pain? You mean just like Lionel was those months she kept him captive and tortured him by putting his hand in a beartrap? Or like that woman she held captive at ISIS until she died from lack of medical care? Gee, I'm so sorry for her.
Plus, kara gave herself up for Lana, when by doing so the entire world full of people are thereby endangered? I don't consider that a fair trade at all jsut as it was not a fair trade for Jonathan Kent to have to die when Clark insisted on bringing Lana back to life despite Jor-El warning him repeatedly that the universe would insist on balancing the scales. NOt a fair trade at all. Lana isn't worth it.

Really they seem to have everyone meet a dark end.
Chloe was a bright, excited reporter with a dream...now she ended up infected with the same thing of the people she studied, and loses her dream job.
Lana was a sweet, naive girl who ended up with more people around her dying and turning up twisted inside, and now like this.
Clark used to have a sense of humor and sweetness about him that's always been slowly destroyed.
Pete ended up bitter and missing out on the rest of his life and leaving his friends behind.
Martha ended up widowed and moving away from Smallville, forced to forge a new life.
Jonathan ended up dead.
Lionel ended up better off because he reformed but he's never going to be granted the acceptance he craves.
And of course Lex, I don't even need to explain there as he's completely lost the battle he fought for so long.

they definantly could have written better plotlines for Lana, it seems to much since season 4 the writers put Lana into some storylines just because she was Lana and they needed something for her to do.

I agree. Whether you hate Lana or not, that was a sad scene.
I don't know if I choose to, or if I do it by accident, but in sad scenes like this I always put myself in the characters place.
Imagine you were Clark, and the person you love most is suffering imense pain, but couldn't move, talk or express any emotion and you don't know if you could ever bring them back.
I didn't like the "You're too late Kal-El" part. I would have preferred to have her not talk, and hear Clark cry.

It was sad....... My sis said she was holding back tears (considering she hates Smallville that's a very, very good thing!!) I hope that they give her character a sense of closure in future episodes....... :'(

My question is simple. How can you hate Lana? Please explain. *Azra-El*

I think the word 'hate' is a very strong word. In all honesty, if Kara had gone with Brainiac in the beginning, Lana wouldn't have got hurt. Whoever said "Lana isn't worth it,", thats ridiculous, shes the woman Clark loves, and Kara feels responsible.
The scene was sad. I cried my eyes out.

I like Lana this season very much. I've been trying to remember what she was like in the earlier seasons when I was not a fan of hers. I think what I didn't like was Clana because I could never believe in their relationship. All lovey-dovey and angsty. The show never gave me anything that showed they enjoyed each other's company.
But, if I try to look just at Lana's character based on what I see now and what I remember from the early seasons, I think Lana is actually a great character. She's complex and flawed. She loves Clark but is all wrapped up in her own needs and desires. I'm not sure what they will do with her now that she's catatonic. But I am intrigued.
The show used to revolve around Clex and Chlarkana. Clex is pretty much over. It's so 1-D now. They just plain hate each other and you can't write interesting stories given this. Which leaves Chlarkana which is being played up in spades this season. All those hints TPTB are dropping. I like!

I agree. I've never been a fan of Lana or Clana, but those scenes after Brainiac attacked her made me feel so sorry for her, and Clark.
The final scene in the clinic really made me feel for both characters.
