How do you think "Veritas" would have faired, as it is as of today, if it was the actual Season 7 Finale, and no new episodes of the season were made? "Veritas" was retooled after more episodes were ordered, so well never know how it actually 100% was, but on an intelligent guess/hypothesis, how do you think it would have faired?

Everyone should remember when answering this that they retooled it and took some elements that would have been in it if it were a finale back out.

Yea, thats right, I worded my question differently, and added a bette description, so that people wont assume that this version of "Veritas" was how it always was.

If this was the version that was going to air as the season finale I would have been a little disapointed and maybe not felt the usual clif hanger and longing for the next season to start right away/

LOL, happens to the best of us. It happens to me a lot when I see a news article on another site and think hey, let's check if KryptonSite has it up... and then... then... :( I don't post the message.
On topic, I think some of it would've stayed the same. The thing with Kara and Brainiac would have stayed the same, maybe Clark crying out for Kara's departure and the real end of Lana... :(

its kool i just thought i was going to be original coming up with this subject lol.
i was going to ask close to the same thing like if this was the finale how good would it have been compared to others and yadda yadda.
well to answer the point of this thread based on spoilers and trailers it seems to have everything that could make for a great finale. a major villian flashbacks and perhaps a new power. i wonder if most of that stuff will still be in it and wonder if the cliffhanger will only be seen in the deleted scenes on the dvd or if they are able to work it into the new season finale.

I'm sure the deleted scenes will probably have something to do with Lionel dead and Lex going insane or on a trip about the whole veritas coz he won't be regular next season.

It felt like a mid season cliff-hanger. Alot of development for the ships, and a hell of a lot of back story development (i gotta say that the little actor who player the 8 year old Lex is brilliant) and generally a good paced episode.
There was as usual too much talking (Lionel went on, and on, and on, and on , and orrrrrrrn), and not enough action, but the climax sfx sequence was pretty awsome with only a little bit of cheesyness.
It definatly wouldn't have stood up as a full series cliff-hanger, even though it had some powerful emotion at the end.

YEa good episode so far but as a finale would have been bad. But who knows what was changed when it became not the season finale.

I agree it should have been a mid-season finale. But the important elements were taken out, so that should explain why it wouldn't fare well as a season finale IMO.

Yep, definitely mid-season finale caliber, not season finale. But like we've said, many of the important parts that would have made it a season ender were taken out.

I think they did some re-editing to cut out some good stuff since the Strike was over to not show more of the REAL Cliffhanger. Only because they need to build up to the season finale at this point.
