Season 1, episode Cool. This is a cute story about Clark and Lana's first 'non-date'.

This is my first one to post publicliy but critisism is welcome. =)
"Blue is a good color on you." she smiled holding up the shirt to him.
"You think?"
"Yeah it brings out your eyes." She smiled again. There was a long awkward pause.
"Uh so did Sean ever call you back?" He said trying to break the silence.
"Yeah but I think I'm going to take your advice on this one. After all that drama with Jenna last year, I doubt it would work out. Besides you are right, he's a total dog."
"Sorry Chloe. You know I didn't mean it like guys dont like you. I just didn't want to see you get hurt."
"I know that Clark. You were just being a good friend. Besides I'm not desperate enough to jump at the first guy when there are others out there..."
Another awkward pause but no one was smiling.
"Uh so Radiohead? Never heard them before."
"Yeah they're Lana's favorite band. She lent me some CDs and they sound cool."
"And I heard Lex hooked you up with a limo too?"
"Yeah he kind of pushed the whole thing on us."
"Really? And what does Whitney say about all of this?"
"I dont think she told him. You know Lex told me that they had a day planned in Metropolis together but he wanted to watch sports on pay per view with his jock friends instead."
"What a jerk."
"I know. If I were her-" He paused before he said too much. He knows Chloe is sensitive about his feelings for Lana no matter how hard she tries to hide it. And after Sean he didn't want to see her hurt again. She knew what he was about to say so she desperatley changed subjects.
"So I checked my laptop and your horoscope gives you good karma for tonight. At least thats a good sign right?"
"Finally some good news." he smiled back.
"But it also says that if shes wearing something new, she thinks it's a date..." she looked at him and giggled.
"Do I have to start printing out bumper stickers that says this is NOT a date.?"
"Come on Clark you know you've been waiting for this since you hit your first growth spurt." she laughed.
"Chloe dont you have something better to do than to bust my chops?"
"You're no fun. But yeah I'm going to grab a coffee and head to the Torch. Have fun on your-"
"Dont say-"
"Date!"
"Get out of here!"
"Ha ha bye!"
"Mom can you come iron this shirt for me?"

As she put her makeup on, Lana examined herself. 'This is not a date' she thought over and over. 'Why is that so hard for everyone to beleive? Is there no such thing as just friends anymore?'
"Knock knock."
"Hey Aunt Nell."
"Hey sweetie. So whats this I hear about you going to a concert?"
Oh God not again please she thought.
"Yeah Radiohead in Metropolis."
"Well I was suprised to find you still at home. I thought you and Whitney would already be there at a museum."
"Whitney decided he would rather watch a fight on pay per view with his friends instead..."
"Well that was very insensitive of him. But who are you going with now? Some girlfriends?"
"Actually Clark invited me. He even go a limo. Well actually Lex Luthor set that up-"
"Is he sweet on you?"
"Nell, were just friends. I must have said that a thousand times today."
"Well okay, I just hope this doesn't cause conflict between you and Whitney."
"He's going out with his friends, so I'm going out with mine. If he calls dont tell him, I want to tell him myself. He can be over zealous."
"Fair enough, I hope yall have fun then."
"Thanks. You know you are the first person who hasn't doubted me today."
"I know how much you love Whitney sweetie. You dont have to explain anything to me."
Hopefully that would be the last time someone asked her...She knows Clark has feeling for her. Maybe it's mutual...maybe not. Thougth Whitney was being a jerk, she still loved him. He understands and respects her. But she cant help but thing if things didnt work out with them maybe...maybe Clark and her--Her cell phone rings, it's Chloe.
"Hello."
"Hey Lana. I'm heading to the Torch and I wanted to wish you fun on your non-date."
"Finally someone doesn't just assume it's a date!"
"Ha ha yeah I just rode Clark pretty hard on that. He's really excited."
"Thats great. Were going to have so much fun."
"Yeah I heard Radiohead was your favorite."
"They are."
"Well I'm headed to work. Call me tomorrow and let me know how it went."
"I will, and thanks so much!"
"You bet, bye."
"Bye"
Suprisingly Chloe has been supportive of all this chaos. Once concert and the whole town is talking. She's suprised Whitney hasnt heard....- there goes her phone again, Clark this time.
"Hello."
"Hey it's Clark. I wanted to give you a heads up. Our ride will be here in half and hour."
"Thanks, I'm almost ready as we speak."
"Alright, see you in a few."
"Bye"
She finished her makeup, dried her hair and just as she spritzed on some purfume she heard her ride pull up.
"Ok Lana you're going to have fun. And it's not a date!"
She headed downstairs, grabbed her purse and was out the door. She took a deep breath, wove bye to Nell and opened the car door.
"Hey Lana."
"Hey. Wow Lex really hooked us up. TV and a mini bar. Cool!"
"Yeah I know. I never rode in a limo before."
"Me and Nell did once when we went to a play."
"Sounds nice."
"Yeah you dont really get a chance to have one on occasion."
"Yeah, small town." They both laughed in agreement.
"Even witht the hard time everyone's been giving me, I know were going to have fun."
"I think I spent the better half of the day convincing people this is not a date."
"I thought I would have to explain tonight to Nell, but she seems to understand."
"What about Whitney?"
"I haven't told him. He want to hang out with his friends, some I'm going to hang out with mine."
They both smiled but the eye contact broke when the car went over a pot hole. Nice moment killer.
"Would you like something to drink?"
"Please."
"Heres you a coke."
"Thanks Clark."
"To our non-date."
"Cheers!"
