'The Luthors are a lost cause'

Ummm, didn't he just say to part of Lex's psyche (Alexander) that he will always be there for him? This was two episodes ago. From what I understand, the above statement is simply Clark dismissing the Luthors'. This goes against everything Superman (the man he is to become) stands for. Supes never gives up on people, that's what makes him great. If he starts calling criminals a lost cause then why doesn't he just snap their neck? It's too late for them after all...

Very bad script writing. Atrocious.

He was just kept in a Kryptonite cage by one that has claimed to be on his side. How many times has he trusted the Luthors now just to get betrayed in some way? What would you have him say?

And Clark had been kicked in the balls.

I think it's so soon after the torture and such that at the time he's given up. I like him thinking no one's a lost cause like usual, though.

You obviously don't know Superman then.

In the Kingdom Come comic he refuses to kill the Joker, even though he massacred loads at the daily Planet, including Lois and Jimmy.

But no, he was kept in a big kryptonite cage here. That's totally understandable....

I think he will never give up on them completley but he has been betrayed by them multiple times and he is fed up.. and i think he was just persuaded kara not to get involved with them at all.

:rotfl: I was just thinking I may be a little mad if someone nailed me in the balls.
