'The Luthors are a lost cause'
Ummm, didn't he just say to part of Lex's psyche (Alexander) that he will always be there for him? This was two episodes ago. From what I understand, the above statement is simply Clark dismissing the Luthors'. This goes against everything Superman (the man he is to become) stands for. Supes never gives up on people, that's what makes him great. If he starts calling criminals a lost cause then why doesn't he just snap their neck? It's too late for them after all...
