Did I hear Tom Welling blow his line last night? And no one on the crew caught it?! I'm pretty sure he did...This exchange between Clark and Pete took place (maybe not these exact words, but pretty close):

Pete: Now without my abilities, I'm at a disadvantage.
Clark: Face it, Pete. Even without your abilities, you were at a disadvantage!

Uh, that doesn't really make sense. I think Tom meant to say: "Face it, Pete. Even with your abilities, you were at a disadvantage!"

Am I right? What does everyone think?

I'm pretty sure he had said, even without my abilities, you were at a disadvantage. And as soon as he said that, I had remembered the swimming race where Clark won without his abilities.

Clark said, "even without powers, you were at a disadvantage."

I took it to mean that even when Clark didn't use his abilities, Pete would lose. But it could've been clearer if that's how it was to be interpreted..

For me, it seems like an ironic joke:
"come on, Pete! Even without powers you always had a disadvantage ". No chance to win for Pete against Clark .... ^^

It was very awkward to hear when he said it. Whether he blew it or not, it defintely sounded weird.

pete said something about really being at a disadvantage now, looking at his broken arm in the cast.

yeah that line seemed slightly out of place.

This is how it went:
Pete: I gotta admit...one on one was a lot more fun when I had my powers. (Looking at his arm brace) Now I'm really at a disadvantage.
Clark: Come on, Pete. Even without powers you were always at a disadvantage.

What I got out of it was that Pete felt like he was at a disadvantage b/c of his broken arm, but Clark assured him that he was always at a disadvantage whether with or without powers. Basically Clark was joking that he was always the better man since the beginning.

But I do understand that the lines would've flowed better if Clark said "Even WITH powers..."

The director wouldn't have seen it? It was like how it was supposed to be I think...

The line was correct, Clark was talking about his own powers. Remember at the end of Velocity, Pete wanted to play Basketball.
The rules; Pete:"Game of 21 by 2's - 3 pointers, outside the crack - No powers"

Clark:"Not today Pete." (Leaves basketball bouncing) Awesome scene!

IMHO, this is what Clark was referring to:)

TW is usually "right on the mark" with all of his scenes:)
