We know a little bit more about what is going on. It seems this guy was a bit of a survivalist, a gun enthusiast, and what not. He was having trouble with the city, and with the IRS. They were going to take away the house that had been in his family since the 1930s, the house where he was born, and where he expected to die. I guess he just kinda snapped, and decided that if he couldn't have it, nobody was going to. He shot up four fire trucks before the explosion made him retreat.

I heard the explosion from where I work, and I could see the fire from there, too. It's about three miles from my home. I was a little nervous last night, as you can probably tell.

I still wish Superman were real - he could have resolved this without all the gunfire and explosions and paramedics getting shot and such.

I agree that world needs Superman. He would take care of the terrorist problems and crime problems.

Here is a better link. It is still quite a nasty situation. They can't even send firefighters in there because they're not sure what he rigged up. I don't know this guy, but I do know that neighborhood. It wasn't real great, even before he went off.

OK, they found a body in the house that exploded. They don't know who it is yet. It could be their suspect, for all they know. Which is really scary, because he was a tough old SOB, a dangerous marksman, and survival nut, and if it is him in the house it means that somebody did all this *to* him. Now that, my friends, would be a scary person.

Oh my, that's terrible. I'm really sorry to hear about this. The world does need a Superman, it's gotten to be a rotten place to live.

Yeah, one would usually think that Kansas City is rather peaceful, at least compared to New York or Los Angeles. Not lately, though. I'm afraid you're right.
