I actually enjoyed that. Marsters was fantastic, thankfully using his "Spike" British accent - I realise he uses his real one in Smallville, but it just isn't right!

Good return for the team, some great one liners and much better writing and acting than... well, the balance of last season really.

More like this please.

Indeed, even though i missed the forst 15 minutes (there was an extended scene preview on the BBC interactive so i saw where John first meets Jack) i thought it felt less cheesy than the previous torchwood.

The team are still pretty pathetic though. They can get themselves killed off in almost no time.

just because I'm a git and feel like giving the americans a taste of their own medicine:

- The canisters aren't radioactive, john hart (james marster's character) thinks its a diamond, but it isn't, it's actually an explosive disk. talking of which, the team fools the DNA signature by mixing all their blood together, making it unclamp from john and allowing jack to throw it into the rift.

- John kills someone the minutes he comes out of the rift

- Gwen is getting married

- There's a hint at jack's past, possibly a daughter?

- It's fairly obvious that there's going to be an office romance element

- oh yeah, the blowfish gets shot in the head by jack appearing out of nowhere.

I missed this show. I loved JM as a guest and his acting is always just excellent. Glad Torchwood is back :D

I just recently started watching this show (saw a bit of a previous episode then watched the Season 1 finale and then this, the season 2 premiere) so I didn't get some of it but what I saw I loved!

James was amazing (as always), I love the character of Tosh (and they should feature her more thand Gwen who seems a wee bit annoying) and Captain Jack is too cool for words.
Also, as a slasher any show where pretty boys kiss is a winner in my book!
