i personally was really let down by the season finale. they half assed and rushed through all the storylines. i know this is mostly due to the writers strike but it just really screwed up the pacing of everything. there was hardly any room at all for emotion. also the peter storyline was really frustrating. there is no way peter could be that stupid. i mean i could maybe believe one person telling him about adam not being enough but then hiro and then matt. come on! it took 4 freakin people?! thats dumb. i dont mind nikki dieing really but that was a pretty empty death scene. they didnt leave any time at all to hold on the emotion of it. just boom and thats all she wrote. but nathan, now that really pisses me off. he just finally accepted his destiny and he was becoming one of my favorite characters. his story was not over. and to end it so quickly for a character like him is crazy. he deserved a better send off then that. also it looks like noah is the one who did the deed. wtf?! that just makes me wish that noah stayed dead. at least noah had a really good and powerful death scene. he didnt even really die and he got a better death scene than everyone in this episode. another retarded move by peter is why didnt he use his blood to heal nathan. he knows that he has adams power now and adam used his blood to heal nathan once before. they should have peter save nathan at the start of next season because thats just dumb. they just really screwed this up and just when the season was really starting to get good. its a shame.

yeah the hiro adam storyline was half assed as well. its so much of a let down to see it after the fact with hiro reflecting on it in his cubicle. also what the hell is hiro doing back in his cubicle? i thought that he moved passed that. its like they deevolved him. the whole point of his character is that he felt trapped and confined in that life and that he broke out from it. why would he go back now? same thing with noah. i thought noah was passed the point of working for the company. i mean these characters are supposed to be on journeys and growing. some of them dont look like they are really growing all that much here. the only that seemed to grow alot of nathan and they killed him just when he was getting really cool.

Haven't you ever wanted to just go somewhere and hide from everything?

He can zone out in his cube and sort out his thoughts (and escape from the crazy world of heroing for a while).
Eventually something will nudge him out of his funk and it'll be "game on" again.
(maybe he'll see Nathan's obit) ;)

i thought it was ok, this episode wasnt meant to be a finale so i didnt really expect it to be great

I though it was great, what was there not to like?

1] Peter vs. Hiro vs. Matt!= Peter wins!

2] Maya gets shot, and revived by claire's blood

3]HRG gets to see his family again(briefly)

4]Hiro and Kensai's verbal exchange was classic

5] I love the Mohinder and Sylar scenes, awesome!

6] Peter using tk on the vault(he forgot about super strenght)
but it is was still a classic comic book scene!

7] Micah now has the ability to talk to machines without tactile contact? (the street lights while the car is moving)

Okay, I just included about 5 potential threads, but you get the point!

Not too happy with the finale. Lots of plot holes. With the WGA strike, I'm not too surprise. The whole season was rush.

I liked that Peter was finally kicking some ass! Unfortunately, it was the wrong ass! Sheesh!

The only thing disappointing about this finale is it came three months too soon. Otherwise, it was pretty good.

But sometimes things are bigger than we are. I still support the strike even though I'm sad to see Heroes go.

I think Tim Kring did a pretty good job modifying this episode to be a season finale. I'm sure it could have been better, but the writer's strike kinda messed everything up.

This episode really sucked.

I mean, it was supposed to be a season finale!!! it had to be awesome, to leave mysteries open... instead everything was too predictable. I mean, it was so freaking obvious Nathan was going to get shot!! And the tidbit they gave us of Volume 3 was not exciting at all... we already knew Sylar had escaped with the cure, so again it was OBVIOUS he would get cured. Maybe it would have been better if it hadn't been a cure and instead he would have got another strange symptom we weren't expecting, so as to leave some mistery behind.

As they've said before, all the storylines were rushed up, no emotion, stupid deaths, stupid character's decisions, everything was predictable, and I also think the way Hiro locked Adam up was desastrously explained and it was 0 exciting... I mean he ended up in a damn coffin.... I was thinking maybe Hiro would have left him wandering in space or something like that...

All in all, I think this was the worst episode of the entire season; maybe my expectations were too high but really I've never watched a finale this boring! :(

PS. The writers' strike is not an excuse. Originally this episode was the finale of Volume 2, so it was supposed to be stunning... besides there would've been a short break now so it had to bee a strong episode... instead it was slow and not surprising...

I really doubt this was ever meant to be the finale for Volume 2. Volume 1 was 22 episodes, why would they intend Volume 2 be 11?

This was supposed to be the mid-season cliffhanger. Volume 3 will essentially pick up as the "cliffhanger" when the strike is over.

Season 2 was always intended to be made of two volumes.

Season 1 was one volume. So is season 2. This last episode was supposed to be the mid-season cliffhanger.

Better then Last Season. I give it a C+ Maybe a B.rather then the D for last seasons finale. Where last season got an A and this season got a C+
Hiro could have put Adam down there several different ways. Froze time dug hole or teleported him down there. Or any combination of the above.
He has a sword what about cutting off his head.
But then Adam couldn't come back could he.?
I agree it was rushed and to many questions left unanswered.
And Peter what about Freezing or Metal melting power, maybe you forgot you had them. But you Phased just a couple of weeks ago. Seems like an easier way in the vault.
I don't think Nathan or Niki are dead unless they got another series or movie deal.
Nathan seems like the only one with common sense.

actually volume 2 was only meant to be 11 episodes. kring felt that the full season story arch last year was too much for audience to handle. midway through the first season, after a break, the shows ratings really dropped. kring felt only having 11 episodes would hold audiences attention better.

Season 1 was 22 episodes and was an entire volume, yes, but long before the writer's problems this 2nd Season was intended to be divided into two volumes. The first half (Volume 2) of 11 episodes, and the rest (suposedly another 11) Volume 3.

So, if everything had been normal, "Powerless" should've only been a volume finale and a mid-season cliff-hanger (because Volume 3 would have been quickly resumed short after the holiday hiatus)

Instead, due to the known issues, Season 2 was completely reduced to 11 episodes, containing only Volume 2, so episode 11 was modified to serve a little more as a kind of season finale and resolve some more stories.

But as I've understanded, if the writer's lift the strike up in forthcoming months, and Heroes resume their production, the next episodes will be aired as Season 3.

This is kind of my prediction regarding what I've read, but given the state of things anything could happen, it's really chaos.

Not sure if this was the worst ep of the season/volume though, there were a few worse ones earlier on I'd say. But it was definitely a weak finale.

The entire season was a disappointment compared to last year. The new characters and storylines weren't impressive, and they got off to such a slow paced start that it wasn't possible to properly develop them in only 11 episodes. The finale was weakly written, and kind of pointless.

Not to mention, there was freaking commercial every 5-6 minutes in every freaking episode. The problem: introducing way too many new characters without developing past characters. Hiro/Adam in feuding Japan shouldn't have taken that long. Too much emphasis on the Wonder Twins. For Pete's sake they were running around South America for half the show. How many damn Company middlemen are there? Then we have Elle, the Electric daughter, her character as a sociopath was good, then next thing you know she went Mother Teresa. Does the whole world have to stop for Claire? Peter, stop with the love drama, get going to become a superhero. There was absolutely no chemistry between Peter & Caitlin. Believe it or not, the only one whose character actually evolve was Matt, consistent in his acting. Shuresh is more of a plot device. Nothing stunning in this season. I'm tired of seeing new powers, I want characters fleshed out. I'd rather see a hero open a jar than zapping someone or living for 400yrs. Sorry for the rant, I drop a Monday night class this semester to watch this half-stellar show.

it was never intended to be a finale. Becuase of the writer's strike the ended it there. It was the last script.

thats not totally true. true it wasnt meant to be the season finale but it was always meant to be the volume finale. they had this season planned into two volumes way back before the writers strike. they felt stretching a single volume through a whole season was too much for the audience since last season they had lost some viewers by the end. so they key storylines that were explored in this volume were always meant to be tied off in the last episode. i think they had meant to leave a bit more open then they did because they expected to jump right into the 3rd volume for the 2nd half of the season. because the season got cut short they had to cram more in there which hurt it a bit. but this last episode was always meant to be the finale to this volume.

I was so disappointed with season 2 and the season finale. I ended up ranting about it the day after at my site. I'm actually glad the strike shortened the season, because the way seaosn 2 was going, it was painful. Unfrotunate, since season 1 was pretty good.

I just want Haydn off my TV.

here's my (extended) rant

was I dissapointed in "powerless",
more like I was dissapointed with the whole of season 2.
and its more than just complaining about it and saying how much I hate it. It was actually a real dissapointment and kinda made me a little upset cos season i was so good and i got so attached to the show and then season 2 came, and was just so bad.
and unfortunately ive lost nearly all my interest in the show and have focused on smallville, cos that way better. I hope season 3 of heroes is good.

well i personally thought there were redeemable moments in season 2. the flashback episode to the night from the season one finale was great. the HRG episode had some great moments. i thought the saeason was a little weak closer to the start and then the last two episodes of the season. the episodes in between weren't so bad. i still think its way better then smallville. smallville fell apart for a me a couple of seasons ago. clark hasnt done anything but sit around on the farm and pine over lana. he has quit college and shows no sign of progressing himself. lana is just exhausting to watch now. the show has become old and repetitive. now with super girl in the show i just cant take it any more. so im definately looking more forward to heroes then smallville. but thats just my opinion.
