Did anyone else catch that Madea reference when Chloe was talking about Lana and her new powers???

It was something along the lines of "Lana makes Madea look like..."

Meaning Madea from "Madea's Family Reunion" and "Diary of a Mad Black Woman". I just thought that was so hilarious. What a great comparison.

Anyone else enough it?

Whoops, I meant...anyone else enjoy it???

Lois mentioning Madea was the only thing that made this episode good. It made me glad I was sitting in the den, eating, while my bro was watching Smallville.

I caught it but I thought they were refrencing the first wife of Jason, from Jason and The Argonauts, who killed their children when she found out her husband had been unfaithful to her...

yeah that's what I thought too..Madea and all the wrath that she brought in ...I think maybe the writers were referring to her...no tthe Tyler Perrys one...

You are right ..it didn't look right to me at first..I did a whole screenplay on her story..one of my faves..and it sort of fits with the whole wrath of Lana theme

Smallville has always used a lot of mythological references, so I'm sure Chloe was referring to Medea from the Jason story, and not the movie. Medea has been a well known classic revenge figure for a couple of thousand years longer than movies have existed. I'm sure Tyler Perry was making the same reference.

That's who they were talking about. Not that Tyler Perry crap.

After Medea killed her children, she ate them and had sex with the dog. She got pregnant and had a beast.

It was a mistake for someone who did not know of they mythical Medea. Tyler's character is big on revenge and will kick anyone's a$$ who gets in her way.

Maybe Tyler based her loosely off the mythical one.

Actually, according to Tyler Perry, the name "Madea" is a nickname that young African kids once used. It's basically a shortened form of "mother dear".

That is true, moviefan2k4, and he did say he based her off his aunt.

It just interesting to me that two characters with the same name can be so hellbent on revenge.

See, but the difference is "Madea" sounds my "my dear."

Medea, who killed her kids and ate them in Greek mythology sounds like "Meh-dee-yuh."
