Ok... after the flying Kara was doing in this episode, I think the excuse that making Clark fly is 'too expensive' is pretty much gone.
The effects looked pretty good actually (it's no Crusade, but still...) so... now what? No excuses for non-flight Clark except for the fact that that's all that seperates Smallville Clark from Superman?

I know TPTB said 'possibly' flight in Season 8, but after seeing all the flying Kara's been doing, I can't possibly believe that keeping Clark grounded is for budgetary reasons.

Dun worry, Clark will fly next episode hahaha. I think sooner or later Kara's gonna teach him how to fly...by practising jumping off the Eiffel Tower lol.

Here's the thing. The mentality that flying will make Clark Superman is just DUMB.

Flying is not what makes Clark Superman. Its the choice he makes to put on the red underwear outside the blue tights and fight the Neverending battle that makes him Superman.

I definitely agree. I'm trying to think of any reasons there could be for Clark not flying (or at least making attempts) now that budget is basically a non-issue.

It's not the budget that keeps Clark earthbound. It's AlMiles' OATH of "No tights, no flights," pertaining to Clark, of course.

Dumb oath. They should reconsider. Imagine the ratings. Doesn't EVERYONE want to see it happen? Why save it for the last episode? Leave the tights out - give us some flyin'.

They've stretched and broken that in enough ways by now(it was Kal-El, not Clark! really!!), I highly doubt that them "sticking to their guns" is the reason Clark isn't flying.
