View Full Version : Hollywood Ending or Not

There was a quote from the crazy fan guy about how the Hollywood Warrior Angel movie wanted to have happily ever after with Warrior Angel and his girlfriend but that it wasn't being true to the comic book.

Is this talking about Clana? What does it mean? Are they really going to finish it soon!?

I don't know. If there's anything this episode is telling us is that Clana is doomed. You can see all those little, cute moments between them being completely contaminated by Lana's lies and her obsession to bring Lex down.

Mello Penelo

I hate Clana, but in the movie version of Great Expectations (not the Claire Daines version), Pip and Estella had the classic 40s Hollywood ending where they ran off into the sunset together, where in the book, they buried the hatchet and moved on with their lives.

I want Clana to end. The sooner the better.

see what I wasn't sure of was whether TPTB were saying they were going to do the Hollywood version of Smallville or the comic book version of Smallville, but I do think it was some kind of important foreshadowing.

paolinki25
10-24-2007, 11:46 PM
Well, if DC comics still exists for this show lol, I'd say they have to follow the comics.

CountryGirl84
10-24-2007, 11:50 PM
aren't they breaking a lot of the former "rules" lately though?

paolinki25
10-24-2007, 11:52 PM
They have, but I do remember reading AlMiles saying there were things things they couldn't change: Clark becomes Superman, Clark ends up with Lois and Lex becomes evil.

CountryGirl84
10-24-2007, 11:54 PM
so maybe what they were actually saying is that they'd LIKE to have a Hollywood ending for Lana and Clark but they just can't because the future has already been written and they have to follow what the comic book says

paolinki25
10-24-2007, 11:57 PM
Perhaps. Let's remember there are aspects that cannot be messed up with, especially when you have one or two possible Superman features coming.

I feel so bad for Clanas. they are rejoicing at the fact that despite Lana being in a relationship with Clark.. Her mental state is still flawed. Clark's love is not strong enough to help her battle her demons.lololololololol.

Go on Clana..do the happy dance for an unhealthy relationship

yeah, Clark-Lois story is great (or maybe you mean Superman-Lois, depending on if you read the comics or watch the movies. In any event, CLark/Supermand & Lois' love story is great when played by Christoper Reeve & Margo Kidder and Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher. Tom Welling and Erica Durance? SV just doesn't show enough to make me think that there's a future for this version of Clark and Lois.

CountryGirl84
10-25-2007, 03:52 PM
Thats because I don't think they were ever really trying to make a future for this Lois and Clark. Its all Clanaville all the time in AlMiles land. They're comic book geeks who have a hard time getting past her flowy raven black hair and mysterious eyes. :p

CDLBLUE
10-25-2007, 04:18 PM
While they have violated the canon abominably, they can not change it beyond recognition, Lois and Clark are a constant in the cultural universe, as sure as the north star, other than that, look at it logically, Lana had sex with and married and divorced , Lex Luthor, Superman greatest enemy, can Clark ever trust her again, she might go back one day to her ex, with everything Clark might tell. the Fortress of Solitude, the secrets of Krypton, Kara, etc, even if Clark still felt the same way about her ( Lana )as he once did, it just all too risky.

CountryGirl84
10-25-2007, 05:02 PM
Yeah CDLBLUE I just rewatched cure and as I was watching the kitchen clash of the titans scenes I couldn't help but feeling that she just knows way too much. I don't remember feeling like that watching it the first time but I think after seeing what she was capable of this week in Action it made those scenes feel different.

I think they were foreshadowing changing Lana's fate from the comic book version to smallville's version. Maybe Lana is dead or is going to die unlike the comics where she marries Pete Ross.

I picked the second choice, though I don't think it's necessary that Lana dies. I think Clark will find out what she's really like, and that's enough. She seems to be trying to out-Luthor Lex.

I think it'll be a little more complicated than either scenario (hopefully). I'm torn about the whole lana thing. But what I really want to know is if Lex will make his final move to the dark side through killing Lionel.

I want Clark to choose to leave even though he loves Lana. Giving up what he wants for what he needs to do. I don't want Lana to die or leave Clark saying she's holding him back. It has to be his choice.

Actually what I really want is... Lana is finally caught in web of lies and and Clark sees what a b!tch she is and he and everyone tries to get Lana... because Lana knows Clark's secret... she fights him with Kryptonite in her hand.. and/or pulls a Van and gets K-Bullets and is about to shoot Clark when either, Chloe steps in front of Clark and takes the bullet for him or tackles Lana to get the gun (like that one scene between Chloe and Gabriel in Hidden) and Chloe gets shot... or Chloe gets the gun thinks she knocked Lana out and is about to get the rock away from Clark and just as she lifts it off his chest Lana shoots Chloe in the back...

Yeah... if someone has to die for Clark to be superman I want it to be Chloe, at least give her that honor please... and as to who kills her... either Lana or Lex.

I think that there is a very good chance that Superman will appear and be unattached to either Lana or lois. Just like LnC supposedly affected DC with their marriage of Lois and Clark, Spiderman 3 and Smallville may be coming to the realization just as the script said tonight, the superheroes obligations are too great for romantic tie-downs, thousands can die. Too great a penalty for the benefits of a romance, much less a marriage, a state that may be fine for someone named Richard but not for Superman.

Of course, the relationship with a sidekick that is smarter than the LL girls combined has double value and should include benefits. Chloe steps in.

It seems like the episode was trying to say that we'd get a Hollywood ending, but that it wouldn't necessarily end up like the mythology like fans would expect.

SteveS

Naw, in the grand scheme of things and the superhero being alone, they are foreshadowing the death of the current comics relationship of Superman and Lois as being passe/ marriage, that is.

Lois and Clark still have a wonderful passionate relationship in the comics.Unlike Lana, Lois can't cook worth a damn, but she bring s Superman's favorite pretzels home.Clark brings her freshly sqeezed OJ to bed.THey are very different yet complete each other.THAT is what is lacking in Clana. The spiritual link is just not there anymore.

SO CUTE! I love Lois and Clark in the comics. He's always knocking on her balcony window and sweeping her up into the air for kisses.....*sigh* so sweet... I haven't read any in years though.
Clana has been tainted from the get go I think. There was always something holding them apart, I think they always thought it was the "secrets and lies" but I they actually just don't work. I hope thats what they figure out this year. Clark is so smitten right now though... I dunno where they're going with it. Bring him up so he can crash even harder?

i am for the clana ending. not so much because of smallville, but because of the 3rd superman movie. Clark just seemed so much more happy with Lana than he does with lois, and in return, Lana likes clark back, when lois treats him like crap.

so yeah, go clana.

I'm for the Clark ending.
Clark should be the one to break up with Lana. He should open his eyes and see that she's no longer the sweet girl next door.
Lana shouldn't die. I see no point in that. I don't even see the point to make her evil. They are using her in the wrong way since they can't have what they want. I'd like to see him start developing feelings toward Lois, but I'm not so optimist.
Anyway, I'd want to see Clark realize who he is and, who he wants to become. But it has to be him to make the decisions.

Sister! They are twins separated as babies.

Here is a scenario how about: Clark finds out what happened to Lionel, is so disgusted by what she has done that he has no choice but to wake up and realize she isn't that 14 year old girl he was so in love with anymore he dumbs her. Realizes the world needs him becomes Superman, somehow gets back into journalism and falls for Lois. All of which happening without Lana being with him or being dead.

Here's my theory for the end of the show.

A Clana loft scene where Clark tells Lana, "I want to spend my life with you. I'll never love anyone as much as I've loved you. You don't have to break up with me. We can make this work. We can live here and have children together. I'll give up my powers for you."

Lana tells him, "No Clark. I don't love you anymore. It's time for you to move on."

Clark cries. He marries Lois in the future, but always knows he loves Lana more than he could ever love Lois.

I hate the Clana, but I have no faith in the show ending without it. It will end this way-- and with no payoff.

Lana gets shown up for being a double crossing manipulator and moves on, becoming a famous designer in Milan. Chloe adopts her pen name from when the Luthors blacklisted her- Lois Lane- and we get our Chlarkage.

Lois*Clark should never happen on this show. 1. The writers cant write a love story to save their lives 2. Clark is a little punk on this show and isnt man enough for Lois. She has a thing for guys who want to make a difference in the world, not ones who whine every 5 seconds about their bit** ex-girlfriend then takes that ex back even though she banged his future enemy. 3. Doesnt it take awhile in the comics for Clark and Lois to even get together? Why have it happen on this show. Though Im sure in about 5yrs Clark will regret having Lois see him as one of her best friends.
I still dont know how the Superman/Clark love for Lois and Lois' crush on Superman is going to work in the future seeing as how they already know each other. Unless the show ends with Clark falling in love with her and her not giving a darn or completely oblivious to his feelings.

I voted for "Clark becomes Superman without Lana and Lois steps in the picture? (Assuming Lana gets killed by someone.)", though I don't think Lana should get killed. I think that she should strighten herself up, get over her grudge for the Luthors, and for her and Clark to realize they don't fit each other and just stay friends. Lois should't be a consolation prize because Lana died, she should be Clark's choice for the perfect person to spend the rest of *her* life with.
