Yes but.. what happened to him?
'"Don't ask, don't tell".
Is this because they really couldn't think of what to do with him?
Or maybe they're leaving it open for him to return at another episode?

Maybe MM locked both Knox and Bizarro in a room together! Think about the drama between those two if they were to be a room 2gether. LOL

Towards the end of the episode when he had Chloe on the rolling metal bed next to the one he loved.

Hmm. Two examples. Green Lanterns hide their lanterns in a small pocket universe so if anyone breaks into their homes, the thieves can't find their lanterns. They use them to charge their rings.
Example two was from the end of the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Kal-L (not El), Earth two's Lois Lane, Earth three's Alexander (not Lex) Luthor and Superboy from Earth prime were in a small pocket universe, keeping an eye on the goings on before the Infinite Crisis started. Amongst a few other people.

I was thinking he was more like Longinus(Roar, 7th Sign, Casca Books) the Roman Soldier that stabbed Christ While he was on the cross and cursed to live forever.
But he could have been Jack the Ripper, he said he was.

Nope. He's really a neutral villian, he doesn't go after one hero in particular. He's tangled with the JLA and JSA most.

He's pretty much tangled with most of the DC Comics roster.
Interesting about his origin in the wiki link.

I presume MM has his own special prison where he puts these superpowered foes. Or he's working with the Justice League and their rounding up all these villains putting them in a special prison.
Either way, I think Dean's character got locked up in a special cell.

Star Trek fans already know who Jack the Ripper was! And will be.
The guy on the horse in Lex's picture wasn't Napoleon, he said it was 1675. I'm not sure who a famous baddy from 1675 might have been.

Seems to be a bit of Trek in Season 7:
Chloe's power (and her fear of using it) - Star Trek, The Empath

Curtis Knox's desire for an imortal mate - Star Trek, Requiem for Methuselah

The "I WAS Jack the Ripper" line was definitely the best line of the episode. The way Dean Cain delivered it was just awesome.
And in answer to the topic question, "Curtis Knox" is apparently Vandal Savage, an immortal villain from the DC Comics who has played a major role in history. In the DC Comics, it turns out that several evil people from history, such as Jack the Ripper among others, were all actually Vandal Savage in his various guises. He eventually becomes one of the Justice League's biggest recurring enemies.

i think it was a real dissapointment that they didn't actually say what MM did to him, i know they're leaving it open for D Cain to come back but still they could have at least told us where he's being kept prisoner. plus to be honest i don't see dean cain coming back, he was asked the question in an interview and he pretty much said no because of his young son and too much work

Have to agree with you (and the several others who said this).
I thought Cain's performance in this role really saved an otherwise lackluster episode. I had a lot of gripes with this one, but Cain just sunk his teeth into that role, and the "Ripper" line was icing on the cake.

I believe it was, which is worse than saying he was Jack the Ripper. No one ever knew what Jack the Ripper looked like, but I've seen that famous portrait of Napolean and he looks nothing like Dean Cain. I thought that was pushing it a bit.

When showing that picture, Lex said it was in 1675, way too early for Bonaparte. I couldn't see it very well, but the clothes didn't look right for 1675, though.

I agree. I'm taking it too seriously lol. It's just that I've studied Jack the Ripper and know that his reasons for his murders went way beyond just taking body parts. But it was still a cool line delivered brilliantly by Dean ;)

And, most importantly, framing someone for murder by killing your own clone - Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, A Man Alone

If Lex made clones the way Dr. Bashir did, I could see where a clone might not be "alive" in the growing human sense.

You tell em, Odo!!!
Although, Commander Riker and Dr. Pulaski had unauthorized clones of themselves destroyed. Maybe that was a clobortion.

So, do the writers not know when Napoleon was alive, or couldn't they find a picture that looked more like 1675?

I thought Savage was a Batman's villian.....
Savage has fought against a number of heroes over the years in the comics. He started out in 1943 as a villain of the Golden Age Green Lantern.
Is Dr. Knox a homage to Vandal Savage? Smallville is suppose to be based on the DC continuity obviously the show has major alterations with the story plot, but the majority of the characters are intact.
Dr. Curtis Knox is really just an alias used by him (much like Vandal Savage is in the comics, his true name is actually Vandar Adg). Other names he's gone by over the years include Julius Ceasar, Blackbeard, Genghis Khan and Jack the Ripper. Personally, I like the fact that they brought him in and we don't realize that he's Savage, until he confirms that he was Jack the Ripper.
Martian

I haven't seen anyone above mention the really cool lines (in my humble opinion). Knox says to Clark that he will never know the pain of living forever and watching his loved ones die while he lives on. Clark has kind of figured out, though, that he will live forever, barring being killed. He replies to Knox that "We're more alike than you think!"
Which has a double meaning, to me. One, the immortality, and two, that they've both played the Superman/Clark Kent character.
As an aside, there was an episode on Lois & Clark where they both find out that because of Clark's alien physiology, he won't ever die, and it's pretty hard for Lois to take. So it's very fitting that Dean Koontz played Knox (aka Vandal Savage) in this episode.
