I need some really good thrillers. Saw the Ring, Jeepers Creepers, Storm of the Century, Feardotcom, etc. and those movies just didn't phase me. I need something horrificly terrifying. Post your scariest right here, if you dare. HA HA HA HA HA.

How about the original of The Vanishing, it's not technically a horror film but it gave me nightmares for weeks. I think it's Danish (not the Jeff Bridges, Kiefer Sutherland version.)

I haven't seen a scarey horror film in years :(

All the scary movies I've seen aren't scary at all...more like comedy!! :p

There are some scary games that I have played. Phantasmagoria is freaky. It is a Full Motion Video game, with real actors. Gives you serious goosebumps, especially in the dark.

I don't watch a whole lot of horror movies, but the classic ones like the exorcist and the omen are the best.

After all these years, The Exorcist still holds up. The craftsmanship was masterful, but the subject matter is what really sets it apart. Truly disturbing.

'The Day the Earth Stood Still'... That's a scary movie if you ask me. It's all in black and white.

I like John Carpenter's early stuff -- The Fog, The Thing, Halloween. Very creepy and scary without much blood and gore.

A good "slasher" (in fact, arguably the first slasher) is Black Christmas, from 1974. That movie creeped me out for days.

A good thriller that's not a horror movie is Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn. Clint Eastwood's Play Misty for Me is also a good non-horror thriller.

Then of course there's Hitchcock -- Strangers on a Train, Rear Window, Psycho. All excellent movies.

If you could give us a better idea of what kind of stuff you like, I could give you all kinds of recommendations. There are tons of good horror movies out there.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was good, both actually, the recent remake and the original. Though, I'm more partial to the origianl because the remake was more gross out scare tactics.

I highly recommend Cube. It is really suspenseful and scary. I mean really. I'm not even going to give away details. You can catch it on the Independent Film Channel.

Psycho is the paradigm of classic horror. Not much more I can say about it. Oh, there is another oldie but goody. Can't remember the name right now.

I just looked up that game as I'd never heard of it - it seems quite good.

Then I hit the disappointing bit "Banned in Australia".

I hate our censors sometimes :\

When i was like 7 I saw the beginning of a movie called "Hell Night" on Halloween night, then my parents busted me so I didn't see the end. A couple of years later it was on again, but yet again i was busted (yup, used to love horrors! LOL) ...soooo....still haven't seen the end. One day i'm determined to see the end of that silly flic, even though I'm sure it's a REALLY BAD, BAD movie! Aren't they all! LOL

I rented "Cabin Fever" the other night...couldn't even get through it! Hummm...and the parts that i did see didnt' make me hide behind my hands or a pillow at all! Now what fun is that! :p Humm...horror movies aren't what they used to be!

My favorite horrors (though DEFINITELY not fav. movies) are probably Ghost Ship (i thought pretty decent) and The Ring...

The original Candyman scared the crap out of me as a kid. I had nightmares for months, literally.

Yeah that sucks. It' banned there because it's really gore and has a very *controversial* sex scene. But they do sell them on ebay. It's really a great game! I play it every Halloween. It's a tradition. :)

As Arista 07 said HyperCube or HyperCube 2 these are great movies. The whole time you have no idea what is going on ;)

A good scary move is one that builds up suspense. The Others had lots of that and really sent shivers up my spine. Or is that down my spine?

The book of The Exorcist is quite scary as is the book of Dracula (unabridged). In fact you might be better with books altogether. Nothing is scarier than what's in your imagination.

Very true Maddy, very true. In fact, that's what scared me about the Blair Witch (yes, I watched it and got scared, I admit it) was that you never saw the "witch" or anything else for that matter. It just played on your imagination and it worked on me!

The original Excorist was pretty good, so were the Poltergeist movies, gotta love those, absolute classics!

I hate to sound cliche (cleeeshay) or pop-culture-esque, but A Nightmare on Elm Street was truly a scary movie. And the PBS childrens series Boobah (think Teletubbies, but satanic)

I love that movie! I own it on DVD...the music totally freaks me out!

I tend to lean toward the classics, obviously. I really love Rear Window, the Hitchcock version with Jimmy Stewart. All of Hitchcock's films are great, especially this one as well as Psycho and The Birds. If you're looking for a newer film, the remake of Psycho, starring Vince Vaughn, Anne Heche and William H. Macy is pretty good. It's a lot like the old one.
Speaking of remakes, the old version of Thirteen Ghosts is scary as hell. It's in black and white, but it's a goodie.

I guess James Whale's Frankenstein isn't really scary, but I watch it on TCM every Halloween. If you haven't seen it, you should see it along with The Bride of Frankenstein.

I didn't like the plot of this newly made movie, but it scared the crap out of me anyway..the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

You mean the remake, right? That movie was just plain sick...
