Clark's Hatred of Lex - Would he have killed him?

He told Chloe that he went in to that dam determined to see that Lex didn't walk out of there. But would he really have gone through with it? I know there's no love lost between the two of them but would the pro-life Clark have crossed the line?

I think there was another point in the series that this happened. I remember Clark saying "I was so mad - I wanted to kill him" sometime before.
I don't think he would have killed Lex. Clark has a temper, but I don't think it's bad enough to murder.

He would have realized that it would be better for Lex to rot in jail (if he had killed Lana) than to die and get out of it.

I think he would have beat the crap out of lex slowly so lex feals everything then when going in for the final blow he would have hear jonathon's voice saying something that would have caused him to stop.

I think he would've tried to kill him, knocked him unconscious, remembered his morals and what his parents have taught him, then stopped, realizing that no matter what Lex did he didn't have the right to take his life. Then he would've supersped unconscious Lex right into the Smallville jail.

I certainly hope not. They tarnished Clark's character enough last season when he went off, ill-informed, and was about to bash Lionel's skull in. If the Martian Manhunter hadn't intervened, who knows what would have happened.

No way. I honestly don't think Clark would kill Lex out of pure hate. I liked though, that he admitted feeling hate and how he reflected upon that.

I don't think Clark would have gone that far. If he wanted Lex dead he would've let the phantom finish him.

IMO, Clark should never kill. Besides that one time, Superman has never killed. And he exiled himself for a year after that one. It's a mistake for this show to have him killing so much, imo (titan, etc).
