i have seen that justic league walking away from the explosion shot so many times omg!! i was so shocked when it didn't appear on the cover of the season six dvd but then i opened it and what do you know there it was lol. i'm sure it will be in the opening credits. i'm sure jimmy will be there now but not sure about laura vanderhoot (that's what i call her) just yet. yeah martha will be gone sigh. how about adding shelby the dog (can't remember the dogs real name wasn't it bud or somehing lol)

The new credits are okay...but it's not really much of a jump from last year. I find it funny that a season that's supposed to be pro-Clana has practically no Clana scenes, but last season had 2. :rolleyes: And what's with them moving the actors all around, Allison has always been 5th since Lois came on the credits, and Kristin has always been 2nd. :confused:

Honestly, I don't rabidly hate Lana like the more annoying of this boards' population, but I'm glad to see MR get second billing. With Lana in China he is more important to this season, or at least the start of this season, then Lana currently is. Plus, it may all come down to contract. KK may have been okay with getting third billing since she's in it less, and MR might've wanted second billing because he's still a major player, moreso than Lana.

I don't either, but as far as contract negotiations go, in the world of TV these things are important. Lots of actors have stipulations about where they want to appear in the credits, if they want "with" or "and" or "starring" before their name, etc. etc.

SER: Allison usually appears in every episode of the season (a notable exception being when she was "dead" in the 4th season). Erica appears in only 13 out of 22. Although, I'm not sure if that factored into it.

First season, it was the male and female lead first (Tom and Kristin), then the second male lead (Michael), then the supporting players (Eric Johnson, Sam Jones, and Allison), followed by the "parents" (with... Annette O'Toole and Jon Schneider). I think the supporting characters were listed alphabetically (it worked out that way at least).

Second season, Eric is gone. John Glover replaces him but not in the credits order. He's put toward the end with the "parents" (appearing before Annette and Jonathan but that could also be for alphabetical reasons).

The next major cast change was in the 4th season, when Sam Jones left -- Jensen Ackles replaced him. When Jensen left at the end of the season, Eric replaced him in the credits order. However, this adhered to the standard alphabetical listing.

This season, there really is no alphabetical listing: It's the male leads, then the female leads (with Allison getting preference over Erica), then the supporting players (Aaraon Ashmore and Laura Vandervoort). John Glover gets the "and" listing (no Martha or Jonathan Kent)

I completely agree. I hope that the rearrangement in the credits means that TPTB will be emphasizing the Clark/Lex storyline rather than clexana.

And AM finally gets her deserved higher spot in the credits. :) I love ED, but AM's been on the show longer.

I also thought they did a good job picking pictures to show. For TW, the background shot of Clark revealing the House of El symbol (aka proto-"S" shield) from "Exile." Im glad that for MR they kept the scene from "Zod" where Zod/Lex and Clark are fighting in the sky, I always thought that was a cool scene and Im glad its been in the credits for hte past two seasons. Also, the zoom in on Lex from last seasons finale was a cool add. I also liked that they added for ED the scene from "Combat" where she's fighting.

Finally, I think they did a good job with the shots of AA and LaVa.

I don't like that Lana was moved third grrr. Probably because its Michaels last year. But i think the credits have been tacky from season 6 onwards, because they keep using the same clips that were used in season 5 credits. The bit where clark jumps onto the lorry and the producers names pop up, they keep that. And where a clip only lasts half a second long, it just looks tacky.

I love the new credits. Just love them. MR is second billing and about time I say. We are watching the journey of Clark Kent and Lex Luthor after all. Maybe this season will be more focused on them then stupid triangles.

And AM is fourth. Yay! She's been there from the start. She's been in every single episode for the past two seasons. She's deserved this spot for a long long time.

It was weird not to have AoT in the credits :( But I think they did a good job with AA and LV. Overall I'm a happy bunny :)

I LOVED the new credits. But I don't actually get the order, though... AM was upped to second leading lady? I don't really get it, because last year, it was by last name's order:

The big three: TW, KK, MR
"Supporting cast": ED, AM
"The adult cast": AoT, JG

And the reason to put ED before Chloe was the last name order, even though AM was in every episode for the past two seasons and has seniority over ED. I was cool with that, didn't mind one bit.

Now, these credits, I'm a bit lost, love them, but I'm lost as for their logic. Seniority, maybe?

Two leads: TW, MR
"Leading ladies": KK, AM
Supporting cast in only 13 epis, by seniority: ED, AA, LV
The only adult remaining: JG

That's the only sense I can make out of this...

You know, and I'm not favoring Chloe over Lois because I love them both, Chloe deserves 4th, I think. She's been there from the start, and she's only missed 2 episodes, I think. Crusade and Memoria. Lois popped in Season 4 and since then appeared in 13 episodes. Chloe is more important, whether she's cannon, original, or not. Chloe is important to the show, Lois isn't as important yet - at least I think so.

As much as I love Erica/Lois, I think Allison deserves to be billed above her. And I was glad to see Michael get second billing, but I think that isn't really a big deal since he and Kristin have both been around and major players since day one. LOVED seeing Aaron in there, but I was kind of irritated that Laura was there. I feel like Supergirl is being shoved on us. Lionel, Lois, and Jimmy were all eased in as guest stars at first and then moved up to regulars. They shoved Jason Teague on us and look how that turned out. But I'm trying to keep an open mind about Kara until we actually see her. :p /rant

I always wondered why Lois was billed first for the last 2 years. I like her a lot better now, but Chloe was there since the beginning and she deserved to be billed earlier. Allison also missed Legacy (maybe a few more episodes in season 2--Skinwalker?). I can't remember if she was in Hereafter.

I don't think it matters who has been around for the longest. Johnathan, Lionel and Martha had been there from the start, but they've always been behind Erica, and now Jimmy and Kara.

I'm pretty sure they base the credit order on who will be in the show most during that season.

As we can see, this season will be based around Clark and Lex more than Clark and Lana.
But Lana will still be in it more than Lois and Chloe.
And Lois and Chloe will be in it more than Kara and Jimmy.
etc etc..


On a side note, no matter how much Erica is in the show (even if it's more than Kristin), I don't think they will ever make the credit order "Clark, Lex, Lois" (or Clark, Lois, Lex). It'll be too Lois and Clark-y.

Acording to Tabby Marie, the girl that runs Allison Mack site, the only ones that signed for an 8th season are TW, ED and JG. She said that Allison told her that she is not coming back for an 8th season, neither is Kristin.

I noticed a blooper when rewatching the new credits - don't know if anyone else has noticed it yet. Before Laura Vandervoort's name comes up, when the letters are smooshing together, it still says "Aaron Ashmore." Watch and you'll see.

As for the order of the credits, I'm sure contract stuff is what rearranged it, but also, Smallville always was the story of Clark vs. Lex so that just highlights that. As for the first four in the credits, Tom, Kristin, Michael, and Allison are the only actors to be in all 22 episodes (as far as I know) - all of the others are 13 or less. With those people, they're on in order of when they were introduced, with the exception of John Glover, who now is the only older person of the cast.

Hey Craig!!! You know what that means, hehe..... In the Cast & crew section, you're gonna have to move AM from 'supporting cast' into the Tom, Michael & Kristin + Allison category.

I miss AOT and JS. Having them there gave the show more depth. Now it feels too much like a teenybopper show. Nothing against teenyboppers, but I liked the show with some adult perspectives. Heavy sigh.

Not really. I still consider Chloe to be a supporting character, even if she does often have better material than some of the "Big Three." It's no offense to Allison or the work shes done; I just have always disliked the insistence of a "Big Four" when eeally there's not.

Case in point, Family Ties. When it first started, Michael J Fox's character was only a supporting character, it was only thru his popularity that he was made one of the central characters
Clark is the central character in Smallville, every one else is orbiting his universe on his transition to Smallville
