ooooh but it has lenticular goodness....LENTICULAR!!! Although I do admit that the BBC could stand to make a bit more effort with their boxed set deals.
Have to admit, love the lenticular innard on my Ultmate Superman boxset. Though the tin's even better :P

Nope I am not, American
I thought they had Virgins in America? Certainly read in the gaffer's book about him having one, I'm sure?

I'd love to order the box sets, but I don't need to add another DVD TV set collection to my growing list. I already have every season of Lois and Clark, and am collecting every season of Smallville, Kyle XY, and Heroes as they come out.
I'd also love to have Futurama, Scrubs, Jekyll, Freaks and Geeks, and oh so many more. But if I stick to the series I'm collecting now I won't go too broke.

I gave up a few years back. I can't keep up with all of the cool box sets coming out, and afford to eat too. :\
I do have this recurring dream that I win some big shopping spree, & load up several carts full of nothing but box sets.

I've had that dream, only it was games, box sets, movies, and every other kind of electronic media I could get my hands on. :P

My system is usually that nI buy two boxed sets a month, and a collecoion of ordinary DVDs. I've got a complete collection of stargate that way, because Sci Fi refuse to package BSG individually.

I see the BBC is advertising the American release of Series Three on DVD pretty heavily, though the ad itself is pretty ugly, especially compared to what they had up last season.
Also the Torchwood box set looks really sweet... too bad I already got my Torchwood DVD's from a UK Region, and I can't justify buying it a second time.
Forget Nu Who, I ordered the Davros box set on Monday:

I love to collect the box sets. I already had Lois & Clark S1 - S2 - S3, Smallville S2 - S6 and Doctor Who S1 - S2.
I'm planning to get S1 of Smallville and Doctor Who Series 3. Awesome. Maybe Supernatural.

TBH, I think when it comes to boxed sets and BBC productions, us Brits get a better deal anyway

Does anyone know why the Doctor Who box sets are so expensive? Its something like 13 episodes for $70, compared to 23 episodes for $40 for Heroes Volume 1.
That's still cheaper than we get it over here...
Half price almost!
Another site I'm on is having the same discussion, but with Battlestar Galactica. I think it's the same thing though, really, so here's one of the replies:
While still expensive, the boxsets are much better value than those sort of figures suggest.
BSG episodes are shorter than DW ones so 13hrs 20mins of BSG (roughly) versus about 10 hrs 45mins of DW. So it's actually only about 3.5 more 'episodes' worth of show rather than 6.
Secondly, the DW sets have an unparalleled array of extras. In fact, including commentaries, there's somthing like 16hrs and 20mins of extras on the DW S2 set. BSG, meanwhile, is very skimpy on extras and commentaries with them only bringing the total running time up to around 17hrs 50mins.
Now, a lot of people don't care about extras, but some do and ultimately the BSG set doesn't have much more volume of content than the DW one.
