He couldv'e stopped or beat sylar if he had his head on straight. I guess, his lack of confidence/uncertainty with his abilities, keeps him from being the "superman" of the show.

he "fears" his powers right now he just needs to not be scared of how powerful he really is and hell be fine, just like the future, in the future he was confident in his powers so he was able to use them very good

 I understood that. sorry to make you guys feel old.

He said he thought you mean "to shrink" like to get smaller, not a shrink as in person you see when going wacko.
So he was Discouraged. +2 either means he was discouraged enough for two people or someone agrees with him.

He then said that Peter is level headed.

At which point I join you in going "What?!"

Ok - Sylar can one-up Peter because Sylar has what's-her-face-from-the-diner-that-Hiro-couldn't-save's power of being a quick learner. Sylar has almost mastered his abilities while Peter is still learning.

Maybe Peter could have beaten Sylar if he were left alone with him outside of the city but Sylar was holding all the cards at this point. Sure - Peter and Sylar do have some of the same powers - but Sylar knows how to use them so much more efficiently at this point in time.

I really do think that Sylar used his ability to 'mind control' to turn Peter's nuke power on and make it so Peter couldn't stop it. Peter was confident that he could contain it for only so long. He stepped up and accepted his fate - I think that says something good about Peter.

First read of this thread - I thought shrink was something else too - but I get that it's the doctor shrink lol.....[mind out of the gutter missy]

Peter did just fine. Only "bad" thing he did was not fly his own damn self into the sky.

Well - [hahhahahaha...ok...I'm fine now] I'd like to think that it took a considerable amount of control on Peter's part to not explode so I'd have to say that Ted's power was all-consuming after a certain stage and Peter simply could not turn it off and could not access any other abilities because the one power was taking all of his energy to control.

have we ever actually see peter use two powers at the same time?...maybe he can only perform one or the other...not multiple...
shouldn't peter have all of sylar's abilities?...regardless of if he knows how to use them....why are people saying that he has some or similar powers to sylar
we know he has used some of them...(such as his telekinetic power to throw sylar off of him in the ep that peter "died")

I still think everyone in the area need to check for radiation poisoning (not counting Claire).

Ted killed his wife due to exposure when the power first began developing and was at a low level at the time, but Peter got it full on.
