why doesnt peter has superhearing peter had a showdown wid Sylar in parasite......he should have hearing ability.....y was didnt peter hear sylar in ep landslide when he said "he will b there to also or something like dat????

There are a lot of threads about this kind of things, and it all comes down to one of two things-

1. Peter can only absorb abilities (from Sylar) when Sylar uses them, and cannot absorb those that Sylar does not use

OR

2. Peter simply can only use powers that he knows about, and he has no idea that Syalr has super hearing

I think that it's the first choice. He can probably just imitate those that beinng used in his vicinity. All past occurences of this back this up too.

I disagree.

He absorbed Claire's ability without her using it in his vicinity.

Peter does not necessarily have to see other people's powers in use to absorb them. In The Hard Part, Peter begins to absorb Ted Sprague's power even though Ted has not used it in his presence.

I agree with you. I also think its funny :lol: how we (myself included) are all experts on the rules of the powers, when its a tv show!

well sylar was tested by the company and the doc said the only power that tested positively for sylar was telekinesis. for some reason, since that was the first power sylar ever stole and added to his DNA, it must be different from the rest, which is y peter can only absorb telekinesis.

Peters power copies the DNA pattern of those around him, all of Sylars powers are DNA changes. So Peter has to absorn them as well. He has only used TK becuase it was kindve pushed out of hiom Cluade. He will be able to use them once he he gets back into a corner. I also think that will happen with Eden's powers.
