I think he was in shock at the time. He needs to focus to use his power. The whole van flipping must have thrown him off, giving Sylar the opportunity to go slicey-slicey on Ted.

I hated how they killed Ted now...it seemed killing him off was a convenient thing to do at this stage because he wasn't that much of a hero (in the good-guy sense), he couldn't live a happy life after he killed all those people including his wife, and he was a wanted man. Deaths aren't supposed to make the plot "easier" and less complicated.
...Watch for Ando to die next week.

Ugh. I say good riddance to Ted, he was so whiney... "uhhhh, i'm going to accidently kill someone...oh poor me i killed my wife...why me..." I'm glad sylar shut him up.

I dont mean like that, when he was shot him nukeing was involuntary, so he wouldn't of had to think about it

Ted's death was kind of sad. He was injured, and just hanging there chained up.
When the doors opened, he was begging for Sylar (or anyone for that matter) to help him.
He didn't use his powers, because he didn't feel threatened.
Definately not the "heroic" way to die, but I sort of knew it was going to happen like that when Sylar tipped off Hanson.
He used them like caterers. Lol!
It was very sneaky & cool on Sylars part. :)

I still say Ted could've done SOMETHING. There were so many stupid things that it seems could have been prevented. Peter could've saved Ted. It seemed so plot-convenient for the FBI to swoop in and get rid of Ted. But oh well...
And I'll be GLAD to see Matt bite it. DL's not dead, I think many saw that in the preview for next week. Folk need to put up, or shut up...there's no room for any whiney babies anymore...

Getting shot and being in pain and losing control of your power... and getting your head sliced open to get to your brain, y'know, the part that's probably controlling said power, I imagine are two very different experiences.
Besides, how was Ted to know that Sylar was even going to kill him? He didn't even know who he was or what he could do. As was said, he was totally caught off guard.
But the whole Sylar killings thing is getting kind of old...

It was too easy for Sylar, It should have taken Sylar by suprise. Like maybe he starts cutting Teds head open and he starts bursting things into flames letting of large amounts of radiation, but then Sylar cuts through and it stops. Rather than nothing happening, it was too anti-climactic. A death not fitting of such an immensely powerful character.

You mean like building a Super Prototype character and a chance meeting with Clark, that would end in 10 seconds by weak eye blast? I dont know what your talking about!

My favorite is still the massive fight that was suspose to happen in Arrival with Clark and Zod's disciples - NamEk and Ather (something like that) but all it was was Ather throws her Phantom Zone bracelt (why did even she have one of those?) and then they both turn their back on Clark (WTF?!) and Clark then hits them with his weak eye blast to shove them in the Phantom Zone instead.
