Lois has. Lana is still getting darker and darker for the couple episodes. Give it a 7

Indeed. An absolute 10!!! The person that played Wes was an excellent actor. Clark using his laser vision was really cool. Can't wait til next weeks season finale!

It was....okay. Not bad...but not amazing
The Good
~Lois- finally the writers get that the Inquisitor is not exactly actual reporting. Plus I thought her interactions with Wes were good.
~Ares- the whole secret project/33.1/Justice League stuff is coming together....dear god it's continuity!!
The Bad
~Martha Kent for US Senate...wait...what? Sure she's nice...sure she can make a difference, but honestly....no one would want a person who got an elected seat by chance in Washington....not to mention there's a crazy thing called mythos....and while I'm no comic pro...I'm pretty sure it didn't exactly happen
~Clana....please just let the dead horse lie...I'm over it
The Ugly
~Lex...."if you betrayed me...I don't know what I'd do" *vomits* I was never a fan of Lexana to begin with, but having one of the best villans there is so...whipped. It just drives me crazy.
Final Score 6/10.

i loved most of the dialouge like the clark and lionel scene at the begining, the clark and lana scene in the bedroom, the lana and lex scene forshadowing to the finale about women who have disappointed him. i was not crazy about the action scene the fire shooting was great but cmon i wanted more of a titan kinda fight some more punches and just a better fight than fire bam. it seemed from the way that they hyped it that this was a great fighting episode but apparently not that is in phantom hopefully.
if you want mythos pick up a comic if you want smallville watch the show.

I'm giving this episode a '7'. One thing I really liked were all of the continuity references - not just from this season, but from past seasons as well (such as the Alicia reference). Clark's Heat Vision in this episode definitely reminded me of X-Men's Cyclops, but I still thought it was a pretty neat effect.
Onto the actual story, I thought it was neat they tied it into "Nemesis". Lois knowing who Wes was seemed a little forced, but once I got past that it made it more interesting (save the uncharacteristic show of emotion Lois exhibited for someone she hasn't seen for seventeen or so years).
Overall, a pretty good episode but nothing spectacular. Hopefully a nice build-up to the finale.
omg lame/set up episode! boring and prredictable
scenes were so short...plain set up for the finale...

I knew it was going to be good when I saw Steven's name as the writer.
I liked this episode (gave it an 8) but I was expecting more - especially towards the end of the season. I would have liked to see less of Lois getting taken and more of Clark trying to find her. Different point of views - I know they had to give Lois some screen time to show she's tough but still.......(don't get me wrong - I love Lois)
And I would have liked to have Clark react with his skills (x-ray vision, super speed) anything to make it look like he was putting up a fight in the beginning. Granted Lois was there.....but super speed is fast and Clark could have gotten around the fact that Lois was there.
Overall though - decent build up to the season finale with some tie-in's from pervious episodes. Including Lionel reading Kryptonian and viewing the vids with the phantom.

THIS IS WHAT SMALLVILLE SHOULD BE!!!!!!
This episode is all that and more [dare I say this was better than "Justice"]. This episode gave me goosebumps and caused my heart to beat in my throat[a common feeling I usually experience watching "24", but NOT this season!]. The storyline and [WTF???] continuity was superb, and the forshadowing toward next week's season finale was outta this world [not to mention the referencing to the "Justice and Doom" mini-story. Nice writing Guys!] I can't wait for everything to come together next week.
Oh LEX, what the hell did you do to my HELO? [I will always remeber Tamoh Penikett as Helo from "Battlestar Galactica"],and boy did he kick Clarkie's @$$ across the room, then Clarkie listened to me and used his heat vision to slow TP down [the HV effect was quite kewl], the fight was brief and to the point, although a slobberknocker would have been nice to see.
I guess Annette O'Toole will be cutting back her role [and appearences on Smallville] as Martha becomes an U.S. Senator , I guess that is the rumored regular who is leaving the show [but will return in guest starring parts].
All in all this was a great set-up for the finale, and one of Smallville's greatest episodes ever.
The finale will be a FRAKIN AWESOME!

This episode started so sweet but the payoff was disappointing.
I wanted a more intense fight scene between Clark and Wes.
And I am seriously Clana deprived. This whole season has been wasted on Lexana! Clana has one scene and it's interrupted by Lex! WTF.
I like this new stronger Lana. I wanted more scenes with Kristin!
That said it was a nice setup for the season finale.
I gave it an 8.

I gave it a 7 for the super dark Lex.
It was edible, certainly better to swallow than last week’s episode.
I do wish Clark would use more of his super powers though; at times he goes around being such a plain Jane (no offence to any Jane(s) on the board :D )
I want to see him utilize all his powers as oppose to thinking what do I do next. You could almost see him going down a mental check list.
*Maybe I’ll super speed (no wait), x-ray(nah), super hearing(oh wait), heat vision(taada).*

yeah it was a smallfeld episode nothing really did happen just a bunch of warnings and foreshadowing. does anyone know how bizzaro will come into effect here? i mean all this build up around ares and granted the episodes name was prototype so some of the kinks will have to be worked out but is bizzaro the real specimen lex has been working on? one thing i have been thinking about lately is can there be any ties to clarks blood from seasons 2 and 3 could that be a source for ares like how titan was a source for him up until this point or did lex find a specimen in the water tunnels from clark getting stabbed during nemesis.

The best part of the episode for me is where Clark barged into Lionel's office and threatened him. Ohh yea, Clark's heat vision was off the wall too. But the rest of the episode I feel did not live up to expectations for a pre-emption of a finale.

Good episode tonight. I liked Lex's further descent into the dark side and it was very cool seeing Tahmoh Pinkett, the actor who plays Helo on Battlestar Galactica. Martha's rise to U.S. Senator is silly but I like the storyline. I thought it was funny that Chloe missed Jimmy...she hadn't missed him the last seven episodes when he didn't appear at all!

Meh.
Oh WOW!! What a coincidence that Lois actually knew Wes!!!
How surprising! Out of the thousands of soldiers under her father's command and many many more passing through military bases daily, Lois actually grew up with the one person that happened to become the "Prototype". All I can say is WOW!
<sigh>
On the other hand, it was an improvement over last week.

I didn't care much for this one. One episode away from the finale, and Clark still seems like a guest star on a show thats supposed to be about him. Not much worked for me at all, and I thought there should've been way more action. The Clark/Wes scene was lame.

To be brutally honest, if next week's finale doesn't knock my socks off, I may not follow Smallville as close as I have for the last six years.
Just think, it was October 16 2001 when we first got to see Smallville.
And one thing has been on my mind When Clark leaves for school at the beginning of the pilot episode, he has a skateboard attached to his backpack. Clark never rides it and the skateboard was never seen again .

the good - Lois
the bad - the nauseating neverending Clana
The episode seemed a bit anticlimactic.
I can't wait for Lex to go crazy on Lana's butt...but then I know Clark will be there saving her unfortunately.
That's ALL Clark seems to do, mope about Lana, whine about Lana, think about Lana, talk about Lana, whine about her some more. "oh why did she marry Lex? why did I let her go? but I let her go because I love her and it's for her own good, oh but it pains me, oh my angst, my pain, oh what is Lana doing now?"
Lionel had the line of the day "letting things go aren't exactly your strong suit" or something to that effect. Lionel would be my hero for keeping Clark and Lana apart except Clark's obsessing about her more than if he WAS with her. I don't like Lana but Clark obsessing over her is more annoying than Lana herself.

I liked the Clana...but I'm a major Clana fan. It was nice to see some interaction between them besides "please leave him, come with me"...okay, so there was some of that...but not all of it was.
Martha Kent, a state senator, having access to such records seemed forced.
The fight scene should have been longer.
I liked the Lana/Lex scene at the end.
Overall, an 8.

I liked it. There was a good amount of action and I loved the part where Clark threatened Lionel about gloves coming off. Although he seemed very passive when Lionel visted the farm.
Erica did an awesome job and looks very... hot lol. Kristin also did and Chloe showed off some good cleavage at the talon.
It did however feel rushed and a lot of episodes had built up onto the prototype with Clark killing him in several minutes. I thought he would have been a bigger threat.
The Clana was great too (I'm a fan) and I'm very happy that he didnt cry or kiss Lana who is a married woman.
Overall 7/10

Just finished up on the west coast.
I gave it an 8/10.
The episode was very good but was obviously a buildup to the season finale.
I don't think Lex has ever been more evil in Smallville than in this episode...cold and calculated. Tahmoh as Wes was good, as always(Smallville or BSG). I thought EDLois was about as good as I've seen her. She definitely realizes that The Inquisitor is a major limitation to her career. I also think it was logical that if anyone knew Wes it was going to be the daughter of an Army general. I thought Erica was reasonably effective in the more dramatic moments.
The new heat vision effect was very nicely done. I think Clark really focused his ability and he was very surprised how powerful it was. I don't think he had any intention of killing Wes. I liked his scenes with both Lionel and Lana. I think Lionel took his threat seriously. I think the kiss with Lana was on the way but with the usual lousy timing.
I like the references to previous Smallville episodes (Alicia and the guy from Fade). I especially liked the Ben Hubbard reference from the Superman movies when Clark talked about leasing the back 40 to him.
I like the Chloe/Martha scene when Chloe asks "Do you ever get used to that" when Clark superspeeds away.
On the negative, the fight scenes were way too short and it was predictable. Last week I posted the following on the Spoiler forum (no longer a spoiler after the episode has been shown):
:)I think we all know the formula at this point (based on previous Smallville episodes and other superhero shows):
In the first 15-20 minutes (this includes commercial breaks), we will be introduced to the prototype (probably the scene in the DC)
In the second 10-15 minutes, Clark will get his A$$ kicked by the prototype.
In the next 15 minutes, Clark will try to figure out how to defeat the prototype.
In the next 10 minutes, Clark will miraculously defeat the prototype with some extra effort/use of powers he forgot he had in the first battle.
In the last 5 minutes, Lex will flip the light switch revealing the hundreds of super soldiers (as seen in the trailer).:)
I watched the time on my recording and nailed it to the minute.

definitely a 10 Lex and Lois growing into their iconic selves and Clark shows alittle emotion towards Lois.

It was nice to see Lois back in action and with a real purpose. I liked how Clark lingered while Lois cried over Wes. It was a really complex moment, knowing he had killed the guy and subsequently saved and hurt Lois, and knowing she'll never know. Very character-driven, silent moment, yet somehow I felt it wasn't as fleshed out as it could have been.
The Clana crap was bearable, I just wish they'd get on with something or get over it.
Lex was sexy bad. Chloe, Martha and Lionel were all well showcased in this epi. Overall it was decent, and I especially liked the moment when Lionel was writing in Kryptonian. Mysterious--ooooo. Can't wait for next week, but I can't believe it's the end of the season already. I feel sad wonding of next season might be the end.
Very Poor wasn't worth the wait. I rate it a 2. The last one better be good. :(
You could tell Tom Welling thought the lines were stupid he wasn't even acting most of the episode just reading lines. I think I liked the episode with Lana being a Vampire better.

Gave it a 3 because I felt like being generous.
How is Lois investigating the Senator? Why? Where did she get her info? In Offscreensville? Figures. She knows Wes because she was a army brat? What a small world. Her dad is a General? Gee, I never would have guessed. She's going to go after Lex because now it's personal? Huh, wow it's personal because of your "first kiss", but not because he kidnapped your own cousin and threatened her life? Gee, i'm glad she's not my cousin.
Shoot, why don't they just hand Chloe's story that she has been working on to Lois and get it over with?
The Clana was nauseating. A person may be question Lana's morals (is she good, is she bad, etc) but we should not be questioning Clark's AT ALL. He's what 21 now? He should know that no matter why she married Lex, he shouldn't be trying to mack on a married woman. Period. The fight scene was rather anti climatic, but the special effects with Clark's heat vision was cool.
The Martha and Chloe scene was cute. I sure have missed AoT this season. Chloe's power suits and better (not to mention darker) hair are back. Thank goodness.
I love Lex and seeing his descent into the dark. And he caught Lana snooping which I thought was great.
Lana gathering intell on Lex huh? Not bad. I like those scenes and storylines with her. Now if they would just end the damn Clana I would be happy.
I just miss that the show is supposed to be about Clark's journey becoming Superman. When is he going to get into journalism? He obviously hasn't developed the morals to become Superman yet, nor has he grown up much and no training in sight. I understand that plots involving the supporting characters are required, but this is just getting ridiculous.
Overall a very disappointing episode and I am very unenthused about the season finale.

If they were not to stick to some semblance to Superman mythos, then they should have changed even more, change Clark's name to 'Chuck Bent' and totally revamp everything.
There are some rules they MUST adhere to:
Clark will eventually become Superman,
Become a reporter for the Daily Planet.
Hook up with a women named Lois Lane.
Have an arch enemy named Lex Luthor.
Other than possibly the Shuster family, no one on the planet was more excited when I saw this back in December 2000:
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k292/Startrekfanatic/SV1.gif
I was skipping around all day, and I have missed but one original airing of Smallville since the pilot which was due to a silly hurricane that wiped out the cable system.
It may be wrong of me to expect a quaility production on a cumulation of a childhood dream, a fantasy series about a superhero.
They again put Clark in a situation where he kills someone? F*** you, SDK.
I am so sick of the Clark Kent character being prostituted to serve every other character and everyone else's plotline. None of the decisions on this show are about advancing him towards where he needs to go. In the first part of the season, they shoved him into the background, then SDK put him way behind the superhero curve in "Justice", and ever since, they have had him repeating the Lana obsession over and over and over again. It's absolutely deadening. This was at least the third time this season that Clark has had responsibility for someone's death, and this time it was even an innocent who couldn't help what he did. As a sordid bonus, they threw in an adulterous near kiss with Lana.
It's a real shame, too, because there was some cool megalomanical Lex material. Even this was compromised by silly lines such as, "Independent and not afraid to get her hands dirty. Just one of a billion reasons I fell in love with you." Lana was arranging flowers, for heaven's sake.
Speaking of Lana, we get that contrived nonsense again about Lana and Chloe keeping secret from Clark that there is a threat against his life. The writers want so badly to turn the tables on Clark about keeping secrets from Lana that they forgot to make it make any sense. Clark kept secrets from Lana to keep her out of danger, but according to what Lana and Chloe believe, Clark is already in danger, from someone who enters the Kent household all the time. Lana and Chloe are criminally stupid for keeping the information from him.
And much as they tried, Lois still gets lightswitches and handouts. A couple of episodes ago, she couldn't even find a story in all of Metropolis. This week, she magically knows that Senator Burke has $5 million in his Cayman account. How did that happen? And despite the thousands of people in the armed forces, Wes Keenan turns out to be not only someone she knows, but the first boy she kissed. How's that for both improbable and banal?

I gave it a 10 like how they had the continuity references its about time that they did. Martha being pick to become the next senator from Kansas could happen I have seem something like it before in real life.
I though that all of the actors did another outstanding job. Tom still had the short hair cut from last week and Lionel's beard has come back, maybe they shot this weeks show before last weeks that would count for him having a beard this week and not last week.
I feel that they are trieding to make next weeks show a true cliff hanger. Any how my 2cents worth.
Have a good day,

I'm giving it a 9. I liked the interaction between the characters.
I liked Clark hearing the same stuff he dishes out to Lana back to him. Even though I'm past Clana, I found the Clana to be very palitable this ep.
Great having Martha in it, and scarily Lionel pushing her away from Clark, hum, what does Lionel have in mind?
Lois knowing Wes was a nice surprise and very understandable due to her being forced to living on the move with daddy.
And especially liked Clark feeling sympathic to Lois because she lost Wes. He's seeing she's more than just brash (sp?).

I was expecting more answers and a strong build-up to the finale. Overall I find the entire Season 6 writing to be choppy and an amalgamation of incidents with no strong dramatic narrative. In Season 6, everyone gets to be the hero but Clark. Tom Welling's acting is the most natural with Kristin Kreuk. This episode reflects how wrong this entire season has been for the regular fans: There is an emphasis on showcasing Lois, Green Arrow, and the central characters -Clark-Lex-Lana-Chloe play supportive roles. Bring the story back to the main characters like Seasons 1 to 3 and bring back the great writing. I have not seen one good episode this season.

I watched Smallville on ABC Family and they showed Shattered and later tonight, I saw Prototype. The producers have been trying to keep Clark and Lana apart since the Pilot. It is really time for them to be together for one season and then Clark should leave for his training. I don't think the writers can come up with anymore forced obstacles to keep them apart. Let them be for one season and all the regulars will be gone by the end of Season 7. In Season 8, Clark can fly around the world and battle everyone and his brother and they can bring in Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batman, Green Arrow etc. etc. No more angst in Season 7.

loved Lex, Wes, army of freaks storyline etc...didnt care for Lang. Lana Lang, 007 extraordinarie...it was ok i guess...but she got caught....
Lex looked like an a$$ when he didnt realise that the man that Lana loved that she would never hurt wasnt him. such a fool. Except Lana, you did hurt him...when you said that you didnt know how you could ever love him back in Vessel...but alas....one day she loved both men, one day only one...whatever....
but the big, big doozie for me: so has Chloe suddenly lost her spark to go after the Luthors? wonderful....ohhh, i forgot...she's just a meteor freak and a researcher for everyone else now. right. ....i think i know where this is going...but how about i wait till season 7 and then get it confirmed.

I gave it a 4/10.
I found this episode to be mainly bland and uninteresting.
Pros:
-Some of the storyline advancement. We got confirmation that Titan's DNA was used for Project Ares. Plus, Lex continues to get more evil.
-Lois' shower reference and Martha's reaction. It felt like we were in Season 4 again.
-Reference to Martha's political career
Cons:
-The Clark/Wes "fight scene" sucked! Wes shows himself like a moron, then one heat vision blast later and it's over.
-Lana STILL pretends to be in love with Lex.
-Clark STILL is in love with Lana.
-Clark STILL mad at Chloe for keeping secrets, which is what he's done his whole life.

:) A 10 for me:D specially because of Lois; she rocked!: smart, strong and brave as she always is.:) Clark well...I always like him, he was great too exept for one or two scenes, Martha was really well too, and so Lionel, Lex in the villian role too, and Chloe surprised me with the Luthors. all that things were the best!
And sorry..Lana who? well she was not necessary in the episode, I don´t care a thing about her anymore, it would be good she starts to say goodbye forever, but well it doesn´t worth to talk about her, and getting back to the stars of the episode: Clark 9 and a half for me:) , Lois has a 10; she was great!:D , Lionel and Martha a 10 too, Chloe and Lex 9 and a half :)

It's weird. I loved it, but I'm not enthused about it. The storyline movement was great, but the action was, well, MIA.
The heat vision made me say wow,
the little Martha/Chloe scene made me smile,
Clana made me barf,
the Lexana spat (skulking like a cat lol) made me giggle then question why/how they are still together,
the Clark/Lionel made me wonder if the ep would be good (I thought we liked/trusted Lionel a bit more than that),
the Clark/Wes was made think that no fight doubles we available in all of Canada,
and Justice of Doom made my tivo tired (that thing goes SO FAST)

I gave it a 9. I would give it a 10 but the clana just ruins it. It’s not Lana I’m tired of but Clark who just can’t move on. I’m not saying he is not going to always care for her just like Lois still had feelings for Wes which is motivating her to continue her quest.
Martha becoming state senator makes me think we won’t be seeing much of her next season.
I just couldn’t figure out where I had seen the actor who played Wes till I read it this morning. Duh.

I gave it a 10, very enjoyable. I especially liked how the Justice and Doom comic was like a part of the episode, nicely done.

I still want SV be more about Clark! This season 6 have failed to accomplish that (sometimes it feels like he's a supporting character).
I wish for the character to be more inquisitive, and intelligent. Nowadays he's being portrayed more like a puppet; as someone that only reacts rather than anticipate or find solutions to situations (remember Rogue, Transference, Stray, and so many others?). Maybe I wrong, but I think that clark/Superman prefer to solve problems, help people; rather than kill them (even if they are a problem).
... want to see Clark's development. To see him taking risks, sometime failing and sometimes getting it right. To live and grow, opposed to dawdle. To study his relationships with others, not the other way around.
 EPI CONs: All the easy ways out :o
- Lois 1st kiss... the prototype, WOW!
- Lionel - I think that hey really don't know what to do with the character, use him as they need and pass it as being mysterious and dangerous.
- Clark killing the prototype
- Lex's Freak Fabulous Army... come on!
:) EPI PRO:
- Chloe's and Martha's moment:)

My - my - my. Seems the "I hates it" are carrying the day. I figured there would be gushing (with the exception of the angstville) since we had super powers and etc.
Oh and the mythos/comic/tv separation. Use to you could get away with it. But not anymore. They have effectively castrated this Superman. A victim of his superpowers. This is why TW was NOT selected for the Superman Returns. The real PTB did not want the hero from angstville showing up on the big screen. They have separated themselves from the TV show.
The Senator thing - see the Mrs. Mel Carnahan takes her husbands place in the Senate after his death prior to an election. She was a shill for the party. It moves Martha to the East Coast - apparently Clark won't need to send half his paycheck to support his mother. (See Movie I)
They now have so many loose ends with the character/personality of Clark they are going to have to make quantum leaps if they intend to flesh him out by the end of next season.
Next week - Lana gets in the vehicle - ooops sorry wrong forum for that. Bye Bye!
And to all the actors of this show - if you read this - some of the best young talent on the screen. Having been given what you have to work with I think you do a wonderful job.

im starting to agree about clark killing people it was slightly nonintention i think he was only trying to penetrate the shield plus it wasnt an attack out of rage like combat. i still think lately that he has been flirting with the whole entire killing people thing too much for a man whos main platform pretty much is not to kill people maybe we are watching the wrong show maybe this is how the punisher comes about.

What I like:
The Clana moment
Clark using his powers(beams looking stronger)
Clark talking like Superman to his mom and her postion change
Clark doing things on his own
Lex becoming evil Lex
the mysterious Lionel
And actually, I enjoyed Lois's emotions with a past guy. Nice to see her sentiment
Oh yeah, Lois "kiss then throw comment" to Wess, and some other things she said were funny
Lionel looking at the Phantom video aka the Bizzaro hint "Mirror", I saw the word Power as well.
What I didn't like:
Too much Lois Lane references
Chloe being hushed towards Clark
Not enough Clark, wanted a good fight scene with Prototype
That's about it.
I don't feel the intensity for anytype of Finale builid up like I did the other Seasons, I don't know, we need better writing next year or something. Prototype was ok, but it wasn't the best.

I thought The Episode was Awesome, I really did enjoy it, I really did like The Scene where Lana tells Clark, what Lex is doing, and My Favorite Scene in The Episode is where Clark is Fighting The Prototype, and he uses his Heat Vison, to stop him, I can't wait to see The Season Finale, Next Week, it is going to be great.

Funny. Real Life is never like that.
Someone who is forced into a marriage isn't going to stay married. A divorced person is free to be with whoever. It's not like he's having s_x with her. Two people who love each other will get together, believe me.
The moral line is not always so clear. What's better staying with someone because "you're married" even if you are unhappy and miserable? Or leaving them and being with someone you are happy with? Clearly the latter.

Amazing! This episode was superb! I definitly give it a 10!The action was awesome the dialogue was sweet the way Clark supersped in front of Lana was crazy. The entire thing had me standing and jumping.everytime I would sit down I would keep moving closer to the edge of my seat and eventually I would be up jumping again. I absolutely loved this ep. It may have been better then Nemesis or Combat. I loved it!!

That sums up my reasons for giving it a 9 too. :) I am no Clana hater but it's really late in the story for them to be so passionately lovey-dovey instead of the awesome balanced closeness in "Freak" (or did I just imagine how cool that last scene with them then was?). Also, I give SV!Clark aloooooooooot of leeway in morality etc BUT I will seriously scream if this clandestine extramarital love affair continues. Please, get some class!
I liked Chloe in the ep and thought her Jimmy blues was cute. Lois was driven and this is the first time since "Lucy" that we have seen someone appear from her past. :) Martha I'll miss when she leaves but I think it is time.

Good ep and I give it an 8, but I have to agree with many other comments: how about a little more of Clark and a little less of everyone else. Tom Welling often seems a guest on his own show.
This ep advanced the plot, showed Lana with a little more strength, and once again showed why John Glover is so great for the show. Just his little part and all the ambiguous menace of the Luthors comes rushing back. Everyone seems to be talking mythos vs. soap opera. I think mythos ought to have the upper hand but the relationship scenes are fine, as long as they advance the characters. Not sure if that is happening fast enough.
Hard to see how the finale will rise above last year's. I'm not sure this episode adequately raised the tension level enough.

I absolutely loved this episode everything is coming to an incredible season finale climax and the Justice unlimited tie ins commercials also help to fill in the blanks inj the story. It is obvious that by next season Clark will have to officially assume his role as Superman and officially form the Justice league with the rest of his superfriends...
I love how everything in the show is begining to resemble more and more the comic books!:D

The comics must have changed a lot since I stopped buying them in the late '90s.
Are they all filled with unrequited love stories and one page of action now?
And from what I have seen, the price has almost doubled since then

They're recycling actors now on Smallville! Anybody noticed? Wes is played by the same actor who played the brother of Garrett (James Kirk) in Resurrection (season 3)! No wonder he looked familiar... Thought this epi was solid. Love how Lex is turning pitch black! The last shot gave me chills. I wasn't a Lana fan before, but now she rocks! Calculating and manipulative, she's finally come into her own and become really interesting. When she said:"I'll never hurt the man I love" you just know she meant Clark.
Didn't care too much for Lois (she looked weird in her first scenes with Chloe at the Talon). It's getting to the point where I'm less and less inclined to root for Clois. No chemistry.
Can't wait to see the season finale!! Looks like Lana's getting blown up in her car!

haha I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that.
I thought this episode was awesome. Lex has completley gone over to the dark side. There's no ifs ands or buts about it anymore. Absolutley nothing is sacred to him. He even threatened Lana when he caught her spying on his conversation with the Senator. That sent chills right down my spine. I always thought, at least he wouldn't hurt Lana. But now I'm not so sure.
When she said:"I'll never hurt the man I love" you just know she meant Clark.
And I think Lex knew it too. He's not stupid. I think he's been on to Lana from the beginning. He probably knows that she knows about the baby... or lack there of and has been protecting his ass since then just encase she trys to get him back.
Is it wrong that I still like Lex?
Seeing as I didn't read any spoilers and I only saw the trailer once really quickly, I give it a 9! I didn't go into it with any expectations, so compared to those episodes I really despise, this one was definitely top-notch!
They had a lot of continuity, I found the "do you ever get used to it?" scene really funny, I'm glad they're finally giving Lois more of a 'reporter' feel rather than a 'I'm a sexy woman' feel, I liked that even though they had Clana in it, Clark made up for it by trying to get a move on with having Chloe call up the Justice League (not to mention the whole confrontation with Lionel opener), Lex has gone all evil and I love it, and although the battle scene was weak, I'm hoping it'll lead up to something biiig in the season finale!
So yes, that's why I like it in one really long run-on sentence, hehe.

I used to be one of the show's biggest fans out there. But now I am just getting sick of this show. The more I watch it, the more I wish it was like it used to be. The writers have completely gotten off the beat and track in my opinion. The episodes have become so formulaic it is ridiculous. Each episode consists of Clark whining or sulking and Lexana drama. We are in S6. Shouldn't we be focusing on Clark and Lex and their respective paths considering there is pretty much only one season left? The Clana was fine for the early seasons. But man, it is time to move on already. Instead of them ending things after high school and becoming friends like they are supposed to, they invent the Lexana relationship specifically just to keep it going.
Now to top it off, Martha is going to the US Senate? Just one more excuse to keep Clark sulking around the barn for another season preventing him from developing. I guess the writers forgot about the deal with Clark going to the FOS after he captured all of the Zoners. It will be kind of hard now that he has to run the farm.
The best part of the episode for me was the effect they used on Clark's heat vision. They made it have the red laser vision look to it, which I have always been a fan of. It is so frustrating to me when they throw in one forshadowing or Superman esque moment, and then have the rest of the episode be romance angst. How about reversing the formula, by having one romantic/angst moment every so often, and have most of the episodes focus around the mythos and character development?
Here we are in the second to the last episode of the season with Lex telling Lana not to betray him, etc..
I could personally care less about the season finale. The only part of the preview that sparked my interest was Martian Manhunter's eyes glowing red like it was time for heat vision or something. The rest of the trailer was all Clexana.
I want to know how they are possibly going to be able to make up all of the development they have missed over the course of one season next year? They would have to have every episode be a mythos episode, which we know won't happen. Even if the series finale manages to forshadow Supes, we will not have had the development needed to make us believe this Clark is going to become Superman one day.
I do like the direction they are taking Lex. I only wish that they would take Lana out of the equation and replace her with Clark so that the show can get back to where it used to be.

Wow I have to say I really didn't care for Prototype at all.
I kept sitting there waiting for the story to kick in and the action to start. until the end of the episode, frankly.
What we did see was predictable, boring or just plain nonesense (ok, except for Chloe's stuff. At this point Allison is pretty much the best reason to watch this show!).
As has been noted, Clark is a guest star in his own show, the Clana needs to die, die, die (SO sick of the Clana!), and we need to resolve this whole Lionel thing once and for all cause it's just tiresome now.
A filler episode that was only notable because of it's (for once) good continuity with previous episodes. And, as noted above, Allison Mack as Chloe.

I think Lionel should die at the hands of Lex (just as Lionel killed his parents or had them killed).

Yes or the SFX budget. But you can easily portray those abilities without showing the fancy graphics.
The episode did not keep in trend with the previous episodes which i have enjoyed.....the actual events the episode was based on i liked the idea of...its just the story and acting let it down.
It seemed to be routine in a way....nothing really stood out for me in this episode. It was all decent viewing i guess but nothing special, and for one of the last episodes of the season i think it could have been much better.
The satelite looked alarmingly fake also......still i give it a 6, cos i can't give a 5.5 :D
