She was injected with something and the ultra-sound image was faked with a probably recording of another womans scan. Whose doing was the pregnancy fake? Lex who really wants Lana or Lionel who is trying to force Lana to marry Lex?

Lex, it's obvious. He gave us a lot of proves that he stick his dirty hands in her pregnancy.
Absolutely not Lana.

Everyone (myself included) assumed it had to be Lex. But he really doesn't have a motive that we know of yet. Lana was his girlfriend and I think already moved into his mansion before she found out she was "pregnant". He didn't need to trap her in a relationship she was already in.
If there was no baby, why was Lex obsesseed with the ultrasound pictures? Why sit and stare at some kid that you KNOW isn't yours?
And when Lana wanted to get herself checked out as to why she miscarried, why didn't Lex make sure that he had a doctor tell her a lie. Instead, Lex was not in control of the situation and Lana just went to any old doctor who of course told her there was no baby.
How did she get hormones into her system? Pills or injections. She was taking prenatal vitamins. Anyone could have tampered with them.
Lex and the doctor he killed on his wedding day did have something secret between them in regards to this baby. But what? Maybe the doctor knew there was no baby. Then why would Lex be desperate to keep that a secret?
Darn, maybe it was Lex.

...how could anyone sit there and look at the ultrasound of their baby ...knowing that it is not a baby and watch their wife suffer like that after letting her think she had a miscarriage....that is EVIL!!!......but this is Lex Luthor!

Personally, I believe that as long as Lana was still unmarried to Lex, living in the mansion or not, she could still easily walk out. Lex doesn't strike me as one who takes any chances and does anything he can to secure what is "his." If he wasn't holding such a dark secret, why would he have killed Lana's doctor? My guess is that since Lex was not present when Lana got hurt, that secret finally managed to slip through his fingers.

Lex acidently killed the Doctor when he threatened to expose that he had faked the pregnancy for Lex. So has to be Lex all the way.

I should have known better than to get attached to Lex. Heck, I've been reading Superman comics since I was a little kid. Darn that Michael charm. That being said, what he did was just.... evil.
Sniff.

Hey, I understand. I myself seem to like bad boys when they're still good (or at least look like they're good. Hence Professor Fine...
And "accidentally" killed... who "threatened to expose..."? Even if it's true (and I'm not cracking on someone refering to an incident that took place), it's like saying "Fred 'accidentally' killed Bob for murdering his brother" or something like that.

Lex was obsessed from the baby from day 1. I think Red Chlark hit the 'why' of it in 'Crimson'.

Have to go with Lex, in order to convince her to marry him.. however, if it was Lionel that would certainly put an interesting spin on things..

That never occured to me... maybe it was Lionel. I wouldn't be surprised (although I had hoped that after Transference and all that with Jor-El Lionel would have stayed good).

:rotfl: Tell me how you really feel. I'm not arguing that it's one or the other; it probably was Lex. Just if we all found out it was Lionel, I wouldn't be surprised. Like father, like son. But then, why would Lex beat the crap out of that doctor on his wedding day if he wasn't the one who'd faked it. I always thought that Lana was Lex's only weakness, that he truly was captivated by her, but especially after Clark had said "Lex might hurt Lana just to spite me," I'm wondering if Lana was just an object to him the whole doggone time.

it's definitely Lex, who else would care enough 2 fake Lana's pregnacy.

another reason lending further support to it being Lex's doing and not Lionel's... if it wasn't Lex doing the faking treachery, and he truly thought his girlfriend/wife was really pregnant, why is he seen awakened by a (albeit vague in terms of intent) nightmare of his "child's" ultrasound? If you're having ominous nightmares about the pregnancy, chances are, you've got something troublesome weighing upon your mind.

Lex.
It seems Lionel only cared enough to manipulate Lana after he realized she was going to leave Lex standing at the alter. Why Lionel cares about Lex's lovelife or happiness now really didn't seem to make too much sense to me.:\

Naw, he just wanted Lex to owe him big time..."You'll know when it's time for me to collect."

Lex... though it doesn't make sense given Static. But it's Lex.

Lex was staring at the picture of the ultrasound and having nightmares about the baby because deep down he was feeling GUILTY about what he had done - not because he was feeling all giddy and fatherly. It has to be tough, even when you are evil, to purposely lie and deceive someone you love like that.
It was Lex 100%. Every single time they talked about the baby, they showed Lex's forced and fake emotion face just so that we could see the guilt hidden underneath.

I agree that Lex is responsible for dosing Lana with the hormones -- but as I've posted in another thread, I think he only did so after a genuinely pregnant Lana lost the baby via a very early miscarriage.
As various folk have noted here, Lex has too much emotional investment in the idea of a real baby (and the attendant Happily Ever After with Lana) -- not to mention having genuine feelings for Lana -- to make it likely for him to create a wholly imaginary pregnancy. But it would be completely in character for Lex to panic at having to tell Lana she's lost their baby (Lana might blame/reject him), and to engineer the illusion that she's still pregnant so as to postpone that particular conversation.
Yes, this isn't entirely rational, as it only postpones the inevitable (unless Lex somehow comes up with a surrogate infant and can persuade Lana that she's delivered it). But neither is Lex entirely rational where his feelings for Lana are concerned -- and that's liable to have affected his usually reliable Evil Judgment on this sort of thing.
