A lot of people seem disappointed with this episode (myself slightly included) due to all the plot holes, missed oppurtunies & lack of explanations.

I was thinking does anyone else think that maybe this was due to one of the shows newest writers getting the chance to write this episode?

Was this Geneveive Sparling's first episode?

Good question. I'm not sure. If it was though, I say kudos to her for an amazingly emotional and dramatic script, although I think the plotholes were a bit ridiculous.

Yes, I think it was. I think she was fact-checker or something before that.

I was good with the characterization and flow of the episode. But it did have plotholes and bad continuity from previous eps.

All I know Genevieve Sparling was the newscaster reporting about Dark Thursday in Sneeze. :D

IMO it's an entertaining episode, but could have been so much better. I still can't get over how Gabe isn't mentioned at all.

This was a very good filler ep. Anything with Chloe is good for me. Anyhoo, at least we know how Lana was duped into marrying Lex, but we still have no idea how Lex got the hormones into her in the first place. But considering how many times Lex has been dosed through the simple agent of his liquor cabinet, he could have got her drunk on that famous night (they did do the horizontal rumba did they not?) and laced it with the dastardly concoction.

I tought the episoe was well-crafted. Characterisatin was good, especially with Chloe (true tesnion with her mother), Lex (still thinks he's the good one), Clark (he was calm in a proactive way and I loved it when he glanced at the camera and decided not to use his powers). I liked that they used one meteor freak to give some info apart from trying to kill someone (even though he did try). I did like the doctor considering Lana faking her pregnancy - another case of someone doing some thinking. Lana was a whiny witch as always though, but hey.

I think the writer seems promising. I thought the script was good - could have been better. There was a lot of great dialog that really brought out the characters. Lex was finally given a few really great Lex speeches and really brought out his bad side. Moira's character was really well written and I wasn't disappointed at all. She was very human. I felt like we really got to know Chloe's mother after all these years of hearing about her.

Being a new staff member might account for some of the holes that I honestly don't think Smallville writers really care about at this point (there are so many). By the time a script goes from writer to airing it's been edited by producers, network, censors, etc.
