I don't get it...

So Chloe's mom allegedly elects out of NOT being a vegetable--who would do that? What--she's too chicken to commit suicide? Because she might as well be dead if she thinks things are better off just being catotonic for the remainder of her days.

Chloe barely puts up a fight....Clark just stands there acting like it's the only solution?

Clark could easily steal the drug Lex has that keeps her lucid and have it synthesized elsewhere with Queen's resources.

Queen could also easily keep her in protective custody--at least she'd be able to experience life to some extent than live it as a veggie zombie. Chloe could probably even visit her with Clark's help.

She doesn't need to be catotonic--she needs to grow a spine and fight to be conscious--instead, they all just let her slip away as a convenient plot device--oh well, nothing to be done--our hands are completely tied.

The only thing that makes sense is that the writers simply don't want to deal with her any more.

Maybe they didn't want Lynda Carter to feel like they were exploiting her just because she played Wonder Woman? Or maybe they can't guarantee that they can get her back if any one of your ideas was actually used later.

I don't think it was proper for Chloe to assume that Clark would steal the medicine for her. Primarily because he is supposed to be opposed to stealing as he was in Velocity when Pete needed him to do the same, and when his own & his family's lives were in jeopardy (Chloe's mom's wasn't). Yeah, I know that Pete got himself into that predicament, but it wouldn't make it any more right? I don't like how he gave Pete such a hassle but didn't give a 2nd thought to helping Lucy steal and helping others by stealing (Lex's laptop in Freak) when their curiosity gets them in deep sh*t. In a way, it shows a double standard.

Plus, how many times would he be able to steal it until Lex would stop making it or hide it someplace he can't find it?

It could be stolen just once and synthesized as another poster mentioned. There's room for a future appearance by Chloe's mom imho.....

Moira felt the only way to avoid her being used was to be in a catatonic state, simple as that. She was wrong, IMO, since Lex could easily find her again, but Clark and Chloe knew it was Moira's decision to make, not their's.

i was thinking the exact thing...rather than having it stolen...i'm sure clark can pull some strings with Queen Industries' scientific resources to synthesize a drug based on its purpose. I'm sure they'd be able to synthesize something similar. To me, it seemed like a sweep under the rug.
