Annulment.
Promise under duress, isn't a promise. Gotta be some law against that.

Yeah, it's only a matter of time.

There is, I've listed them before.
Lana has like five things against this marriage that can easily have her get a annulment.

three: words not gonna happen
she'll be trapped in this shotgun marrige for at least the rest of this season, if not most of next.

i agree they will get an annulment, but how will lionel's threat be dealt with.

Maybe. But I think it will stick for a while, at least til she finds out about the baby.

Clark will snap Lionel's neck like the mb he is or Lex will do the deed himself and then Lana doesn't have to worry about Lionel's threat.

And that's very soon.
I hope so and I hope that she does have a child and that something is wrong with it, instead of "Oh you don't know Lana was never with child, it was all a lie"
If that is the case, there was build-up for nothing.

well i think the basic thing will be if Lionel dies or is incapacitated for a period of time Lana will be able to reveal the threat on Clarks life...problem solved (not including the problem of actually leaving lex though)

Lexana will be over in Nemesis. Hopefully, earlier. Clana needs to come back soon.

I think that when Lana dumps Lex, it will be the event that sends him into his deepest darkness... the event where his evil comes out and never goes away.
It'll happen, because TPTB said that they try to stay very close to the mythology, even though it may not seem like it, they do. I don't think we'll see Lana get together with Pete in Smallville's remaining time, but I think that she WILL ditch Lex
She'll dump Lex when she loses the baby. Come on, evil spawn just shouldn't be born.

Eventually I think they will get an annulment (I don't remember Lex Luthor having a wife for a long period of time, especially Lana) but I think the marriage will be played on for a few more episodes.
Maybe part of the season finale is Lana trying to break things off and Lex not letting her.

My thoughts exactly, there is no way Lex is going to let Lana walk away. Just look at what he did to the doctor when things didn't go according to his plans.

Nothing new for Lex. Marriage annulments have become part of his life. He's the SV's version of Ross Geller.

Lex never stays married for very long. Eventually Lana is going to find a way out of the marriage. I just wonder what Lex is going to do to try to keep Lana from leaving him.

I think the coupling won't last through this season but legally it may last into the first part of next season. I hope Lana uses Lionel's threat against Lionel in Lex's presence to manipulate Lex into killing Lionel. Then, Lana will seek the protection of Clark (knowing his abilities) from a vindictive Lex - causing the rift to grow to an all-new level.
