I can't believe how evil Lex was at that moment....without Lana he would be a tyrant.

Lex was all surprised and shocked and guilty....BUT he's killed before.

But this was his first hands-on kill that would be defined as a murder, right? Or at least a negligent homicide.

SER: Given Lex's access to high-priced lawyers, I imagine he could probably weasel out with a lesser charge, especially considering that it was in the heat of the moment and he's diagnosed as having mental issues ("Shattered").

Oh come on, he was enjoying it. Stowing the Drs body away like that and then the washing his hands of all of it. And a stain on his shirt, too. Poor guy.

Maybe I saw it diffrent. If this was his "turning" point into the evil Lex we all want him to be then that scene just doesn't cut it.

I was really expecting a subtle smile with a look of a rush of power with the taking of a life with his own hands. I will have to rewatch that scene and see if I just missed it
And was I the only one that was a bit surprised that Lex didn't murder Lionel in their last scene together. Now Lionel has the same power over Lex the Dr. had and I don't see how Lex will allow for such a loose end.

Lex killing the doctor would have been cool if he wasn't slapped around like a little beyootch by MB later on.

I knew that the doctor will somehow be killed off during this episode, but I give it to the doc pushing Lex's buttons of desperation and regretting what he done to Lana because of Lex.

i dont understand why the doctor all of a sudden changed his mind tho..earlier (or even the day before) he was doing the ultrasound for him..

The Dr. being an idiot definately picked the wrong place and time to hit Lex up with blackmail. And Lex, killing him didn't surprise me just doing it in the church did.
Lex is so evil right now but he's still scared of his dad...what gives!

When will we see him kill someone for evil intentions and on purpose. Its never both its always "I'm alluding to kill you" (Aqua) or "I need to kill you to protect myself..."(Can't think of any particular eppy but I'm sure I've seen that scenario!)
Let him kill someone he intends to kill and NO ACCIDENTAL MURDERS! Geez, he's practically as evil, as evil gets what are they waiting for?!

Lex responds differently to threats from his father than he does to threats from other people precisely because he is Lex’s father. No matter how old we get, there is still an innate inhibition to striking out at one’s parent. Just as there is often that innate urge in them to treat their adult offspring as children.
Not to mention Lex has been verbally and mentally assaulted by his father his entire life.
Lex defers to Lionel out of childish instinct as well as ingrained fear. But a time is coming when Lex will reach his limit, and that is a moment for which I feel most viewers salivate with anticipation.

I think the turning point for Lex was far earlier, in Lexmas. He chose to turn down the path of evil, but what intrigues me is that he did it for love.
I think he felt trapped in Promise, that he wanted to stop the doctor somehow, but he was shocked when he realized the man was dead.

Yeah Lex has killed before, but it's always been in self defense. This time it's more evil b/c he killed for other reasons, so what's to stop him from killing other people that get in his way? Especially if he got away with it, now the path should be cleared to make Lex go all the way to the dark side! :-

Even though Lex didn't kill them with his own hands, he was still responsible for killing all of those FOTW's in Freak.
Yeah, seeing Lex beat that doctor is shocking but he's done it before and didn't feel any remorse afterwards.

I was just watching "Promise" again, and when Lex meets up with the doctor, and is about to kill him, Lex says, "I will not let you take her away from me!"
Who is Lex reffering to, Lana or the baby?

Clearly Lana, because the Doctor said "Wire $2 million to this account, or Ms. Lang will know everything". Lex was not willing to have Lana find out the truth and leave him, so he snapped and beat the granola out of the Doc.

Lex's murder scene was pretty intense, but it just doesn't seem realistic for a doctor to meet with a billionaire (who's capable of having unlimited resources) to blackmail him face to face.
I mean...it's not like Dr. Lang could over-power Lex physically to have that much assurance that Lex would comply with his demands. Dr. Lang could've atleast came with a weapon to protect himself, ot better yet, blackmail Lex over the phone. No matter how desperate someone is or how one may have the upperhand, no person in their right mind would arrange a meeting they way this went down. Plus if the good doctor felt what's he been involved with was immoral and unethical, why blackmail someone for 2 million dollars?
Sounds crazy, but I was kinda glad Lex knocked some sense into him while beating him to death. Dr. Lang got what he deserved for being greedy and lack of common sense.
