View Full Version : Theory on the Explosion in NYC

the was one sentence from last week's episode in which i glean this theory, but i think it's a rather logical one. everyone assumes (including peter himself) that he is the source of the bomb that goes off in NYC. however, in last week's episode, tedd meets up with matt and mentions that everyone who has been experimented on by primatech has had an isotope inserted into them that makes them all radioactive. matt immediately dismisses this fact, saying that tedd is already radioactive.

my theory is that the twist in the who bomb storyline is that the explosion is actually supposed to be a culmination of all those who have been experimented on somehow exerting their radioactivity and collectively causing an explosion... so that in the end, it won't be peter at all (despite his vision.)

thoughts?

i sincerely doubt that for a few reasons.

1) That would necessitate everyone who has that isotope to be in NYC at the same time
2) Hiro saw the explosion occur in NYC
3) Isaac's exploding man painting (it has to be either Teddy or Petey)
4) That would be a pretty lame twist

Lets remember this, Sylar was there in New York when the explosion happened during Hiro's first visit.
Sylar had just emptied Isaac's skull pryor to when Hiro arrived in the studio.

As was the gun given to Isaac by HRG.

1) that would be pretty easy to do for the writers
2) again, it could be written as such
3) that's what they WANT us to think... seems a bit too obvious, doesn't it?
4) different strokes for different folks

I'm going to run with the theory that it is Sylar himself that blows up. It makes more sense. HE cannot control his powers......HE would be the one to probably rip Tedd's head open in the season finale, and probably not able to control it....rampages...then ...Boom

If Sylar tried to kill Ted and take his power wouldn't Ted just start exploding like when he got shot?

Yeah he does, I didn't think about that. It was confirmed in one of the online graphic novels. But I don't think he'd be able to freeze him with Ted sending out wave after wave after wave of nuclear energy and burning everything.

I don't think the wirters would goo some radical tangent like this oput of nowhere. They have been VERY consistent in their wriitng and kept time travel continuity stable. I hope this is not going to happen. I doubt it will.
