Seems like it, there was an episode in Season 4 (I believe it was Scare) where Chloe dreams that she's in a mental institution, now this. I'm assuming all signs point to her going nutso.

It's possible.

It's just character continuity. We've known about Chloe's family history of mental illness for a long time. The writers through that in because they know that Clark would remember Chloe's family history from the real world, therefore the Phantom would be using something like that to convince him that the AU is the real world.

i don't think so. I liked the tug-of-war between lana/clark/chloe. Clark seemed so confused!

Or it could foreshadow her death, protecting Clark.

^ That's a possibility, but I don't think it foreshadows her going crazy.

I don't think that it foreshadows anything quite honestly. However, TPTB really want to keep reminding viewers that Chloe has this mental illness that is in her family.

It's always a possibility, but then at the same time it could also foreshadow Lionel and Martha getting married, Lana and Nell buying the Kent farm, and Clark not actually having powers.
I think that the Zoner just had Clark dream up some worst-case scenarios.

The Phantom was trying to eliminate everything that would make Clark want to fight treatment... So he had his lone ally killed (and the MM hauled away every chance possible).

I felt bad for clark in the talon he really did seem like he was unsure, and chloe's "U never could resist her" and her expression when he said he still luved her was great. If anythin I got the impression that tptb r goin to playup the old triangles again of chloe/clark/lana & clark/lana/lex jus off both talon scenes wit the 3.But as for chloe goin crazy I doubt it,I mean we didn't even get to see her in the asylum like I thought, and she didn't seem crazy when she was wit clark. She jus seem focus on helpin him get his powers back so I dont think its forshadowin for her bein crazy, maybe her closeness to clark tho. What I got from it was her bein close to clark yet his obsession wit lana makes him giveup everythin and if he doesn't value what he DOES have maybe she should rethink things herself.Thats what I got from it,but then again she doesn't kno everythin that happen so we'll see.I do think her walkin away from clana is a sign she wont put up wit it later cause clark is still 2 confused

I thought the moment in Tomb where they didn't show Chloe's Mother's face, but Chloe's at the end, was a bigger foreshadowing than this.

I think this eppi even more-so, forshadowed her death. With this episode, along with that quote about the obituary (sp?) in Hydro..I sense no more SuperChloe.

No more SuperChloe would be great! It's time chloe met her end.

I don't really think Chloe is going to go bonkers, but I do have to give props to TPTB for referencing the heriditart mental illness that runs in her family. Continuity can be fun.

Chloe was perfectly sane in the dream going by RW standards just as Clark was sane going by RW standards. She was telling Clark the complete truth. And she was the only person who knew his secret (over Martha and Lionel) that the Phantom could not control. Funny how though they SAY she was a patient, she claimed to be a reporter working on a big story (and the wall of weird was like all around her room? lol)...and also told Clark he couldnt trust the Luthors, even though everyone else in the Dream said they were trustworthy...

Well, she was a few fries short of a happy meal in the alternate universe part.

I would feel bad if they killed her off though, that'd be pretty...overwhelming I guess, because Chloe is the only one who keeps Clark sane.

I hope Chloe doesn't go crazy..she's so smart! I don't even want to get into her character dying..but I think we all know it's coming. How awful would that make Clark feel if he knew Chloe died to protect him???

nss17...i dont want crazziness either....but IF TPTB MUST kill her off...IF.....then the ONLY THING I WILL ACCEPT is her dying to protect his secret...nothing else....AND THEN...THEN I want to see some friggin tears....

I think that you misunderstood what was going on. In the dream, Chloe was completely crazy. The only way that she knew about Clark was through what Clark told her throughout the years when they were in the asylum together.

But you have to love how they put the wall of weird there. Making her look even more crazy.

I concur, thats the only way I'd accept it but I think tonight set it up so she won't have to meet either fate(Insanity or death).

I thought that Chloe was crazy. She believed Clark because most crazies fly together.

I figure she broke out of the aslyum somewhat like Clark did, or was released because they assumed she was better. All she had to do was pretend like she didn't think Clark had powers even though she thought he did.

She is the one who drew the gun first. Those men were ignoring her. She died for nothing.

The talon was a mess. Why would anyone sane stay there knowing it's the first place the Lothors' would probably look? I bet going under to her meant going to hide out at the highschool in the old newspaper office.

The Luthors' wasn't the bad guys. It was the doctor. Chloe was blaming the Lothors' for everything under the sun. She thought the doctor was working for the Lothor's and he was not.

I'm a little worried that it might be foreshadowing her going crazy especially since Clark didn't tell Chloe at the end that she was crazy in the AU. But like someone mentioned earlier In the AU Chloe told Clark that the are not crazy that they are just the only two who know the truth. Which could symbolized them sharing the secret so technically they weren't crazy at all int he AU. Chloe knew and believed all of Clarks powers. YEah she was a little nuts I mean the talon and pulling out that gun Cuckoo ;)

I actually do think they have done a lot of foreshadowing of Chloe going crazy.

- Scare (her worst fear was going crazy like her mom, and she said in that epi that it was hereditary)
- Tomb (wasn't she in Belle Reve, or Lex was going to transfer her to Belle Reve, and then she went to visit her mother at the end)
- Labyrinth.

It reminds me of how they kept talking about Jonathan Kent's heart problems and how Clark didn't want to go to college far away because he was afraid his dad was going to die.
