When the drill was coming at Clark's head, Lana disappeared and Clark thought about Shelby, causing him to realize that MM was telling the truth.

lol!!! but the whole reason they put him in this episode--i put the subtitles on my T.V so i can read the original script they gave to the company. and its says during the dream' [ANIMAL BARKING] so i knew it was shelby cuz he was barking at the phantom. but through out the entire episode he was there barking and clark couldnt hear him. actually funny for the BDA to not hear shelby barking in his face!!! lol

Shelby is back! Yay! It's amazing the continuity they've had on the show this week... I really do think they check out all these forums and try to address all the complaints.

We're like "where's shelby??" and bang, they bring her back. Last season we'ere like "there's never any continuity" and this season they've really stepped it up. They even mention Whitney tonight! Now, I just need to hear about Pete and I'll really be amazed.

I was skimming channels a while back and I saw on Animal Planet that animal actors don't make that much at all, usual a flat rate of around $200 a scene with a cap of $1000 a day. Most of that is for the animal handler.
Bud the Dog (Shelby) is not a big name, so that may be what they are paying for Bud/Shelby.

I believe the program was "Dogs with Jobs".
