What if: Peter heads to Kansas and meets a farm boy named Clark that appears to have gifts as well. Then Hiro shows up in Metropolis to find that Mr. Linderman is really and ALIAS for a man named Lex Luthor.
Just playing around folks.. but for the comic fans that like to read the WHAT IF comics.. a Heroes/Smallville cross over could be really fun.

Ill humor you. Well, kind of.
Going into the whole realm of what-if, Id rather like the universe of Heroes to merge with the universe of Marvel rather than Smallville/DC.
Why?
Well I can more easily see the characters there.
Linderman = Kingpin. A man rarely getting his own hands dirty. A man with no powers who has a vested interest in those with.
Mr. Bennet = Nick Fury. A man who isnt a hero, but also a man who isnt a villian. His intentions have been shown to be good, however, his methods very shady.
And, while we have yet to learn of the origin of their powers whether it be mutation or experimentation, either would fit perfectly in the Marvel universe.
My personal theory behind the Heroe's powers is a little bit of both anyways. I believe that it all goes back to World War II, just like Marvel.
Back in World War II(according my Heroe's theory) the governments of the nations involved(USA UK Germany and Japan) began super soldier experimentations(Sounds like the origin of Captain America doesnt it?). However the war ended and the experiments with it. By the end of the war there was no conclusive results with the patients and they went on with their lives.
A generation(or two) passes and the patients involved in these experiments have children(and they have children). Here we finally see the results of the experimentation.
It's called mutation.
Heroe's would easily fit in Marvel.

Nice. I was more thinking TV cross overs but you're right, Heroes is much more of a Marvel type of comic story.

Peter would kick ass, cause he would actually USE Clark's powers, assuming he could absorb them, which I'm assuming would occur in such a cross-over.

Peter would attempt to use his powers but end up getting caught in a 6 year love triangle with clark and lana...

Power (noun): great ability to do or act.
Ability: (noun): power to do or act.
So, Clark's abilities can be defined as powers also.
Back on topic, a Heroes/Smallville crossover is fun to think of, even though it'd never happen. I'd envision it as being like another "Justice" episode.

yeah..Clark DOES have powers...what else would you call them? lol
However, Peter Petrelli absorbs the power of other metaHUMANS. He absorbs powers that are alike of the (mutant) human genome. Clark is Kryptonian and his biological system is completely different.

My post was in response to jessestuber. Maybe I should've quoted, but I didn't expect someone else to post at the same time as me.

clark would own peters ass any day
peter wouldnt be able to get any powers off clark and its simple as to the reason why
clark is not human, he is a complete different species from a different planet, trying to absorb a power from clark would be like trying to absorb power off a bird to fly which i doubt peter can do, yes he can fly but he absorbed these powers from other metahumans.
i wouldnt call clarks ability to do things beyond normal human beings a power because for example, when we walk, it isnt a special power, its just our natural biological ability, so even though clarks abilities apear to be a power to us, to the kryptonians its simple a natural biological abilty that they do not consider as being super in anyway.
When a person can do something which others like him cannot do, something which is out of the ordinary, thats what i would call a special power
sorry for the long essay, but iv always been a fan of superman and i just had to prove that clark would toss peter aside as if peter was a lil poodle

Clark and Peter are actually on the same team, the real question is would Sylar be able to determine that he needs Kryptonite to kill CK and eat his kryptonian brain. But that of course wouldnt happen because the first time he sees Lana he will have to stalk her so he wont have the time.

One way a Heroes/Smallville crossover could work:
We are all in agreement that this is a 'what if' situation, not canon in any way to either series. That being said here we go:
Data miners within the 'Company' stumble across a small town school newspaper containing archived stories of so called 'meteor freaks'. Since these people are exhibiting powers and abilities beyond that of a normal humans, HRG is sent to investigate. Upon his arrival he is told to contact Lex Luthor who has intimate knowledge of the situation in Smallville, and has offered to help the 'Company in any way he can. Unbeknownst to HRG, he was given the assignment to keep him from interfering with the team that Thompson has sent to abduct Claire in NYC.
Meanwhile in NY, Claire is getting acquainted with her new family, the Petrelli's, at lunch with Angela and Nathan. After eating they are headed to see Peter when they are attacked by Thompsons' goon squad outside of Peters' apartment. The noise of the attack wakes Peter who is still recovering from Sylars' attack. He sees what is happeneing and flies down and quickly dispatches the goons. In doing so, he is seen by many people to be using his abilities. Nathan fearing for his political future and wishing to distance himself from Peter until the election, convinces Peter to take his newly introduced neice Claire out of town for a while. Angela tells them to head to Metropolis and meet up with Perry White who runs a newspaper in that city and he will provide them with safe place to stay, anonymity, and anything else they might need.
So far so good:)
I did not think I would need this much space for an idea. I guess you could say I got inspired. I got more ideas to finish the story but I would like to know what y'all think. This is my first attempt at this kind of creative writing and I will post this and subsequent chapters into a fanfic thread.
First time, please, be gentle:D

That actually sounds good, you ought to try writing it all out in the Fan Fic areas.
