In the scene in the mansion, Clark said something along the lines of ''What are you going to do if Lana finds out?'' to Lex. I have to say, there was absolutely no need for Clark to say that to Lex what-so-ever. That line was completely unnecessary and irrelevant. In my opinion, it was almost as if Clark was trying to start something with Lex in a round-about-way. Also, I find it to be very rude of Clark to just show up at the mansion, especially given the fact that he's no longer welcome. He then accuses Lex of murder with no proof, but suspicion.

well it wasn't exactly a social call. people were found buried in a massive grave nearly holocaust style and all road signs pointed to Lex. Given Luthor's actions as of late, it's no surprise Clark's less than convinced of Lex's innocence. It's almost hard to see how much their relationship has deteriorated, accentuated by the fact Lex now has Lana.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that TPTB have really forgot how to write Clark/Lex scenes. They just had to work Lana into the discussion somehow just like always, and in the preview, it looks like Clark and Lex will be having a nice little chat about Lex's proposal. They just can't seem to make their scenes work anymore or even make sense.

I had no problems at all with Clark going to mansion and confronting Lex. Since Clark was escorted in, then obviously Lex LET him in. So really, if Lex didn't want him there, just have him barred at the door.

But yes, Clark should not have brought up Lana...because Lana is really too boring a subject for Clark and Lex to be having a pissing contest over.

Clark actually showed to me how much he hates the fact that Lex is with Lana. It was his chose to push Lana away and now he has to live with it. I also did not like Clark accusung Lex without any facts except he owned the land.

I think that Clark perhaps will learn to get more facts before accusing Lex, and this will help him become a better reporter. As for the Lana thing, I don't like when the Lex/Clark scenes are CENTERED around Lana, but this scene wasn't, so I actually liked it quite well. I didn't LIKE that Clark brought her up, but I didn't MIND it, because I don't look at it so much as him hating Lex BECAUSE he's with Lana, but more like he's looking out for Lana because he still cares for her, and he wishes Lana were with anyone else BUT Lex. Lex became Clark's enemy last season through moral conflicts, not romantic intanglements. Had Lex and Clark still been friends, I think Clark would not be so protective of Lana when it comes to Lex. But right now, I think he's trying to ensure her safety, which is a good thing to do, seeing as Lex is becoming the future villain we all know him as, and Clark is one of the only people who can see that transformation happening. Lana is clearly blind to it. Even if he doesn't have feelings for Lana anymore, Clark can still care for her.

But yeah, the reason I didn't mind is that the scene wasn't ABOUT her. It felt more like a good old-fashioned Clark Vs. Lex scene (the moral accusation, the denial, the good vs. evil). I also liked how the scene looked. Lex was wearing total black, and Clark in his Superman blue (or red, I forget), with the fire in the background, suggesting a war-like atmosphere.

Now, one thing I wasn't sure of: in the end, Lex wasn't killing people, but he WAS exploiting immigrant laborers, right? I just wasn't 100% sure. Why was he doing this? To help the farmer so that he could keep an eye on the farmer and test him?

totally, sometimes, but only imo on the Clark-side. Lex is slippery cool as ever these days but Clark's turned into a Jonthan-Lite with a side of whiney-bayatch.

imo he was simply observing the farmer. but maybe I'm being naive.

That's the way it's suppose to be. Right and wrong.

What was Lex doing with the immigrant laborers? Were all of them illegal immigrants?

Man, I guess Lex doesn't care about illegal immigrants entering America.
