I'd have to say "Shimmer" was my least favorite episode of the first season. It wasn't terrible, but it just wasn't memorable at all.

The second episode, mostly because it took the wind out of my sails when I saw it on DVD. "Everyone seems to love Season 1, surely *this* can't be the Smallville everyone talks abou tloving?" But also pretty much every meteor freak episode that didn't further the main storyline (Hourglass was one of the rare meteor freak episodes of S1 I liked.)

My fav epi in S1 would be Nicodemus. My sister agrees. I just got her into SV. She just finished S1. I actually liked craving too. That epi. gets a bad wrap sometimes, but I liked it.

I suppose my least favourite episode would be...ooh, this is hard! Uh, I'll go for Metamorphosis as it's the only one I haven't watched. Having said that, despite Season One's habit of putting in new meteor freaks, I will always like it as it is the first season, everyone is fresh-faced and it has a 'homely feel'.

Chloe starts digging into Clark's adoption which raises questions and pays off nicely in season 2. I was shocked when Chloe was more interested in Clark's adoption than a severed hand in the Talon. That's true... but this episode really... showed us the night life of Metropolis the way it looked in Season 3. But you're right. LOL! I think of this as the first Metropolis episode.

Yeah, for me, "Reaper" narrowly edges out "Craving" for getting the title of "Worst Episode of Season 1." I think what ends up keeping "Craving" from hitting rock bottom for me is the simple fact that it includes Amy Adams, who I LOVE in several roles she's played. Maybe that's kind of a silly, shallow reason, but hey, we're all entitled to our own opinion. And a guy who turns people to ashes by touching them to relieve their pain? Not exactly the most inventive or well thought-out episode idea TPTB have come up with...

"Reaper" and "Zero" are pretty much tied for my least favorites of season one. Metahumans turning people to ash and that weird stalker for Lex are just awful.

I can't say I absolutely hated any of the episodes from Season One, but if I had to choose a least favourite it was the one where that guy makes himself invisible and attempts to kill off everybody who upsets his sister. I forgot the name...

Ah, that would be "Shimmer," Supermania. It definitely wasn't one of the strongest episodes of the season, but it did have some nice relationship-building moments between many of the main characters, so I don't generally rate it as too bad. I agree with you that Season 1 as a whole was a good, strong start to the series.

Reaper wins by a sizeable margin - the whole thing just makes me go ugh, mainly because the guest star was so lifeless - trying too hard I think to find the sympathetic side of a killer. Kinetic would come in next - Whitney's arc was a big bore for me.

If I had to pick one to dislike the most probably Crush. There is a few episodes that are borderline Disliked/Neutral but I just put them in the Neutral category because I feel in later Seasons I might be able to find episodes I truly dislike, S1 eps all had a subtle (non angsty) charm.
