Could Clark have been in this episode ANY less? I mean, I don't mind plotlines that don't involve Clark, but he was in this episode a total of what, 6 minutes?
I was kinda hoping that since he traveled all that way to be super and save people that we'd see some action!

This show is now about the soap opera that is lex and lana, clark saving ppl is just extra stuff, Superman might as well be listed as a guest start cause thats about all he does.

Yeah, this really pissed me off. I think we saw Batista more than Clark. Hell, I think we saw Shelby more than we saw Clark.
And damn, they didn't even give us a name for Batista's character.

LOL. Yea the lack of Clark kind of sucked. Every scene he was in he was just kind of......walking around aimlessly. That last scene with Chloe in the barn, he sort of acted rather blunt....like he was on drugs or something. I just hope he gets more screen time next episode! :)

Yeah, Batista was in all of 1 minute of scenes and the fact that they took this episode and turned it into sappy lexanaville....I can't stand that. I had high hopes for this episode and it turned out being crap.

^^ I know! I mean, they pimped the heck outta the Clark/Batista storyline in the previews, yet the show was mostly about Lex and Lana. Superman who? Kal-what now?

And people claim this was the Green Arrow Show, he wasn't even in the episode and we still saw less Clark! WTF! I'm pissed... too much Lexana, even if I do like them together, I would rather see more Clark and less them.

I'm getting a little tired of everybody complaining we don't see much of Clark. Sure, the show's about Clark growing up, but what about the other characters? Maybe the whole up-to-now Lexana episodes was to set us up for this proposal. Honestly, just watching Clark kick the piss out of people for 6 straight seasons is good, but we need some variation.
I don't mean to sound mean, but maybe you guys are just a little hung up on getting Clark's story over with. I'm actually glad to see the other characters develop a bit, because it gives us a sense that they are all infected by what is happening as well, and not just a side-story fit into a Clark-based universe.
they make Clark seem like a complete idiot, always that blank look in his eyes in the last scene he was thinking about those oreo cookies instead of listening to Chloe. I mean even Jimmy seems smarter then him. o well at least he's hot...

I would've at least loved to see an overview of Clarke running from Kansas to Seattle, like when he ran to South America.

I would agree, except that they're spending more time developing guest characters like Ollie and even Jimmy, and ships like Lollie and Lexana and not developing the main character of this show, Clark Kent.
Like I said in my first post, I have absolutely no problem with storylines that don't have Clark in them. But when we get Clark saying "I won't rest til all the Zoners are either captured or destroyed," then we get Clark going after a Zoner, yet we're too distracted by Lexana professing love and proposing marriage, and Lexana/Chimmy kissing, hugging, flirting...
I'm sorry, but this show's main character IS Clark Kent. And this is hs journey. Yet we saw... 6-7 minutes of him tonight?

yeah i think the lexana plotline is grabbing TOO much screen time... and it's not even about angst anymore. Lexana, at first, was angst so people would watch... now it's like Clark and Lana in the beg-mid season 5. it's like almiles are forgetting that smallville is about smallville (lois's affectionate nickname :)).
I'm all up for the lexana being there, but it can't dominate the screen time. I wasn't completely bored with the plotline cuz of 33.1, but normally it's boring teen "we're trying to be adult" stuff...

Spidymich to the TPTB: "Whatever happened to this show being about Clark?"
TPTB talking amongst themselves: "Clark, is he..in..this..show?"
-"Um, yeah I ah think he is."
-"Oh yeah, he's the guy that wears that red jacket all the time. Yeah we gave hime some screen time, but not too much. Lex and Lana are hot right now."
Spidymich: "What the @#$& are you @#$%&!* thinking! 'Lex and Lana are hot right now?' Of all the...{goes on angry rant&rave and then starts to gag. Recieves glass of water and stops gagging, but is still very pissed.}

I think some people are missing out on something... TPTB wouldn't spend this much time developing the other characters/story arcs if it wasn't leading up to something big!
We are literally at the verge of watching Clark take his first step to becoming Superman, there's just got to be some build up to it! If they laid it all out on the table now... what show would we have left to watch? Clark flying around and being superboy? That's a different show folks!

Yeah. I feel like I'm missing out on Clark's journey. And I mean 'journey' in the truest sense of the word. Another Zoner was just defeated, but did we hear more than three lines from that Zoner? Did we get much of a fight? Do we really understand why Clark was so stiff in the barn? No. Instead, we got a room full of roses and candles, a proposal, a baby, lots of kissing and flirting. If someone were to tell me that this episode was part of a series about Superman's journey, I'd tell them they were wacko.
I do understand what you're saying about the other characters needing development, but when that development overshadows the hero's development, that's when I ***** and whine.

I agree I was disappointed that batista didn't appear more, and clark appear even less.It had potential to be great(Jus as sneeze)but turned into a lexana story. And the fotw wasn't that impressive, suprise no one even thought of the guy lyin there wit a knife to the chest when lexana return  .I jus thought we could have saw more from both batista and clark, but the episode was cool.Jus should have been more action
I gotta say the clark going off investigating was cool but I totally expected more. I mean here we have a new phatom zone criminal and clark off tracking him down only to nearly die and have him dusted by some other kid of stranger. In comparison to the rest of the episode it maybe consitituted 20 percent of the story. It left a bitter taste in my mouth i felt like the entire episode was wasted on Lana and Lex.

Here's the bottom line with this episode. If you want to jam lexana down our throats...fine, make us suffer throught it, but don't give us a plot with Clark and Batista in the same episode. Give us one terrible Lexana episode and give us nothing but Clark and Batista the following week. I can live with that. I felt that I was watching Jaws tonight where the shark (Batista) didn't appear until the episode was half over. And I love Jaws, one of my favorite movies, but we got a over an hour to see the shark and all of 70 seconds to see Batista.

Totally agree! It was around 7:35 and I was wondering where the hell Batista was!
Oh, and don't advertise the episode with Clark/Batista clips and voiceovers, if all we're gonna get is LEXANA.

This show is supposed to be about Clark's journey. The other characters are supposed to be supporting characters on how he becomes Superman. I understand like some of you that they need screen time to explain things, but I do agree that it is turning into the Lex/Lana soap opera. The writers/producers seem to forget who the main character is sometimes and go off on different tangents. Sub-plots and other stories can either be shortened or eliminated all together. For example, we know in the comics/movies, that Clark ends up with Lois, but the producers are spending like 2 lines every 4 shows developing their relationship. I am beginning to think that the producers introduced too many characters and have lost sight of Clark at times. If this is the last season, they have to get moving, I don't want like the last 2 episodes of this season having Clark becoming Superman, becoming his destiny and leaving with Lois, etc.

The show is primarily about Clark, but sometimes if the episode focuses on him less because the plot surrounds other people, I don't mind.

True, but when they start off with him and build it up to be something that its not....that makes me angry.

They're trying to build Lex up using Lana. It seems like Lex has everything... then they'll pull the rug out... at least that's what I think... and if that is the case, then that takes time... and the payoff should be cool.

I agree/hope so... probably somewhere in between. :)
When is Clark going to get over the shock of seeing NON-humans and USE HIS POWERS already??? I mean I shouted at him five times to use his heat vision and... NOTHING. (sigh)

Clark wasn't in the ep much, but at least Clark was actually investigating on HIS OWN! That's BIG for him.
Don't worry, yall's random filler ep with lots of Clark AKA Subterreanen is comming. Don't cry to me when it's mostly a pointless ep and Clark magically "forgets" whatever grand lesson he was suspose to learn in that ep by Hydro.

LOL, I meant in general. In the past most eps have mostly focused on Clark and a random FOTW and that's just about it. Now that's not the case and peeps are griping. Even though the characters are actually "growing" now. :(
Well, don't worry. The random filler ep with lots of Clark is coming in Dec. LOL, poor thing didn't even get a trailer. :p

Actually 8 min 20 sec's my wife and I clock the whole show. It was like Tom was a guest on his own show. Don't know what they (TPTB) are doing. I think that they need to get their act together. Also most of the directing this year is so bad and I am not to impressed with all of the writers. TPTB need to get everything under control and give us a fresh start.. Hopefully things will turn around because I do like this show very much and don’t want to see it go down the tubes…….

Yeah, Superman's old age.
Plus, why on earth would I want to assume that TPTB have a plan? At least a plan that tells the Clark to Superman story and the Lex to Evil Lex story. TPTB all too often try to make a show around Lana and I think Lana is too insignificant a character on which to base a series. Certainly, she is not an interesing character for me. I realize that Lana played a part in Clark's growing up, but I will NOT accept that she play such a pivotal role in both Lex's and Clark's lives. The more that TPTB try to shove her down our collectives throats, the more determined I become to not watch those parts of the show where Lana is featured.
