We went back to when Clark and the other Phantoms came out and saw one of them come out and take over Bow Wow, who didn't do half that bad.
There was mention of the episode "Relic" in which Jor-El was sent to Earth and found Clark's grandparents which made him choose that family on Earth to raise Kal-El.
All of Jor-El's tests have been to prepare him for his destiny of saving Earth.
The training in the future.
The baby blinket sent with baby Kal-El.
Lex was finally the Lex from the comics, all about Alien technology and not letting anyone push him around. It was great seeing how he handled Jimmy and Clark. Refering to Lana in the hospital, "We're both doing fine."
I hate the character of Lana with a passion, but I like her being Lex's toy. Finally, she's in over her head. I can't wait to continue to see her get corrupted.
There were many more than I can't think of right now. If anyone knows anymore please post them.

The crystal from Zod reappeared. Chloe actually mentioned Jimmy being absent for all that time. The black box, of course, which is gone now. Lots of continuity in this one, I challenge any of you to come up with a plot hole.

Okay, maybe this is just me, but I noticed recently a few errors in continuity recently that has started to bug me.
No. 1- In the last episode (yes I know it's not THIS episode, but still..) Clark mentions that "Oliver still owes me one" in front of Chloe... but... she didn't know that Queen was the Green Arrow... so wouldn't that have been giving it away to her?
No. 2- In this episode, Clark talks about catching his dad seeming jealous of his superpowers.. that his dad seemed to want to know how it felt.. and Raya goes "but he never did"
But that's not true... his father DID know EXACTLY how it felt... and Clark didn't even give a minor shrug, a minor comment about it...
Also, people have been talking recently about this whole "I'm ready to face my destiny" and I thought it may be interesting to note that this could simply be a foreshadowing of the season finale.... he leaves to be trained... and returns the next season... as the beginnings of Superman... pre-costume.
Or... it could be a way to end the series all-together.. have him go off into training..... and show a minor clip of him returning... flying. And then end.
Finally about symbolism: anyone know the Biblical references here?
only son of Jor-El... sent to save Earth... Jesus is, in the bible, the only son of God... sent to save the human race...
In order for Clark to become that final Saviour, he leaves and learns his destiny.. and then returns.. Much like Jesus is supposed to return...
Also... biblically speaking, God only helps those who accept and admit who they are.... who accept their destiny and "give themselves over" to God...
BTW, not trying to preach, I'm Muslim myself, I just read a lot, and biblical references are a very common theme in western literature...
I mean... Lex=Judah... the friend turned enemy... green Kryptonite is Clark's weakness, and also has historically been attributed to greed- one of the greatest weaknesses of man...
I dunno, just food for thought... even Lana has a role to play btw... the biblical "temptress"...

I thought that's what the writers were getting at with the line "is it the game that you don't like, or the fact that someone's playing it on your level?" After which Lex demands the box.... uhh, then says "please". God help Lex, he's got the Magnificent Bastard on one side, and the Magnificent B1tch on the other.

Other things I considered to be a victory for continuity on the show:
- Clark and Raya's speedracing around town reminded me a lot of Clark and Bart in S4's "Run"
- Lex using his pull at The Daily Planet to fire Jimmy reminded me of Lionel using his pull to can Chloe from S3's "Delete". Both characters were axed from their positions for crossing a Luthor.
Just thought it was interesting...

I'm also glad there was mention of Clark's training because it started in Arrival but was cut short by the need to save Chloe. Then Clark didn't return and lost his powers.

The ship was mentioned too. Raya helped create it. But there is something, maybe already discussed in season 5 posts. When Clark creates the Fortress he sees glimpses of Krypton, footage of Superman the movie, and the "old style ship" appears in those glimpses. That is a contradiction, unless the ship that gets to Earth had already lost all it's spikes along the way.

Please excuse me if this has been discussed thoroughly in another thread, but, one issue of continuity is 6 weeks. Zod took place the day after Vessel.
1 week goes by = Sneeze
2 weeks = Wither
3 weeks = Arrow
4 weeks = Reunion
5 weeks = Fallout
1 missing week
Now we could add another week after Zod to give 2 weeks going by for Sneeze. I'm not sure about this because I haven't re-watched the episodes to make certain of a time reference. So correct me if I'm wrong.
Now the biggest continuity thing I'm seeing is not the missing week but the fact that in the past Smallville has always made up for the three months in summer. We just had a costume ball in July in that case :) If anyone is seeing it differently please discuss because that kinda through me last night seeing the six weeks thing. What am I missing?

I think its great! we've been waiting for some continuity and I think its great that they are doing it in season 6. It makes you remember past episodes that we might have forgotten and it brings it all together! I think if continuity was in every episode I think it would be so predictable and boring...and then we wouldn't have anything to talk about!! lol
I can't wait to see how corrupt Lana will be ..I loved that Clark and Lex scene! did you see her face rollin her eyes with Lex talked lol
haha as soon as Lex left she opened up with Clark...I love it...finially some trust issues will be resolved between those too hopefully! and real friendship can reside.

I think it's funny how people were sarcastically saying that Raya will instantly know how to use her abilities, just like the other Kryptonians. Well, not only did they mention the six weeks, mention Jor-El returning from Earth and telling everyone the effects of the sun, but in the running sceen, Clark said something like "I couldn't let a noobie beat me". Seems like they addressed that issue pretty well this time. I'm also glad that they addressed the noise. It wasn't necessary for them to do that, but interesting to say the least.

Whatever it is, I'm missing it too. The timeline definitely seems screwy to me. Does that mean that they'll fast forward a lot soon? Maybe during Winter break??

No, the fact that it comes out every thursday doestnt mean its thursday in the series everytime we watch it. A few weeks and even months can go between episodes, for what was said in the news in Sneeze I take it it had been at least 2 weeks since the Dark thursday event. maybe between arrow and reunion only had a few days apart, so unless they contradict stated facts there has been no time discoutinuity.

He had the cristal in his hand and the cristal was sucking in all the attack energy from Baern afterwards Baern himself.

Well right, but last night they told us that it had only been six weeks since Clark escaped from the PZ (which happened at the end of May, beginning of June). So does that mean it's still Summer in the Smallvilleverse? Very confusing.
If I recall correctly, they pushed back an episode they had filmed to a later date, which would account for the missing week in this episode.

I thought Zod was causing havoc on Earth prior to Clark and Zoners escape from the PZ so I don't understand why Bow Wow and his friend were playing basketball when the ground was supposed to be shaking. Or was the earthquake only happening in Smallville/Metropolis? Nevertheless, I loved the episode. Just too bad Raya had to die so soon.

The Superman story has always been compared to Jesus. I would guess that it was the main basis when witting up the Superman story in the beginning. I love it.

That's true, but how would Raya have known that? I don't think it's a plot hole, only shows that Raya didn't know about suped up Bo. And, she really shouldn't have known if you think about it. At least this is how I feel. She spoke based on what she knew. Her information was incomplete.

Hmm, I guess I assume that Vessel happened in May because SV usually does follow real time pretty closely. (Lexmas happened on Christmas Eve.)
It seems odd to me that they're so far behind, when usually they fast forward in the first couple of eps (a la three months later...).

Lionel was also seen looking through pics with kryptonian symbols in Reunion when Clarks shows up in Lionels office to ask about Duncan. I think we'll all find out what that and Lionel writing the kryptonian symbols then power few episodes back sometime down the line.

The continuity in this episode is amazing!
The scientist last seen in S6 "Arrow" had a brief scene was a very interesting Lana Lang.
The Lex-Lana interaction played out very well in this episode. The black box certainly caused some cracks in their relationship.
It was funny to see that Lex was still attacking Clark for visiting him and Lana in the hospital (reference to S6 "Reunion").
Lana was actually nice to Clark instead of pestering for more secrets and lies. Though this was largely thanks to Clark showing the black box scans (which Jimmy provided).
Baern: He was an enjoyable Zoner with a more convincing superpower [speed, strength, energy blast, need to recharge]. He actually did his homework to find Clark (In the preview, he saw the Torch Newspaper which showed Clark's barn burned with the Kryptonian Symbol for "Hope" . Though I do resent him for killing Raya.
Raya...Oh my! She returned and it was great! I loved the way she told Clark about Krypton and Jor-El (especially that tidbit about him chosing the Kents for Clark - a reference to S3 "Relic"). It was a great way for Clark to accept his destiny. The scene with the two of them racing (a nice reference to S4 "Run") and the Krypton lore in the Fortress was awesome. The ringing sound was also explained and Brainiac was even mentioned.
I think it would have been good if you didnt kill raya first episode she was in.. An wouldnt clark just have to bring her out in the sun an she would be better?

Doesn't it have something to do with the Fortress of Solitude being temporariliy out of commission Since Zod up till the end of Fallout? It's like Jor-el was offline - Lionel couldn't tap into the fortress and he couldn't understand the symbols.
We'll probably see more of Lionel reading Kryptonian symbols now that the fortress is fixed.
hopefully he turns crazy an starts carving them from the floor of the mansion again
