Good parts. My cable was blinking a lot so it was kinda of confusing picking up conversations in the middle.

I didn't like the fact that Raya died, and the fact that Lionel wasn't in it at all. But other than that, this was an awesome episode! :)

OMG Lionel, i forgot about that guy. Ollie and Lois weren't in it at all either, and where was Shelby?

I thought most of the episode was crappy, but the endeing with Clark & Ma Kent was great.

The only thing that made this episode from not getting a 1 was Clark finally going to accept his destiny and the fact that Jimmy was in it.
It was just okay...
-- Chlimmy parts were good (even though Chloe was kind of OOC).
-- Superman references were fantastic.
-- Raya was so-so. I liked what she had to say, but I didn't like that Clark accepted it so readily. And I thought the actress was wooden.
-- Clark was okay at the end.
-- Lex/Lana were really interesting. Loving Dark Lana this season. I liked that she didn't just accept his words at the end... she doesn't trust Lex & she's not afraid to tell him.
Were they dropping pregnancy hints on purpose? "Craving for ice cream" & in the end she looks sick & she's drinking tea.
-- Lana seems to be 100% over Clark. She just looked annoyed and puzzled that he was visiting Lex. Nothing more and nothing less. And Clark wasn't really thinking about Lex or Lana... he was all about using them to get to knowledge.
For an episode that covered a lot of what makes Clark train to become Superman (and find a deep love for his home planet) I thought the episode was kind of rushed & not written all that well. It could have been better. For me, the Jimmy parts were the best parts of the episodel.

It was pretty good. I like Jimmy so it was great seeing him back. The mystery of him still being in the basement is solved. Lex ruined his career.
Lana has Lex's number and its great. I like how she refuses to be on the outside looking in, like in all her other relationships.
Go Lana!
I liked Raya, but still dislike the fact that Clark has to be taught to be Superman.

I give it a six.
I thought for a moment that he was going to start his training, then he makes the excuse that he has to round up the Phantom zone critters first.
Raya was well, Super.
It seems either the Phantoms also exibit the traits of the hosts or they talk slang in the Phantom Zone hood.
"A score to settle with Your 'ol man".
Also it seems Zod was rather weak, he needed Brainiac to prepare a host for him, and the other Zoners can just take a body and give it powers.
Overall I liked it, but still no Shelby. :(

I gave this episode an 8 out of 10.
"Fallout" was an episode in which the last 5 minutes blew away the previous 55 in terms of character development. Watching Clark TAKE THE NEXT STEP, even though it was a small step was satisfying.
The Chloe/Jimmy thing was somewhat silly, but seeing that Chloe knew more than what Jimmy knew [and his theory was STUPID] about the device was somewhat clever.
Now for Lex and Lana. Lana is playing a dangerous game with Lex and when he finds out that his honey is in cahoots with daddy Lionel, well, it's safe to say that when the sh*t his the fan, it will be the biggest mess you will ever see.
Let's see what other goodies is coming up for the rest of sweeps month..........next Week G.A. is back, and from the preview, it will be a doozy!:)

Absolutely Awesome..
It's finally starting to come together.. I feel it started when Pa Kent died and Clark had to start facing who he was and that he was someone special who will forever change the course of this planet. I don't actually believe in a strict Destiny for each person but I do believe each of us has a unique path we are to walk and that when we do. Special things happen and we can become greater than the collective whole. You can see down through history those who walked their path. Alexander the Great.. King David.. Winston Churchill.. George S. Patton.. Douglas MacArthur.. John F. Kennedy.. Ronald Reagan.. and on and on.. they may not have been perfect and they made mistakes but they knew what they were to do in life.. I think Kal El has now awoken to that and now the light of understanding in starting to show him the way. I also think his "Training" by Jor El will now benefit him much more than if it had happened earlier.

Fallout should have been called FallShort imo. It started off pretty good and then it started to deflate. It had potential to spark some awsome mini arcs. Personally, i would have rather seen Raya compose at least a 3 episode mini arc. Something with her spending time helping Clark restoring the fortress and exploring his training/destiny. A better fight between Clark/Raya and Beorn would have made it easier to chew on as well. TPTB need to invest in some combat choreography...
Gave it a 6, the few special effects were good and the acting was pretty good.
Thats my 2 cents at least ;-)

I gave this episode a ten. Of course, I happen to think that almost all eps are tens. I hate it when ppl are always picking out things that done seem quite right. Get over it. Smallville is a great show. It's not like Clark/Superman is real and his story has to be told exactly as it happened. Its fiction. Great fiction!
I absolutely loved Bow Wow's performance. I wouldn't mind if he stayed on the show a while, even thought that's not likely.
I'm so glad Clark is accepting his destiny, but its also make me wonder if that means that we are quickly nearin the end of this series. That'd be ok as long as it is ended excellently. I want to see it end with Clark becoming Superman in the last episode.
After Clark does complete his training doesn't he become Superman? I wonder how long they'll drag it out? How many more seasons?

I gave it a 9. Would've been perfect if we got to see Clark talk to Jor-El about starting his training, telling Jor-El the situation and asking for his advice on rounding up the escapees before he starts. Otherwise, it was mostly perfect. Raya was a little too short-lived for me to believe Clark truly missed her when she died. It's another episode that needed two hours to really flesh out, but despite those flaws, it was almost perfect. So 9/10

Phenomenal episode.
Pros:
MOST progression of CK to Superman in the 6 seasons of the series thus far!
Raya and her talk with CK
Fortress back
Goofy Jimmy
Lana/Lex manipulating each other
Another "Zoner"
Martha Kent talks
Cons:
Bow Wow (not a fan of his)
9.5/10
Great great episode which will pave the way for a phenomenal remainder of the season!

This episode would have been a 6 or 7 if not for that last scene. It was exceptionally good.
I liked Jimmy but his story was a fuzzy and frankly a bit too contrived for my taste. It is always nice to see Jimmy in an episode, and I love the Chloe-Jimmy interaction.
Nice to see more of Clark. I like the Lana-Lex storyline, though it does seem constantly OOC for Lana, but whatever. If she wasn't with Lex she wouldn't have any purpose on the show anymore so I like how they are using her.
They get continuity points for the mention that Jor-El had picked Smallville and the Kents thus implying his own, personal stint on our friendly, home planet, but they lose those same points for the speech about Clark finally finding someone he feels he can relate to. He said the same thing about Alicia. And I know it's different because Raya was a real Kryptonian, but what matters is that the Alicia shows were all about Clark finding someone he could relate to. They were re-hashing a theme and trying to make it seem original.
I'll be glad to see Lois and Ollie back next week. I thought Bow Wow did a decent job. I'd like to see him back. If I'm not mistaken I do believe they left that possibility open and I like that. DeKnight’s personal lauding of him hints at that as well I think.

Loved seeing Clark accepting his destiny. I really enjoyed this because in general, I'm not always really really into the heavy Krypton mythology episodes but I enjoyed this one a lot. I missed Oliver and Lois, but fortunately they come back next week! Yay!
As always, I wish they had more time to develop the bond between Raya and Clark so that the reason his decision to accept his destiny is more poignant, but I did like what they have, I guess. What is weird is that I agree he had that with Alicia so it was weird he said the same thing about Raya that he said about Alicia except he said it was the first time someone understood him. I think the dialogue should have been more that it was the first time he really had someone who cared about him from his home planet, or osmething. But the one afterward about him suddenly undderstanding everything he had before made a lot of sense.
I also liked seeing Lex be totally scary to Jimmy and Lana being kind of evil and manipulative. He was even scary when he confronted lana about her secret visit to the scientist! Lana now even dresses like Lex and sort of have conversations like he would have--his influence is really interesting. Also, loved how they put on the happy couple front when Clark shows up (the sudden move toward one another!).
Jimmy and Chloe were cute so overall I liked it. Not the best ever, not Arrow good, but pretty fun!

I loved it and give it a 10.
every episode this season becomes more and more interesting. You can see the path getting closer as Clark has to except his destiny and Raya has now told him what that is.
He must save the world from destroying itself.
I'm loving this.
Can you see a new Superhero coming out of this with all the technology we now have and all the new ways the dumb ass humans can think of destroying ourselves.
I want this show to go on to better things
Oh wait did you all see the fortress come to life in the last scene? Maybe Raya's remains restored it

I did like the expression on Raya's face when Clark fessed up to not doing any of the training, and Raya's remark about (parafrasing since I haven't rewatched it yet) how pain is a major part in the training. Krypton must have been a rough place to grow up.

I gave it a 5. I had a lot of issues with it, though I did love the Clark/Martha scene at the end, and Clark finally coming to terms with his purpose and how he wants to go about fulfilling his destiny.
But the rest of the episode? Yeah, I had issues.

I thought it was an excellent episode, especially the ending. Bow Wow was nothing of note, nor was Jimmy.
Raya was a worthwhile character and deserved (or maybe deserves) to reappear.
Glad the Green Arrow Bandit and his attachment weren't in the episode, it upgraded it generally and I got good Superman vibes from it.

I have no idea what the nay sayers are smoking, but they obviously didn't see the same episode I did. This was, without a doubt what I have been waiting to see for the last three or four seasons. Someone FINALLY!!!!!! straightened Clark out about Jor-El and told him to suck it up and be a man! This episode actually made seasons four and five worth it, although they could have gotten to it much sooner (ahem, ahem).
Wish Raya could have stuck around a little longer, but we all knew it was coming. The ending with the fortress was great but I kinda wish we could have seen Clark talking to Jor-El and calling him "father".
About the only truly bad thing about this episode was that it signaled the inevitable countdown to the last episode. Clark will finish dealing with the rest of the Zoners by season's end, and then enter his training, and then they'll decide to end the show there. That really sucks. They might as well have blurted out that this would be the last season.
I truly wish they would perhaps come back next fall with him finished from his training and taking up residence in Metropolis for a season or two. Let's face it, most of us want to see a full blown Superman in Smallville's CK, John Williams' music in the background, etc. Even if it doesn't go past another season or two, that will still give it a total of seven or eight seasons which is pretty darn good for a (let's face it) Sci-Fi/Fantasy or Comic Book based series.

I loved this episode but it was not the best. It was right up there though. Rather than being excited from action and drama, I mostly enjoyed the satisfaction of Clark's recognition of self. To me this feels like the show is getting closer to the end of Superboy and the beginning of Superman. That said, I can see how we might start watching the JLA on Thursdays instead of Smallville. Might be a remote possibility but still a possibility.

Once again, not a great episode, but there were a lot of good things in it. They've done some good work this season moving Clark forward, and one of the matters I thought had to be resolved was the conflict between Jor-el and Clark, and they accomplished a lot toward that goal in this episode. Unfortunately, a lot of the Clark-Raya scenes were drained of energy because the actress playing Raya was awfully wooden. BTW, what happened to her as supposed love interest?
What bugged me most of all was the short shrift given all the nasty stuff Jor-el has done. Raya describes the living man Jor-el as someone virtually identical to Clark, and Clark replies that that is not the Jor-el he's seen. I really wanted Clark to say that Jor-el has burned him, threatened to kidnap him, tortured his adoptive father into a coma, and brainwashed him, but they didn't let him do any of that. Neither was the "rule the earth" directive explained, which was one of the most important factors driving Clark away from his destiny. They just had Raya scold him, and it felt like the writers were trying to sweep all this under the carpet. In spite of these problems, I did like that Clark admitted to Martha that he felt a strong pull towards his Kryptonian people and now consciously wants to know about them. Back in "Crusade", when he spoke of being unable to fly as himself, there was such an undercurrent of sadness that I suspected this was the case, but with Jor-el's brutality, he never had a rationale to seek them out actively. And hey, destiny and acceptance of such!
I applaud the portrayal of Lex in this episode. I feel like I've been waiting forever this season to see Lex. Finally this script gives Rosenbaum the chance to do something with his character, and I loved the glacial menace in his scene with Jimmy. Lex just looks at him like he's an insect he's going to squish. In the scenes with Lana, he doesn't even seem all that surprised at her perfidy, just angry. All the schmoopiness we'd been subjected to with Lexana appears to be gone, and these two are interacting like hostile colleagues, not lovers. And I had to laugh at the basic childishness Lex exhibits in the hospital scene by once again trying to rub Clark's nose in the Lexana relationship, even though Lex and Lana are actually at loggerheads.
Lana, God help us, was Lana again in this episode. The actress just couldn't carry off the improbable Skullduggery!Lana in the limousine encounter, and the encounter was ridiculous anyway, because if Grohl knew that the Luthors were so badass, why would he risk meeting with Lana and jeopardize his escape? Anyway, after two weeks ago batting her eyes up at Lex and asking him to save the world by investigating the black box, she does a 180 when she discovers he's been working with the military on it. Exactly how did she think they were going to combat the aliens? Regardless of the illogic, Lex is now wrong, wrong, wrong in her eyes to keep on working on it, and she delivers an ultimatum: the box goes or I go! Happily, she's cheated out of a denouement that would let her know whether she'd won, but the iciness of the exchange made me wonder why she's still with this man. She even works in the opportunity to sh*t all over Clark again when he comes to the hospital. She accuses Clark of purely ulterior motives, but interestingly, there is a subtext in Welling's performance that suggests Clark does care whether they are okay although he is manifestly aware he is unwelcome.
The Jimmy scenes were somewhat amusing, although unfortunately ludicrous at times. Once he walked into Lex's study, I concluded he was both stupid and suicidal. I sense he's going to need some rescuing in the near future. The fact that he actually came away from that meeting with something was just contrived. By normal odds, he should have ended up photographing some dry business documents or a dinner menu. His cluelessness in photographing the limousine and in thinking the Kryptonian lettering was Egyptian was mildly amusing, but he's such a dolt that I couldn't help wondering why Chloe considers him boyfriend material. Chloe, you may or may not get Clark, but you've got to set your sights higher than this. And speaking of Clark, Chloe didn't seem too happy to meet Raya.
Bow Wow gave a decent performance in spite of the fact that Baern was a paper-thin character. He was regular-guy when he needed to be, and menacing when he needed to be, although his diction did slip a bit. I liked the final scene between him and Clark at the hospital. His bewilderment and Clark's kindness played well off each other. "Kansas?"

S6 "Fallout"
Summary
Clark (Tom Welling) is thrilled when he learns Raya (guest star Pascale Hutton) managed to escape from the Phantom Zone and has come to see him in Smallville. The two grow close and Raya shows Clark how to restore power to the Fortress of Solitude. However, Baern (guest star Bow Wow), a killer who also escaped from the Phantom Zone, takes on both Raya and Clark as he seeks revenge for his imprisonment.
What an episode! The beginning with Baern was awesome considering that I already saw the Director's Cut Clip. I was impressed with how they kept the same number of "shooting stars" as in "Zod" and how the phantom turned out after the special effects were added. The scene with Jimmy Olsen takin the snapshots was awesome. I loved how Jimmy was incorporated into this episode. He actually had a role in the plot.
The continuity in this episode is amazing!
The scientist last seen in S6 "Arrow" had a brief scene was a very interesting Lana Lang.
The Lex-Lana interaction played out very well in this episode. The black box certainly caused some cracks in their relationship.
It was funny to see that Lex was still attacking Clark for visiting him and Lana in the hospital (reference to S6 "Reunion").
Lana was actually nice to Clark instead of pestering for more secrets and lies. Though this was largely thanks to Clark showing the black box scans (which Jimmy provided).
Baern: He was an enjoyable Zoner with a more convincing superpower [speed, strength, energy blast, need to recharge]. He actually did his homework to find Clark. Though I do resent him for killing Raya.
Raya...Oh my! She returned and it was great! I loved the way she told Clark about Krypton and Jor-El (especially that tidbit about him chosing the Kents for Clark - a reference to S3 "Relic"). It was a great way for Clark to accept his destiny. The scene with the two of them racing (a nice reference to S4 "Run") and the Krypton lore in the Fortress was awesome. The ringing sound was also explained and Brainiac was even mentioned.
The Fortress is back online and Clark has realized his destiny

I can't believe so many people are giving this a bad rating when it is the very episode that is sticking true to the series. This show isn't about GA or JL. It's about Clark becoming Supe and this episode helped set it up.
I have to get offline soon so I'm just going to say that I thought this episode was the best episode this season( why this is getting worst ratings than last week's stink fest is beyond me). I give this episode a 10/10.

I gave it an 8 out of 10. Baern's energy blast was a great special effect, wasn't it?
Clark "accepting his destiny" seemed a little strange, like RMF was saying - after all the nasty things that Jor-el has done.
I loved Evil Lana. She's finally a believable character, though she could have played her hand better with Lex, I think. Like maybe telling Lex that she was going to take over the research on the "box", now that he bungled it (the scientist disappeared with all the notes, etc.)
Jimmy's supposed to be goofy, and he really delivered in this episode. What was he doing going to Lex with those pictures? Like Lex was going to break down and confess his whole evil plan or something. I don't see how Chloe can stand him.

I could have done less with the Jimmy parts and more of Clark and Raya talking about Krypton and what the planet use to be like. I gave the episode an 8, less Jimmy, more Raya/Clark, and a longer fight scene at the end would have given it a 10. Except for Wither, this season had been great.

Oh yeah!:) . This epi was, imo, one of the best of the season. The final scene was just so awesome: I mean Clark saying he's gonna' go into training, but after he finishes off the Zoners... that was just supreme.
It sucked that Raya died, but everyone knew it was gonna' happen, and that is inevitable.
I liked Jimmy as a photographer, and trying to get a good story... much like Jimmy in the comics. Then Jimmy saying he'll always be a photographer, nice Superman reference.
I liked the Lexana scene... Lana is starting to realize that Lex is manipulative, and evil.
I also liked how the whole epi was revolved together, with the Jimmy story, Lexana and doctor scene, then Clark and Baern.

I enjoyed most of the Lex/Lana stuff. They don't trust each other, and that's interesting to see. Also, there's the possibility of Lana being interesting in future eps, but I think they'll squander as they did last season.
I really like Jimmy. I like his enthusiasm and determination and some of his dialog really made me laugh. But I'm not feeling the Chimmy. They seem very unequally matched. She's just leagues beyond him, IMO.
Didn't like Raya and her Jor-El speeches. Which basically say "obey Jor-El's AI" without the audience ever being told why he should, or given reasons for its previous deceitful and/or malevolent acts.
Was I the only one that half-way expect Jimmy to find out Chloe wasn't sending his copies to the Egyptian embassy? I thought it had great potential for conflict for him to realize she was lying to him, but, of course, not know the real reason why. Then I realized that, even if that were going to happen, it wouldn't happen this early into Jimmy's appearances.

I really enjoyed this episode. I loved the Lex and Jimmy interaction because you really saw Lex be the evil businessman that he should be. Most of the time we only see him with Lana and he's all lovey-dovey. They seem to keep the ruthlessness off camera.
I liked the Jimmy aspect of the episode. it really establishes the character in this particular mythos since he hasn't had much screen time due to the other characters and their stories. He is like Pete Ross. We'll only get him in small doses. The Egyptians line was hilarious!
It is good to see Clark now beginning to accept his destiny. Not that he wasn't (sorta) before but he has articulated that now. Thank you Raya for showing him (for however short a period) that his father was not the bastard Clark thought he was. The last scene between Clark and Martha was awesome. I did a fist pump cause I thought Clark was just gonna go back and re-active the fortress but he took a stand and said "No" not until this job is done.
So much for the black box lasting till the end of the season.
I thought the fight in the fortress was a little weak but what ya gonna do?
All in all, a great episode! Can't wait till next week!

I liked that fact that Raya spoke so highly of Jor-El. Her statements about him emphasizes forshadows the goodness in the heart of Kal-El and the greatness of his destiny. I thought that Raya either worshipped (figuatively speaking) or perhaps had a Kryptonian crush on Jor-El. Perhaps I am overanalyzing that? The part with Jimmy and Chloe was pretty good, although I always thought that Jimmy was a lot younger than he is portrayed in Smallville given that Clark is not even on the staff of The Daily Planet...but I digress. Bow Wow did a good job in his performance and I got the feeling that he might be checking out some real estate in Smallville in the future. I also enjoyed that Lana is proving up to the challange of being Lex's gf! I did miss Lois, though!!!! Good overall episode, but I wasn't sure...was Clark going to fix the Fortress of Solitude or wait until all of the Zoners were caught and then fix the FOS and begin his training with Jor-El? Any thoughts on this anyone?

Gave it an 8, it is the best episode of this season and IMO the best since last season's Solitude.
Was glad to see the weeds growing in the Lexana garden of love.
To bad that Raya will not be back. Clark could learn so much, much quicker.
No Lionel and Martha was just a token appearance?
Still keep waiting for Jimmy to say, "Gee, Golly, Willikers" . I just don't see what Chloe would see in him after hanging around Clark.
Bow Wow did a good job and I"m especially glad to see the Fortress back. Now Clark can move to onward with acceptance.
Didn't miss the Arrow or Lois. Still haven't warmed to their relationship at all.

The episode was good, I really really really like the end with Martha en Clark, that was amazing!!!
Also I think Raya had a kryptocrush on Jor-el :D

I've got to give this epi an 8/10. Raya played a vital part in getting Clark on track. Finally he gets a partisan introspective of Jorel and the importance of following his destiny. Up until now he has had a mirky outlook of his purpose here on earth. I agree that Jimmy's character growth brought alot to the table. I'm really pleased that he isn't painted as being a wimpy cub reporter. I'm glad Lana is showing some signs of sanity for a change. I really like KK and it has been a shame to see her spiralling out of control. Unlike all of the other good series on the tube these days, Smallville is showing growth and imagination. My hats off to the writers and cast. C.K. in particular.

I gave it a 10 I liked the way that Clark is moving on in taking that next step. Was talking to a friend in Texas this morning and she said that she and her son were glued to the TV all thru it.
I feel that we are now on the correct path to Superman, can't wait.

I didn't love it or hate it. I thought it was a good, but average episode. I understand that the special effects budget is probably limited, but the fight sequences lately have just been too short. I did love the talk between Clark and Martha at the end--great stuff that shows Clark's development.
8
Things I liked:
-the fact that this was the first episode since the premier that seemed to actually center on Clark... that automatically puts it in the like category for me, more often than not
-the Lex/Jimmy scene... first time all season long I actually found Lex somewhat interesting
-Jimmy's conclusion that Lex must be working with the Egyptians... chuckle-worthy
-the Clark/Raya scenes, for the most part
-Raya's spin kick that sent Baern flying out of the barn
-Raya, in general, actually
-hearing Clark at least verbalize his acceptance of his destiny
-the atmosphere and lighting in the Fortress... it made Clark and Raya look really pretty
-the reactivation of the Fortress at the end
-Lex getting tossed across the room, again, after trying to block Baern's way
-the fact that Clark actually did something else besides stutter out a lame lie/half-truth or give a blank look to Lana in the hospital scene when she asked him to tell her what was up... I was physically cringing in anticipation for it to go just like all of their other scenes, but was somewhat pleasantly surprised by the civility
Things I didn't like:
-the retcon of Jor-el
-in relation to what I mentioned above, I was disappointed that Clark didn't tell Raya about the things Jor-el has done to him in the last 3 years so she could understand why Clarkie hasn't trained yet (instead of the vague pain line he did say)
-Clark, once again, can't even get in a punch of his own against the bad guy of the week
Things I rolled my eyes at:
-Lana's complete 180 from only 2 episodes ago... from wanting the box investigated to protect 'us' from alien invasions (and Lex getting the government involved, just like she once suggested) to giving Lex ultimatums because... why????
-and why was Dr. Groll all friendly and giving a d**n about Lana after she threatened to blackmail him a couple of weeks ago? Why bother risking his escape with a secret meeting with her instead of getting the hell out of dodge as quickly as possible?
-"the only one who really understood me" line. How many times do I have to hear Clark say this about someone? Hopefully, never again.
-yet another female character on the show that I actually find really interesting gets killed off (first Alicia, now Raya)
-Lex's "we're fine, both of us" line in the hospital which, with the way he said it and the look on his face, actually means "Lookie what I got! Your ex is mine now, Clark. Nyah nyah nyah!" Lex has been stuck back in grade school since this relationship began.
Things I was bored with:
-I like Jimmy fine, but I'm not feeling the Chimmy love all that much (they don't seem like a convincing match to me). And I'm not feeling the Lexana 'love' at all (and never have). So after seeing this ep a couple of times I just fast forward through most of their scenes now.
-Martha. My favorite regular female character of the show, but she's just been kind of there so far this season since the premiere, and this episode was no different. I actually verbally expressed surprise when she showed up later in the episode, because I had completely forgotten she was even on the show.
-the scene between Bow Wow's character and Clark at the hospital was awkward. Something was off and made the scene feel anticlimatic, and I can't quite place my finger on why (besides the constant use of the word 'Kansas'). But I can see myself fast forwarding through this scene on future viewings, and it's rare that I do that with a scene with Clark in it.

i thought the episode was good. i liked the special effects. im glad we finally get to see the fortress agian and the scene of the dead fortress looked cool. im glad clark has finally agreed to go thru testing. but it sucks he will wait for the capture of all zoners. im going to guess that clark wont start training till the seson finale and then they will probably do a 3 month break from everything and have clark still training. im really hopingt he starts training sooner tho. i found it intresting that they showed another part of the farm then normal. but its only been 6 weeks? so its like june or july when the show takes place? maybe that also gives them a reason at the end of the season to have clark train for a year and then season 7 goes into real time agian. also why was that bow wow kid and his friend playing basketball and talking about school work on the same day the world was being destroyed by zod and stuff? wouldnt they be home or hiding somehwere if things were in chaos.

I too was pretty happy with this episode. Not the best ever, but pretty good. I am wicked excited to see Clark heading down the path to superman. I totally wanted him to fly at the end too!!!
The one thing that really bugs me though is that stupid crystal!!! It looks sooooo cheesy- like a grade school art project!! I cringe every time they show it. It didn't have blue on it in the Zod episode did it? I might be crazy, but I thought it looked less brutal then.

Crazy4Smallville’s Weekly Review
Jimmy Oslen was a hoot in this episode. I dropped my spoon when he blurted out his Egyptian theory to Chloe. Poor Chloe, will any man be smart enough for her? This one is a few bricks shy of a load, but hey… he was adorable.
Lex is an arrogant, pompous jerk… just the way I like him. He was rude, cold and calculating and made no excuses for his behavior. I wanted to slap him for the way he treated Clark, but that’s what I love about him. I love to hate him.
Lana’s moving more and more over to the dark side. She knows Lex is bad… she calls him on it and yet she makes the decision to stay? Why? It’s not because she trusts him, because she flat out admitted that she didn’t. It’s not because he trusts and is honest with her… because he didn’t do anything to try and hide that fact. So, what is it that brings these two together? I don’t know… but I think it works – at least the chemistry does.
The whole Raya/ Phantom Freaks (Baer) storyline was a bit lame and ‘boring’ to me, saying the same thing we’ve heard a million times already. But I know TPTB need a catalyst somehow to give some background into Jor-El so that Clark will know that he’s not a jerk out to destroy the earth, but to save it. They backed themselves into that corner and now they’ve had to create this lame storyline to make it happen.
I LOVE, that he’s now ready to fulfill his destiny, however at the same time I got excited about that – knowing that he’ll go off to become the Superman he’s destined to be and get his training from Jor-El, I feel sad because it will probably happen at the end of this season or the next for sure. That means no more Smallville. I don’t even want to think about it.
Well, this is a short review. There wasn’t much to talk about. Perhaps when Oliver Queen comes back onto the show, there’ll be more interest. I did miss Lionel and Lois this week. Hope to see them soon.
Till next time,
~Crazy4Smallville

This ep was pretty darn good. Could have used a little more superpowered fighting, but hey, just hearing Clark say he is finished with avoiding his destiny is worth years of waiting.

Loved it. I a love all of the episodes that dive into the mythology of Superman. The only let down was killing Raya. It would have been much better to have a Krytonian, good or bad, like last season with Fine. They make the show more exciting.
Raya's kick literally kicked ass.

ya the kick was good. thats what clark needs to do. wish we would so more fighting and less crystal sucking lol. but i guess its the only way to stop the phantoms. non phantom, zoners can get their butts kicked and killed. phantoms take a human host so the crystal is all they can use cause clark wouldnt sacrifice a human
2/10... RAYA DIED!! smallville is pissing me off NOW!

This episode was good. I liked how Clark finally had someone by his side but it was so crappy to see Raya die. I thought that she would at least be there for 2 episodes but I guess not. I like the fact that Clark is finally looking to embrace his destiny but... of course he has to take care of business first. So it looks like the rest of this season will be about taking out the "Zoners". See the FOS was a good refresher of settings, I hope we get to see more of it in some way throught the rest of the season. What really drives me though, is the storyline and I'm liking it so far this season. I can't wait to see Clark take on this training.

Man, I guess I'm in the minority on this one. With the exception of the final scene, I thought this was an average episode at best.
Bow Wow wasnt as bad as I thought he would be. And both fights werent that great, but I figured as much because of the show's budget this year.
This new "evil" Lana seems too forced, and completely off. If she really wants to come off as a b****, she just needs to act the same way she's been acting for the past five years. ;)
It was good though to hear Raya describing the type of man Jor-El really was. But Clarks line of "how could he ever trust someone who brought so much pain into his life?" completely ruined it for me. Clark pretty much brought all of it on himself by choosing to defy him in the first place. So I couldnt really sympathize with the BDA.
I didnt think Raya's death was handled well at all. First off, you'd think she wouldnt just stand there the whole time waiting to get hit. I was thinking she would sacrifice herself, by jumping in front of Clark or something like that. And then after she finally bit the dust, I really wished Clark would have showed a little more emotion considering someone close to him died, again. I couldnt really buy into Raya's death being the final thing push Clark into accepting his destiny. If anyone's death should have propelled him into doing so, it should have been Jonathan's.
As good as it was to hear Clark finally wanting to embrace his destiny, I'm not gonna buy into it until I actually see him act on it. Although I would have wanted him to start his training as soon as possible, (especially since he's long overdue anyway), the remaining 'Zoners was a valid enough reason to hold off on that.
But unfornutaley, this is still Smallville, which basically means the writers are gonna put this on the back-burner until most likely the finale. Where we'll probably get like a scene or two of character progression, but then it'll probably be right back to square one in the premiere. I'm not sure what the writers have planned, hopefully I'm wrong, I just dont want to see another Season Five all over again.

The episode was good and I enjoyed it. Rya was great I think and I loved the fact that she has some combat skills.
I think the fight with bow wow in the fortress proves that Clark needs to learn how to fight, he can't just throw everyone into pipe, cars, whatever object happens to be around. Yeah it was impressive the first time but bow wow would have killed him if not for that Crystal. Invest in some martial training for TW and then maybe we can see some cool fight sequences, just like the comics.

I really enjoyed this episode. I do kind of wish there was some more interaction with Raya and Clark (since the write up said they got close...though they didnt get as close as I thought they would). I liked Raya, because she was very serious about Clark and his destiny. Bow Wow was ok. I wasnt really looking forward to him being on, but he did ok for what he did have...but his use of 'slang' while he was possessed bothered me (Old Man, come on). The whole Lex/Lana thing was very interesting. I hate evil Lana, but i guess thats probably a good thing. Anywho, I give it 8/10

Raya's physical appearance and authoritative manner of speaking is too reminiscent of Kara, the blond girl who is given Kryptonian superpowers by Jor-El, and attempts to entice Clark into the cave wall. If memory serves, that was "Covenant"--the episode from season three.
I guess Jor-El has a taste for blondes.

It's entirely possible that since Jor-El knew Raya before he picked Kara/Lindsey, that he chose Kara/Lindsey because she reminded him so much of Raya. Of course that's just speculation since I doubt the writers were trying to tell us that, but who knows they may work it in.

The nice thing about this episode too me was that it was actually about Clark who the show is actually ABOUT and not the Green Arrow the GUEST STAR. It did have it's hoaky moments, (like Lex not hearing the camera clicking) among others but just the fact that this was about Clark and Superman to an extent made this episode bearable. Not great but bearable.

I gave it a 9.Great episode.I liked the Clack & Raya's interaction. It's about time Clark learns about how his father was really like and at last,he accepts his destiny.
I like Jimmy but,I think his presence on this episode seem forced, barging in Lex's office like he was king of the world, his stupid egyptians theory, and I didn't the fact that his screentime took off some Craya's scenes for nothing.
Lex was mean, rude and SO evil.I loved it because I was effraid that Lana might stop him for awhile but,no he was himself again

What was interesting about this episode is that it killed whatever was left of the Brainiac storyline by having "the box" be absorbed by Baern...It seemed like this entire season might be about that subplot...Now it's over, so it'll be interesting to see what the HUGE PLOT THEME will be now..Hopefully it isn't just the Zoners or this speculated "baby"...

I liked how Raya called Clark on his crap about not starting his training yet. I wanted her to say,"Hey, BDA! Get with the program and quit mopin in your stupid loft!"
And like some one said earlier, get TW to train with Jackie Chan or Jet Li and get some real fight moves. Sometimes Clark looks like Frankenstein with his arms extended when he fights.
Oh, and that awful tablecloth shirt he had on. EWWW...Usually, TW looks good in anything, but that shirt has to go.

Well overall I thought this was a pretty good episode!!!
It is probably my favorite episode of this season so far.....
Here are the things I liked
1.) Raya saying the name "Brainiac", I don't think anyone ever referred to him as his actual name on the show before then.
2.) The scene with Jimmy and Lex. Jimmy was very cool and hilarious in this episode!
3.) Clark and Raya racing each other, that was very nice to see.
4.) Clark finally accepting his destiny.
5.) The Fortress lighting up at the end.
Here are the things I did not like....
1.)Lana. She is just irritating the heck out of me, and when she said she was playing at Lex's level that seriously made me laugh because her stupidity is so unbelievable it is actually quite funny. Annoying, but funny.
2.) Lex. He is a serious jerk. A lot of credit goes to Michael Rosenbaum. He does such an awesome job with acting out the Evil, jerk-like Lex!!!
3.) Raya dying, that just totally sucked.
4.) No Lionel, very little Martha.
With the exception of a few things, I thought this was a great episode! In my opinion the season is starting to pick up.

Clark said it. He actually said it!
"I haven't started my training." I don't know what was more priceless: Clark's admission about his kryptonian 'failure to launch' into his destiny until then ... or Raya's look of frustration at Kal-El's super-procrastination and lack of initiative.
That alone made the episode for me, and I'm glad there was more continuity - with references to the Zoner escapees and that Jor-El has been trying to train Clark all this time and the BDA was too busy playing football, gettin' busy with Lana, accepting Fine's boldfaced lies on face value and thwarting sorority vampires to grasp the concept.
Clark wanted to do his heroic thing, but without the risk and pain -- and Raya spelled it out to him: tragedy comes with the superhero package. Now, step up to the plate.
Ideally, Clark would have learned all of this from all that has happened to him, but it looks like he needs these black-and-white anvils to get him movin', including the S-shield emblazoned insurance policy crystal. When he said he's ready to accept his destiny (Kal-El, welcome to the party, at last), I almost expected Martha to say: 'well, it's about freaking time'. Let's hope Raya's sacrifice won't be in vain.
Jimmy's amateur sleuthing showed just who's out of his league (Jimmy) and who is going to be doing a whole lot of mentoring (Chloe). Lex swatted him aside like a fly at a picnic table. I think they've set up some ethical dilemmas for Jimmy and Chloe. It's inevitable that Jimmy will uncover information or witness some strange events, and Chloe will either have to confide in him or protect Clark's secret. If she allows Jimmy to go on red herring stories (this time about Egyptians), then she may be protecting Clark's secret at the expense of trusting Jimmy. If she confides in Jimmy, then Clark will most likely see it as a test of loyalty, and I'm not confident he'll take it all that well (especially if he has jealousy over their relationship).
As for Lex and Lana, we all know he was going to pick the box over Lana. I think at this point Lana should know that by now, but either she's still clinging to feelings for him and believes she can 'save' him from himself, or she's tired of the lies and deceit and is resigned to accept Lex, flaws and all. I'm glad Lana is tired of putting up with Clark's contrived concern for Lex (what good is a friend if you can't use him, right, Kal-El?). Sadly, she's taken up the town's favourite habit: lying to protect people.
I find it interesting that it's the 'outsiders': Ollie, Raya, Lois (I'd say she's one too, since she hasn't been at SV's Lying Game for quite as long as the others), who are forcing Clark to see what the heck's been going on around him and accepting some responsibility.
Clark accepts his destiny. That's good, but it should have occured much earlier than that. I'd have liked it if he came to this defining realization around season four, but at the time he was participating in the Jensen Ackles Star-Making Vehicle story arc ie the Teague-Isobel epic.
I hope he does have time to fulfil his mission of chasing those Zoners (in between sorting out the mess that is Lexana, his feelings about Lolliver and how Chimmy might affect him).
"Stalkerazzi"? LOL! Sorry, Jimmy, but I think that title still belongs to Clark.*
*[Refer to Clark's check-in with Lex at the hospital, and, oh by the way, you're alright too, Lana? It's restraining order time, Miss Lang. The farm boy's obsessed.]

I agree, seeing Clark progress was great. And I agree with someone who said finally an eppy about Clark. I actually really enjoyed Clark's expression of guilt when Raya called him on not getting his training. I seriously believe he will follow through with the training because of what he learned from Raya, and not because she died, which I felt needed to happen, although one more ep with her would have been nice.
And I agree on how could Lana not realize that Lex would not have chosen her. I also like that the box was destroyed putting an end to Lex having it. Despite Lana, Lex is becoming more evil with each ep.
The only part of the ep that dragged for me is the Chimmy. Really boring. It is way too clear they're a bad match and I don't even get the feeling that Chloe respects him. For Chloe, Jimmy is the opposite of Clark and all this feels to me is forced.
Despite that, I still give it 9/10.

I think this episode was the 2nd best after zod. I gave it 9 out of 10.I have a couple of things to say.
1. I loved the end scene with clark and martha.
2.It took him long enough to finally except his destiny!
3. I thought the new shots of the fotress and the kent farm were really beautiful.
4. I am really sad that raya had tp die.
5. Bow wows charater enoyed me.
6. THe fight was to frickin short.
7.Is anybody else wondering why lex and lana are still together?
8. Jimmys lex is working with the egyptians line was funny but i think he must be suicidal to go up to lex like that.
9. i loved lex evilness in this episode.
10.Lana? i like her when she isent whinning but the was she is latly is so different from usual i hope she doesnt go back to old lana.
11. and all about clark i also agree with someone who said finally an episode about Clark. i think the had forgotton who the main character of the show was for a while.

I'V already seen Rage, and to date I think Fallout is the best episode of the season. This season has been much better about continuity even if it hasn't gone back far enough to resolve long over due questions.
It's good to see Clark moving forward and Lexana digging a hole. Yea!!!!!!

When season started i thought i'd see many episodes like this.
Now i'm glad i got to see one.
Perfect, loved the chemistry with Raya, and how she guided Clark.
About the BowWow guy... well, they had to fill the bad guy part, but even without him the episode could have worked as good as it was.

Fallout was an very good episode to watch. It had it good points and bad points:
Good:
Clark finally getting a clue as to who he is from Raya. He learning more from her about his father ,Jor-El, and his mission to Earth.
Seeing the Superman symbol. I will say that this is a clever way to introduce the symbol to everyone and to Clark himself.
An episode that really centers on Clark and his personal journey and sticks to it.
Raya putting Clark to shame for not starting his training at the FOS and wasting valuable time on top of it. Shaming him that he wasn't nearly the man his father, Jor-El was.
No Green Arrow.
Seeing the Fortress of Solitude light up at the end of the show.
Bad:
Little or Medum sized Bow Wow and his work as the villian of the piece in this one. I didn't think people from outer space talked in the way he did in the episode. It was sort of off putting.
Too much Jimmy Olsen.
Seeing how Raya could wheel kick Beorn out of the Kent barn(Serious eye roll) but Clark could not fight all that well on his own.
I hated to see Raya killed off too. She could have helped Clark understand more about himself, his father, his former home, and his mission here on Earth. With her gone all that is up to Clarkie now.
Hopefully, now that the show is heading into its' 7th season there shall be more episode like Fallout that have it that Clark is pushed forward into doing what needs to be done and not have him spinning his wheels pining for Lana anymore. A lot to ask for I know.

Y'know, I thought that "Fallout" was pretty cool. I liked the character of Raya, though I thought that the way her death affected Clark and how he seemed so concerned about her seemed a tiny bit contrived. I wish we'd seen more build-up between them. It's not that I don't like the character... it just seemed weird that she was instantly so close to him, but I guess it makes somewhat sense because they were (according to their knowledge) the last two Kryptonians in existence, and had a shared history, sort of, through their connection with Jor-El. Baern was a pretty cool, interesting phantom, and Chloe helped out Clark a ton, as always, which I always like. "Have you met me?" That was one of the funniest and one of my favorite Chloe lines. Poor Raya at the end... It really was pretty sad. The Lexana angst got to me a little, though. The Chimmy was actually cute back then, and Jimmy was pretty sly in the way that he got those pictures of Brainiac's computer core, or whatever that box thing was supposed to be. Did anyone else crack up when he said that he thought it was the Egyptians, and Chloe was all like, "Uhh... yeah, of course! I'll just call the embassy..." :p
