He has the same expression each scene. When his friend died and when he told him that he would see him later, he had the same expression. In the end you can't really mind an episode like this because it's just more character developement for Lex. It shows us more of his background.

Come on guys, lighten up. He's supposed to play an arrogant, self centered ass. He can't be like Clark - conflicted and all. He's got his game face on because he's a new character, doesn't know Clark that well yet and maybe, just maybe, the director and writers want him to be like this. We'll have to see.

There it is. Waitin' for this one to pop up. I guess I don't think he's that bad of an actor. E.D. is actually a pretty good actress too.

In fact when you get right down to it EVERYONE on the show is a good actor... compared to me. I don't really criticise because I couldn't do it.

Except that one dude who shot Lex in Sneeze. That guy sucks. He's like a z-list celebrity.

To start, Hartley is NOT a good actor. He sounds like he's reading off a script every episode, whether he's supposed to be angry, confused, or whatever. And he most definitely IS NOT HOT OR SEXY!!!! Have you actually looked at him?!?

^then again everyone is entiled to their OWN OPINION.

i've never been to impressed with JH acting but i wouldn't say he's a horrible actor. he ceartinly way better then the idiot who played aquaman. and he was better then the chick who played the angel of vengance. i think he's mediocre not the worst i've ever seen and ceartinly not the best.

For the most part he's done a great job IMO. However there's some line that he shouted at Clark in a monotone right before he sat down (supposedly) full of emotion... that was laughably bad.

I think it was, "We both killed Duncan!" He said it in this strange monotone yell. LOL! But that was the only misstep IMO. I'm sure he's wondering why they chose that take. Or maybe that was the best one... LOL!

as a matter of fact i have looked him and he is hot...hartley was on a soap opra..yea "passions" isnt that greatest show for acting abilities but soap stars in general work harder than any tv person...there shows air every day not once a week! hartley has been doing a great job! u should stop looking at all the neagtives in people and look for the good...

I think JH is doing a good job and I like the chemistry that's developing with Clark. It's going to allow the Clark-Lex antagonism to develop in a different way now that there's another strong guy lead. Jimmy Olsen's character is a joke, well at least so far. Give JH a break and I laughed when Chloe met Ollie in the barn. Even Clark smiled and laughed a bit.

No one on this show can act with the exception of Rosenbaum, Mack, Glover, and O'Toole. Watching this show is comparable to watching a train wreck that's so bad you can't turn away.

Now for Justin Hartley? I think we found the real reason Aquaman was not picked up.

Ah, no, Charybdis...even Ulysses couldn't navigate between you and Scylla in a junk skow like Aquaman. Ving Rhames was unwatchable and the script was truly awful. These guys have to do with the script they're given. I agree with your list...Rosenbaum, Mack, Glover and O'Toole are superb actors but this isn't Shakespeare and God knows it isn't Virgil.
